Wow, this was one heck of a update, actually yelled out "holy shit!" at the HD Windwaker images. The Yoshi game is good to see, but does look a lot like Epic Yarn, even the gems look the same, but at least there's more detail/3d Yarn Yoshi Isn't Shin Megami Tensei that weird game where you jump in TVs and battle huge penis chariot monsters? What a weird mashup Here's the TvTropes page on Shin Megami Tensei that lists it's many, many games and spinoffs (the best known western ones being Persona (3 & 4), Devil Summoner and Digital Devil Saga) SMT x FE seems like a weird concept, I can´t picture the FE guys in the present where the teisen Series takes its place, also, since FE hardly has a Consistent cast this could be weird. Maybe it could work the opposite way around, SMT "present day" characters go to a FE type "past" Monolith Soft "X" game looks pretty bloody amazing, has Xenoblade like elements (hud, 3 player party, attack selection) and than the machine guns came out and than dismemberment began and riding/vaulting on to the emeny monsters happened and than the mecha appeared, and fucccccck that game looks awesome! So, should we North Americans start campaigning for it now, or wait until Nintendo says they have no plans to localize it? I laughed when I read this, and than remembed how Nintendo showed the Xenoblade trailer back at E3 2009 . . . and than well . . . I hope NOA doesn't try to screw you guys over again. . . . Here we see a giant armoured sauropod drinking from a lake, what it doesn't relise though that it moments aways from getting brutally killed and transformed into a new piece of shoulder armour . . .(From Gaf)

Seemed like a nintendo direct to rise the company stock, because if you are a Nintendo follower, you know Zelda, Mario, Mario Kart and Smash Brothers are coming. Still, I want that Yoshi game, and it makes me happy that Nintendo ignored all the Artoon developed Yoshi games, lets pretend they never happened. Not really. Iwata said it has been a long time since Yoshi has been on a home console the last time being Yoshi Story. He didn't say it has been a long time since there has been a Yoshi game period.

All in all, a great Nintendo Direct. While 3D Mario, Mario Kart, LoZ U and Smash Bros. news isn't a surprise, it's satisfying to hear about them. Yarn Yoshi and SMTxFE were a nice surprise, especially the latter (I always love me some Fire Emblem, and I've always been interested in SMT) and Monolith's "X" game (which reminds me that I've got to ask my aunt to buy me Xenoblade Chronicles before se comes over) gives me this Monster Hunter Vibe to it, but even grander, with its bigger world map, enemies and giant battle mechs.
Finally, I loved seeing my favorite Legend of Zelda game getting a revisualization, and I hope they go along and add a Master Quest and/or at least just make the Triforce Hunt at the end more engaging. In the end, can't wait more info on Pikmin 3, damn you nintendo for pulling that sensitive string xD

Thinking a bit more about X, I think the game is actually a fusion of both Xenoblade and Soma Bringer. Soma Bringer was meant to be a 4 player rpg, and I think this is the evolved form of it.

I knew that Good-Feel would make a Yoshi game, but why can't it do what Wario Land Shake It did?

I'm very happy with the Wind Waker HD remake, though I'm positive a Majora's Mask HD remake would be absolutely gorgeous. But anyway, here are the awesome additions in the Wind Waker HD remake I know will never happen:
- new dungeon on Greatfish Isle, new boss defeated by Grappling Hook and Deku Leaf, rewards for clearing the dungeon are the new Zora's Flippers item (to swim faster) and information on where Jabun went (he went to Outset Island)
- new dungeon on Fire Mountain, new boss defeated by Ice Arrows, reward for clearing the dungeon is Power Bracelets
- new dungeon on Ice Ring Isle, new boss defeated by Fire Arrows, reward for clearing the dungeon is Iron Boots
- new optional dungeon on Tingle Island (let's just call it Tingle's Tower), collect all Tingle Statues via Tingle Tuner (you use the Game Pad) to unlock Tingle's Tower, Tingle is playable when you play Command Melody, use Tingle to solve puzzles like you already do with Medli and Makar, defeat new boss (Uncle Rupee) with Tingle and his bombs, rewards for clearing the dungeon is the new sail upgrade (to speed up the sailing) and a 10% discount for Tingle's translation services
Yeah, it would be nice for Wind Waker HD to have as many dungeons as Ocarina of Time did and that sail upgrade... But alas... Might as well accept the game for what it is, a HD remake and nothing more.

So we can have Link and Zelda in SS style and Tetra and Ganondorf in WW style

Thanks, Flint. Personally, I think this Zelda roster seems plausible for SSB4: Skyward Sword characters Link Zelda (gets new Down+B move) Impa (Sheik equivalent) Wind Waker characters Toon Link (hopes he gets to parachute with Deku Leaf after he uses Up+B sword spin, pounds with Skull Hammer for Smash Side+A instead of a generic sword slash, and shoots Fire & Ice Arrows instead of plain old Arrows) Toon Zelda (if the Forbidden Seven thing means anything just hope there's no Toon Sheik, I'd rather have Tetra) Ganondorf (dual swords, fuck yeah! ;D but I hope he keeps his Side+B move from Brawl) Tingle would be fun to play as in SSB4 but I am afraid he might not get in again, considering Balloon Fighter is becoming more and more relevant lately (3DS Ambassador Program, Nintendo Land, Famicom Trial Virtual Console) and Sakurai did consider adding Balloon Fighter in Melee at one point. The whole "useless without balloons" excuse is debunked when you consider Olimar is useless without Pikmin. Not to mention the irrational hatred Americans have towards Tingle...

I dunno, I'd say Tingle makes for a better character than generic balloon fighter. With all the games he's been in it isn't difficult to think up a creative, original moveset for the guy (which apparently is a big hurdle for all those old school characters).

- new dungeon on Fire Mountain, new boss defeated by Ice Arrows, reward for clearing the dungeon is Power Bracelets - new dungeon on Ice Ring Isle, new boss defeated by Fire Arrows, reward for clearing the dungeon is Iron Boots I always thought that the Fire Mountain island and the Ice Ring Isle were mini-dungeons that didn't live up to a potential. In my opinion, they felt more like a nuisance then a cool place to go, like the Ice Cave in Ocarina of Time. Bosses wouldn't be necessary, in my opinion, but something along the lines of a miniboss could work.

In the end, can't wait more info on Pikmin 3, damn you nintendo for pulling that sensitive string xD They changed the logo too, with red/orange flowers on the "3". ...And they didn't even show us what kind of Pikmin they belong to.
