The good news after watching Sakurai presentation you can buy a Aerith Mii Fighter costume and recreate the below image while listening to more than 2 FFVII music tracks. Sephiroth is one of gamings most popular characters, there's nothing strange about him being added. While I own FFVII on Steam I have still yet to play it, I could never tell if he was naturally popular or just forced popular (as in getting cameos in things like Kingdom Hearts) The presentation certainly raised my appreciation for the character, he's got an interesting moveset and 4.5 times more music than Cloud.
NoA will be hosting a presentation for Super Nintendo World on the 18th. NO GAME CONTENT WILL BE FEATURED

Here is the Super Nintendo World Direct:
This looks fantastic! Also, great to see Miyamoto host a Direct again. He even does Iwata's "Direct" salute!
Also, I am totally up for mushroom-flavored popcorn.

I like the way the new Smash fighter is presented.
Also, nice to see Famicom Detective Club in action. And we're finally getting a release date!
Nothing of my interest personally, but it's a pretty nice presentation.

- A Smash Bros character(s) that wasn't on a leaked list (like one claiming that Ryu Hayabusa, Rayman and Doomguy were next). - Famicom Detective Club getting a western release! (though possibly download only for the west). - Skyward Sword with button controls but no word on any other improvements like increased text speed or not having item notification messages pop up in every new play session, "you found a desert cicada! blah, blah blah!"- Neon White looked fun - Mario Golf now with speed golf, OH YEAH! - Triangle Strategy looks interesting. - A online mulitplayer dodgeball game with a CGI character trailer that looked more interesting than the actual game reveal from the same dev that made Mario Kart Live. - The shambling corpse that is the Plants Vs Zombie franchise. - The actual interesting shambling corpse that is Stubbs the Zombie returning. - Remember Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 being published by Nintendo because it's now DC Comics turn as DC SUPERHEROS GIRLS (TM): TEEN POWER IS BEING PUBLISHED BY NINTENDO. How and why? - Warp pipe item in Animal Crossing looks cool. - Splatoon 3 with bow/arrow ink weapon and the ability to spawn into battle at different locations. Seems a bit surprising that wasn't saved for a Switch successor. Now it brings up an interest question, if Animal Crossing and Splatoon use the same dev team, does that mean ACNH content will wind down soon?

Overall, I thought it was a really good presentation. It was refreshing to have a full-fledged Nintendo Direct for a change.
Detailed thoughts:
- Pyra/Mythra in Smash
Finally, a Xenoblade Chronicles 2 rep! Been hoping for this for a long time. Although, you probably know I was pulling for Rex, but I always understood that Pyra & Mythra were a real possibility. Either way, no complaints from me.
Now I just need to consider whether I want to pay full price for a game I feel lukewarm about just because I'm excited about some paid DLC.
- Famicom Detective Club
It's really cool that these are getting an official English release. It's not really my style of game, though.
- Legend of Mana, SaGa Frontier Remastered
Even though I'm not a big Mana fan, Legend of Mana is one I've always wanted to try. Aside from looking and sounding gorgeous, it's also one of those weird, eccentric Akitoshi Kawazu games.
As for SaGa, I have yet to actually try any of the other SaGa games that are now available on the Switch (except for Final Fantasy Legend II, which I own the original Game Boy cartridge of), but SaGa Frontier is the one I would be most interested in. Especially since it includes the eighth scenario that was cut from the original version.
- Mario Golf: Super Rush
I've been hoping for a while that there would be a Mario Golf game on the Switch. Not because I'm a big fan of previous Mario Golf games (in fact, I've only played NES Open), but because I just kinda felt like playing a video golf game. But as Fry mentioned on Twitter, the environments seem a little bland. But the Speed Golf mode looks funny, and something about seeing Bowser dressed in casual golf clothes makes me laugh.
I do hope there's a demo, though. This might be one of those "try before I buy" situations. I tried both demos of Mario Tennis Aces, and didn't care for it at all. They just made it way too complex for a tennis game. I hope they don't do the same for this one.
- Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection
I've played Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge on Wii U. It's... OK. I still played it a good bit, though. I am interested in trying the first two, which are considered much better, but they're the Sigma versions, which fans consider inferior to Tomonobu Itagaki's original versions. That might not matter to me, though, so I'll keep an eye on this.
- Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Expansion Pass
Of course I'm getting this.
- The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD
Really happy to see this. I, personally, liked the motion controls, but I hope the addition of non-motion controls helps more people to see what a great Zelda game this is. I'd like to know if there are any other changes, enhancements or QoL features. It seems like there should be more to it. I don't think this will be a day-one purchase for me.
(Also, having Eiji Aonuma appear and then say he had nothing to share about Breath of the Wild 2 was the biggest troll.)
- Splatoon 3
...OK. I still haven't played Splatoon 2 outside of the free demo last year. And I know that game came out in 2017, but for some reason, it still feels a little soon for a sequel.
The addition of bow weapons is pretty cool, though.

I enjoyed the Direct, but it lost momentum for me after Mario Golf. Pyra/Mythra, Famitan, and Samurai Warriors 5 in the first section sealed the deal for me.

Not directly related to the presentation, but someone made a video explaining the references in the Pyra/Mythra Smash DLC fighter trailer:

Yeah, I saw that. The creator is known for making Xenoblade analysis videos. I was thinking of maybe starting a thread for Pyra & Mythra in Smash, but I was worried it might come off as too self-indulgent. Then again, that's pretty much what this forum is for anyway, right?

Well, I'm satisfied. Between Metroid and Advance Wars, it was pretty good for my tastes.
