I figured that before it starts, we could use this thread to start up discussion about it in some form. First things first, a preliminary announcement from a month ago has confirmed that a Mario game and the next (third) Pikmin for the Wii U will definitely be showing up. Until then, we can use this thread to post some predictions and other speculation for it. Here I go: -Paper Mario and Animal Crossing for 3DS finally get their heads out of the gutter and get much more info, release dates, and final names. -Luigi's Mansion 2 gets more info and a release date. (It's like they forgot that they announced this game last year! But then again, that's nothing new) -WarioWare titles for both 3DS and Wii U. And possibly connectivity between the two, to boot. -Retro Studios unveils their project at last. (Not sure what it would be myself) -The next Smash Bros. may get a teaser trailer or some other minor form of announcement.

Let the fun begin! - Retro talks about their hidden project at last, with a trailer and possibly a release date. Hopefully a F-Zero game, but could be Starfox. Or anything really. But it will sell like hotcakes.
- More Info on both Mario games, NSMBMii and NSMB2
- Real info on Luigi's Mansion 2 and Paper Mario 3DS (release date, more trailers with , etc)
- 2-4 Nintendo launch titles (and x number of future titles) revealed for the WiiU, including Pikmin 3 with preview & gameplay trailers. Miyamoto explains why it took so long for there to be another Pikmin game.
- Valve does some stuff. I throw money at Gabe.
- Sakurai reveals nothing big on Super Smash Bros. 4, says he just started development and everything is up in the air. Hints at the return of certain characters, nothing surprising. Possibly give out the name of the next SSB.
- More info on about the Nintendo Network
Also something I'd like to see, but don't expect it to happen are: - Valve helps out with the Nintendo Network
- Sakurai mentions how fans of SSBB make their own content for the game, and mentions the possibility of something along the lines of a Workshop for SSB4 (like the Steam Workshop).
- Nintendo brings Fire Emblem 13 outside of Japan.

Oh man, I wholly forgot about all those to be released 3DS games.
I'll go ahead and predict that most of the conference is spent explaining how the WiiU works by demoing a bunch of Mii minigames. Other than that they'll show off a bunch of new trailers for those 3DS games and some really stupid new gimmick app for WiiU. Retro's teaser trailer is just a logo of Starfox. My glass is half empty
Also I don't expect a teaser or any information on Smash4 until maybe E3 2013, which will cause many a Nintendo fan to moan disappointedly across the world wide web.

Rumors I've seen say Retro might be working on a Starfox Metroid crossover, which is just :stare:. It'd be cool though.
We want to do the IRC chat this year? I can set one up again if so.

For those that haven't heard of the RUMORED Retro developed Starfox/Metroid crossover game. Details at the link.Lets get two Nintendo franchises that aren't doing so well and combine them together! That'll make 'em sell even more right?Things I want to see. - Nintendo : Valve Doing something together, . . . And here's for the latest Iwata Asks is CEO of Valve Corporation Gabe Newell . . .- Some more (minor) features of the Wii U Tablet controller are revealed . . . Vitality sensor makes a comeback? WITH A VENGEANCE- Wii U (better) version of WiiWare is revealed. Indie developers flock towards the Wii U. - Online with account system. Nintendo stance on DLC which is fair to all and doesn't exploit anyone. - Eternal Darkness 2, (Silicon Knights is working on a game that "people want them to make" and Nintendo renewed the trademark at the same time as Luigi's Mansion and look what happened to LM . . .) - Nintendo : Valve So important, I'm mentioning it twice. - A serious effort of Nintendo to reach out to the western developers for support/exclusives. - Sakarui gives out some sort of teaser/hint to whether the next SSB will be similar to previous games or a completely new way to play. - Nintendo working on a Sonic game. - Retro's new game is unveiled. - Some sort of new game compilation that has all of last years E3 tech demos. - Kirby 20th anniversary disk is full of content, and much better than the Mario 25th anniversary disk. (Also has KAR in it and millions get to play it for the first time without game reviewers telling them it sucks because it's "simple"). - I lied . . . Nintendo : Valve 3rd time's the charm. Things Nintendo won't be likely to talk about. - Nintendo comments on the releases/sales of Xenoblade/The Last Story manly because no American journalists ask about it, just like last years E3. - EarthBound. EDIT: This . . .

Rumors I've seen say Retro might be working on a Starfox Metroid crossover, which is just :stare:. It'd be cool though. \. Comics nothing, there was a GI Joe/ Transformers crossover back in the cartoon days. Cobra Commander was called Old Snake. Also, we all know they are going to announce the Nintendo Gabe: The lights grow dark, followed by the room being illuminated by the screen saying "NINTENDO." After this, Shigeru Miyamoto and Reggie Fils-Aime both fly into the theatre on jetpacks from opposite ends of the room. They are both screaming at the top of their lungs, and they high five as they pass each other in mid air. They both drop down onto the stage and put on sunglasses. Flames rise up behind them as badass music begins to play. Then, Reggie and Shigeru say in unison (Shiggy in Japanese, Reggie in English,) "And now, we are extremely pleased to announce our new console, coming out tomorrow... THE NINTENDO GABE." After this is uttered, the audience starts screaming in terror as eagles scream to announce the arrival of the one and only GABE NEWELL, who bursts into the room from the ceiling. He lands on the stage, creating a massive shock wave that destroys all the cameras, thus ending video coverage of the event. As the audience regains their bearings, Gabe begins to rise into the air. He says in a clear, booming voice, "Half Life 2: Episode Three." The audience begins to scream hysterically, partly because of this momentous announcement, but mostly because at this point Gabe Newell has set fire to the entire stage, incinerating Shigeru Miyamoto and Reggie Fils-Aime, who explode into a torrent of 500,000,000 copies of Half Life 2: Episode Three. The games mercilessly barrage the audience, causing many causalities. The remaining audience members get up to see Gabe Newell rising into the heavens as the flames engulf the theatre, causing it to explode, which eradicates everyone inside along with all the copies of Episode Three. Nobody at E3 acknowledges these events, and the convention continues without a hitch.

A Pokémon battling game for Wii U? I mean, there's no "Stadium" yet for Black/White and it'd come out just in time for Black 2 / White 2 compatibility. There's a chance they have been holding it back until the release of the Wii U. Yeah, basically stuff I posted in the 2012 prediction thread, but that one was among the most logical ones

Here are my predictions.
1) The Wii U gets a new (better) name. Like Revolution! No, it's not very revolutionary. Unlike the Wii. (Dammit, Nintendo...why Wii?!)
2) Golden Sun New Moon/Shining Earth/Bright Dusk/Whirling-Vortex-Issue-That-We-Never-Solved-But-Ended-Dark-Dawn-On-A-Cliffhanger-With will be announced for 3DS.
3) A Pokemon game will be announced for 3DS. But it will be gimmicky. Maybe a collection of minigames.
4) A Mario crossover will be announced. I mean, think about it. Pokemon/Nobunga's Ambition? This Metroid/Star Fox debacle? Call me crazy, but maybe Nintendo's trying something new here...
5) Sony, aware that most of their presentations have been embarrassing and meme-worthy, take the safe route and not hire any new speakers, instead opting for some old ones. Then Kevin Butler's pants fall down and it wins the expo.
6) Ubisoft talks about a new Beyond Good and Evil and all but BEGS people to actually play it this time.
7) There will be a new Jak and Daxter.
8) Paper Mario 3DS and Animal Crossing 3DS will be released by the end of the year.
9) A teaser is shown for SSB4 (remember how long we had to wait after seeing Brawl's teaser?). In it we see Mario, Link, Kirby, and Pikachu joined by Snake and Sonic. Then Mega-Man shows up and the auditorium loses their shit. (Also Tails and Raiden appear)

I'll go ahead and predict that most of the conference is spent explaining how the WiiU works by demoing a bunch of Mii minigames. You could call them..."Miinigames." ;D Lets get two Nintendo franchises that aren't doing so well and combine them together! That'll make 'em sell even more right? Funny how Metroid only started tanking with Other M. HMMM I WONDER WHY Seeing as how Silicon Knights is currently owned by Microsoft, no. No there will not be another Eternal Darkness. Half Life 2: Episode Three. Hahahaha no. Valve's missed the entire point of Episodic games. Given how long it's been since HL2E2, and the fact that there's a new source engine either already out or on its way, it's just going to be straight-up Half-Life 3. ----------- Okay. So. Unless Nintendo's E3 press conference is on a Wednesday, I will unfortunately not be able to attend the "livegasm" that we tend to turn into. But here are my predictions nonetheless: 1// Nintendo will announce that the Wii U will use an online system that is counter-intuitive and not user-friendly. 2// Gabe Newell will not drop down from the sky and break all of the cameras and announce Half-Life 3 for the Wii U. Since Valve games are very heavily reliant on internet-capatability and Nintendo is internetphobic, the two cancel each other out. Also, Valve has confirmed that they're not bringing anything heavy to E3 anyway. Not to mention the fact that the Wii U will likely not have the technical capabilities to run games like Left 4 Dead or Portal. Well, at least not without them looking like Half-Life 1. #Zing 3// Pikmin 3 will be conspicuously absent. It will become IGN's new "Kid Icarus." 4// No SSB4 trailer. Generic mention of how it will utilize the 3DS. Nothing we don't already know. Fans cry out in anguish. (As an aside, I don't want there to be an SSB trailer until it's further along into development. I hated how torturous it was to wait for the game and any coinciding announcements.) 5// Nintendo makes mention of how awesome DLC is. Because they're five years behind the times, they promise some piddly DLC that constitutes as baby steps. They don't sell well and Nintendo decides not to pursue the idea further. 6// Something about second- and third-party developers that are not Retro Studios or Valve. Because, Christ, guys. There are more than just those two. 7// Something else pessimistic. Bad habit of mine, I've realized. When it comes to these prediction threads, I always focus on the negative. This E3 mayn't suck despite my protestations, but I don't expect it to be rainbows and ice cream. And if there is ice cream, it'll be that fucksgusting coffee ice cream with the coffee beans in it.

Well, at least not without them looking like Half-Life 1. #Zing We did get to see the Wii U's graphics power at last E3... It put all the other systems (and a lot of Hollywood movies) to shame, IIRC. If that Star Fox/Metroid thing is true... I'd play it. I'd prefer a full Star Fox game from Retro, though. That'd be awesome.

I remember when the Gamecube was revealed I didn't believe the actual games would look as good as the tech demos... but then they looked exactly the same! So I'm choosing to trust my eyes this time.
