I feel the same way, kirbychu. I think it's the direction. I don't care for the "gold" concept powering NSMB2 at all. I don't want to collect a gazilion coins, I want to platform. Despite the return of the Raccoon Suit, despite the knowledge that it'll probably be fun, even despite the Koopalings getting another shot at glory...I'm just not digging the game design. NSMBU however looks great and is the New SMB experience I was hoping for.

U seems more newer-feeling and original than 2. It has at least more ideas and gimmicks put into it than 2 is (COIN COLLECTING AND RETURN OF THE REAL, UNCUT RACCOON SUIT) and I'm glad it's pretty inspired by SMW. (-l,l-)
I dunno why they even bother doing 2... but at least we can do some comparison. (-lwl-);

I like the "subtle" message with the mass coin collecting in NSMB2. That's all the game is even for, on Nintendo's part. To make them more money, and nothing more. It doesn't even look like they put a whole lot of effort into it either. But rest assured, NSMB2 (3DS) really is boring compared to NSMBU (Wii U), which at least has a lot more to justify it as something more interesting.

While I'll admit I definitely also prefer NSMBU for a number of reasons - most notably the fact its another 4 player NSMB, and NSMBW was totally fucking boss, I think making decisions on the amount of effort put into NSMB2 based on 3 levels and a trailer is a bit.... rich. Ba dum tish.
NSMB2 seems more speed run focused. I'm not sure thats what I want, either, but I don't know yet.

Those minigames (in the video) actually look surprisingly fun, and use the Gamepad in a good way. EDIT: Nintendo made a video showing Mr. Iwata's Last E3 Meeting with Mr. Miyamoto and Reggie (And special guest! WHO COULD IT BE?! Maybe the embed is a hint?)

The Wii U will be shown on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon this evening only in the U. S., but he might show that segment the next day on his website at latenightwithjimmyfallon.com (NOTE: They block viewers outside of the U. S., unless the viewers do some hacking like changing their IP address.).

Jimmy Fallon Wii U footage. (Before he showed off the Wii U he mistakenly called it a Wii add on, not present in this video though and he appears to have been corrected).
The auidence really starts appluading after the rifle scope footage for ZombiU though.
The video would have been better if they showed off some asymetrical game footage though, instead of just Takamaru's Ninja Castle.
