Nintendo Land? That's bullhobo Give me a real theme park. And Bobby Tokyo, E3 2009 was waaaay worse. No 2009 was good. (NSMB Wii SMG2, Metroid Other M) Now 2008, (Cammie*, lack of games, Shaun White) was horrible. * It wasn't really her fault, it's just because she became a scapegoat for the whole thing. EDIT: Heard from the chat on the NitnendoE3 site that # No Zelda is trending on twitter (don't know how I can check that), but people really wanted a new Zelda, 6 months after the old one . . . Which spent like 5 years in development . . . People are so fucking stupid when it comes to "development/making stuff" timeframes.

top far right seems to be Jack Frost from SMT, which I mentioned in the chat. Anybody know what the hell else it could be? I'm hard pressed to think of anything Nintendo related that it could be.

Well, I expected more Nintendo IP´s so its a little disappointed. Thankfully There is still a 3DS conference coming (and that logo does look as Jack Frost from persona games, but I can bet you is the logo for the Luigi portion of Nintendoland)

Another 'Wii Play' game? Regarding the new Zelda, it wasn't unrealistic to expect one for the 3DS. Did they say the 3DS thing tomorrow is just going to be NSMB2, Luigi's Mansion, Paper Mario and third party games? Or is there a possibly of more first party games being announced?

Game and Wario sound nice, but is it really just another minigame collection? Also Project P-100 from Platinum Games (Bayanetta/Madworld) new Nintendo published game e3.nintendo.com/games/#/wiiu/projectp-100Looks like Pikmin, meets superheroes meets Line Attack Heroes (remember that?, no, no you don't). EDIT: from GAF

That project P-100 looks pretty fun. Not 50 dollar fun (yet) though
And that Zelda trailer... as good as it looks there's something fishy about the whole thing taking place in the same room. And it hasn't been posted on any other site. Probably somebody trying to yank some Nintendo fanboy chains.

The Zelda trailer its , it looks so un-nintendo, look how both Link and the Mask Salesman have diferent proportions to the original.

Zelda trailer is fake. If it were real, other sites would be reporting it.

Wait a minute....Where the hell was Retro Studios with their secret project? A rumor? Maybe one that didn't even deserve a "trailer" like Majora's Mask's xP And yay! Wario Ware.

Sorry I wasn't here chatting with you guys. I was Tweeting instead, and not risking anything slowing down the show feed.
I think we can all agree that Nintendo's conference was a bit of a damp squib. Here are a few things I noted:
Graphics Capability The Wii U brings Nintendo up to current gen standards. Now, graphics aren't everything for sure, but when you kick off with a game like Pikmin, which was a showcase of the GameCube's graphics, and then you make it look barely better than the GameCube games, it's a little disappointing. There were some nice effects thrown in, but it still looked like mossy textures on some low-poly backgrounds for the most part.
Everything else Nintendo showed, even Project P-100, look like Wii games. This is disappointing, especially considering how great some of the third party offerings look.
Software This event wasn't two years into a console lifecycle, when the poorly-planned experiments are wheeled out, but the first true showing of the Wii U, launching later this year. This means there is one question that matters: Why would I want to buy a Wii U? I don't mean for its online ability or its funny controller, but what games will be available for me to play?
The biggest whoops from the audience after Pikmin 3 were for ports of 360/PS3 titles. Nintendo Land was confusing at first until everyone realised it's just Wii Play with cameos (including an unexpected one from Nazo no Murasamejou). What else was there? A 2D Mario game? Wii Fit? Nothing groundbreaking, no surprises...
Even third party exclusives were a Rayman game we knew about, ZombiU that was unveiled yesterday (and which I suspect will be this system's Red Steel - remember Red Steel? No, me neither) and a Lego game.
I reiterate, Nintendo is launching this console later this year. THIS YEAR! What are we going to be playing on it?
A quick interlude One thought I had is people divide games into "must-haves" and "shovelware", but there's a big pool of games that I've dubbed "tide-me-overs". You know the ones. You will buy them if there's nothing else to buy. I now class 2D Mario games in this category, and Pikmin has always been in this category. That's not saying they're bad games, but they don't glue you to the screen like a Mario Galaxy or a Zelda.
This E3, and not just Nintendo's conference, has almost entirely been tide-me-over games.
Lessons not Learned Nintendo said they learned from the launch of the Nintendo 3DS. Today proved they have not.
The lesson was that a system only sells thanks to strong software support. Nintendo launched the 3DS with a handful of tide-me-overs and ports and had a disastrous launch window. The Wii U is looking like it will launch with much the same. Even the Wii launched with Twilight Princess, which meant once the minigames became tiresome I could sink my teeth into an actual game.
The GameCube launched with Luigi's Mansion and Pikmin, two tide-me-overs that had to last well over a year. Thankfully they also had Smash Bros. Melee within the launch window, which kept the fans happy. Not so this time.
Unless they surprise us at tonight's developer roundtable with a preview video of SSB4 like they did with Brawl. That would tide me over...
