There's also the button that brings up the menu (treasure list in Great Cave Offensive, stored abilities in Milky Way Wishes, etc) and wasn't there a seperate one to drop your ability, too? It's been a while since I played.

There's no way to just drop the ability without spawning a helper - this was later added in Ultra.
And yes, there's a seperate menu button seperate from pause. Unless they map one function to the unwieldy B button, there is not enough button on the Wii Remote.
This game's already out in Japan, although I didn't feel like buying it at its current price. Therefore, I don't know much about this game's button mapping...

If it's the US version of the show, this is actually a punishment, not a bonus. Ah, you know though guys, this is natural to happen. I dunno why NOA would wish to go there to get the japanese versions, work their asses off doing the subtitles for them and then post for the minority of Kirby-enthutiastics. It's more easier to market the dubs since people who aren't necessarily Kirby-fans grew up with them and they are in the native language. I'm not trying to defend the dub here or anything, I'm just trying to explain why it can't be otherwise (in case you wanted the japanese versions of the anime episodes.) I mean, we don't even get the mangas. (-l.l-) This isn't the first time Nintendo has given out the Kirby TV series, there was also the Kirby TV Wii Channel, which showed episodes of it (in english). The Channel only got released in PAL regions though. (Still can't understand why they bothered to make the channel though. It's not like anyone was demanding to watch the show and I assume all the episodes (Jp and Eng) are on YouTube).

Just got the game, and I'm enjoying it, and the soundtrack, and stuff. I'm honestly not bothered that they included the english 4Kids dub of "Kirby: Right Back at ya." (I was never much of an anime-purist.) I will admit some of the voices are a bit odd, (some of the Japanese ones were to if you ask me) and it was a shame 4Kids replaced the show's BGM, (including the game songs in the show) but it's not like the Kirby anime dub was completely "unwatchable," and it still had some amusing moments. (I kinda like how they made Escargoon sound like Paul Lynde.) One gripe I have with Kirby's Dream Collection is you can't disable the suspend save feature, (even when turning the game off unlike the VC versions) which is a bit annoying for some games that already have a save feature. Sense I usually like to start off from the title screen personally, (and instead if you ever wish to ever see the title screen that you have to enter a simple button code to do it) and I usually use a GameCube controller, (to try to save on battery juice) which makes it awkward, because there's no "home button" on it. (So then everytime you start a game, it starts off suspended no matter what you do, unless somebody KNOWS a way to disable the suspend somehow. Is there a way?) So switching between games, and the suspend feature is a bit of a pain. (Though, Kirby 64 doesn't use it being an N64 game.) Still, it's a great compilation, and I like the extras they included. Challenge mode is fun to, and almost like a separate game of it's own.

Oh, I'm not an anime purist either. I actually find most anime pretty hard to watch, regardless of what language it's in. It's just that the 4kids dub of Kirby happens to be the most unwatchable television broadcast I've ever seen. Including test signals. I can't honestly think of a single aspect of the show that I wouldn't classify as "brain-meltingly obnoxious".

Boss Hog Dedede is pretty great Pretty much this. I thought it was the best possible voice to give him. At least, assuming we don't get the bizarre redemption story we got in the games.

The Kirby anime woulda been fine if the two most obnoxious characters didn't get the most screen time (by which I mean Tiff and Meta Knight).
The girl doing Tiff's English voice seriously could not act, and the guy doing Meta Knight's English voice gave what was probably the single worst Zorro impression I've ever heard. I don't mind the idea of him having a Spanish accent, it's just that the actor they got to do the voice was so f#$%ing bad at it. Oi.
Dedede and Escargoon were easily the best part of the show. It also suffers from severe fast pacing issues since 4Kids as per usual cut a lot of the scenes shorter than necessary.

I respect Kirby making it this far in the gaming industry and getting this much praise, but half of me is annoyed that this "Pink Blob" has gotten a better anniversary gift than Founding Legends like Mario, Donkey Kong, and Pac-Man.
Well, the blob is more popular in Japan, so...

Eh, a Donkey Kong collection wouldn't be too big- it'd be DKC1-3, maybe DKL, and if you were really crazy 94. As much as I'd dig it, I don't think most people would want to blow fifty bucks on it. I'm not even sure what you'd do for Pac-Man that'd be worth money.
No excuse for Mario, though.

As for Pac-Man, there are enough games to warrant at least two collections, one for mazes and one for platformers. I'm not gonna bother listing them, that's Wikipedia's job. And yes, I agree. No excuse for Mario. Why didn't they at least redo the graphics/controls to make them look and play like NSMB games? That or add fucking Super Mario World!!!!!!

I thought about DK64, but it's entirely too big for a collection like that. Plus, I think it's rights issues (Jetpack) and the expansion pack make it harder to use than the others. It's not even on the Virtual Console.
A Pac-Man Land collection could be cool. I'm not sure the maze games deserve their own collection, though. Maybe one big collection- Land 1-3, Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Super Pac-Man, Pac-Man Jr. and Pac-Man II: The New Adventures.
Oh, and throw in Galaga and Dig Dug. They deserve it for Pac-Man Land 1.

The thing is, Hal cares more for his mascot than Nintendo.
