I stop going here for awhile and all of a sudden these forums get a fancy upgrade! Hard time finding my way around these fancy new buttons... Anyway on-topic: new scans, new reveals!   Yeah pretty crappy scans, I'm sure better ones 'll pop up sooner or later. Either way: - Finally a Ram Pokemon, woop. Panda's cool too. That yellow thing reminds me of that crazy frog anime for some reason. - Apparently you can ride Pokemon now? Does that mean I can cruise around on my awesome Bidoof?? - Customisation! Alright so they only show off changing hair/skin colour but it's better than nothing! |

Well I've never felt more "meh" about new Pokemon before. Really I don't hate these Pokemon, nor do I like them... They are just kind of boring.

(Oh, finally I have an excuse to post here. It's been too long.)
I got to be honest, up until a few days ago, I wasn't very interested in this new gen, mostly because of the things that they were showing off were uninteresting or typical (I'm currently interested in new game mechanics and possible story arcs), but after reading a few rumors here and there, even if they aren't true, they still got me "hyped". Still, I doubt all thing until confirmed by a credible source, so I won't be truly interested until said info is confirmed by gamefreak themselves. From the scale of what I read, if true, the info would probably be released around E3.
And just to not sound like a madman rambling about the voices he hears in his head, I'll just say I read those rumors on Pokebeach. Spoilers are obvious, so to each his own. Personally, I needed some juicy info, even if it turns out to be false, like cotton candy.

The first ones to be shown are usually the simple "cute" ones. I love how most people freak out about the designs every generation, then when the game comes out everyone will go grab that damn panda bear because they want its awesome evolved form.

On the other hand I think these are all pretty neat so I'm slightly worried the final evolutions will end up kinda dull. So yeah, official website is up and with it a new trailer: I gotta say the trainer's regular waggle looks... pretty lame. Having those 3D models instantly face a new direction looks kind of choppy. I like how Lizard dude's unfolding his ears with his attack animations though Huge image of the new region (from Pokebeach). Apparently X-Y goes the oldschool RPG route of having snowy areas wherever the hell it feels like it |

I was going to skip the 6th gen games because there are simply too many Pokémon for me to collect and too little time for me to catch them all (and training/evolving them takes too long)... but yesterday, I bought Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D at my local Target and they offered to reduce the price by $10 if I preordered Pokémon X or Y... I gave it a thought and decided to get Pokémon X.
It is kinda funny how I first got into Pokémon games with Pokémon Gold, just when they introduced two new types (Dark and Steel)... and I went through Sapphire, LeafGreen, and Emerald... before I stopped playing Pokémon altogether... and now I am getting back into the game just when they are now introducing a new type (Fairy).

I love the detail about Fairy types being weak to Steel, just like the Fay were vulnerable to iron. Such a nice little detail.

Looks pretty cool. I love that it unsheathes itself for battle. I guess the "teeth" and the lower pair of "eyes" on the artwork there are actually just the sword blade visible through holes in the sheath? Looks like they match up with the lines on it in the screenshot there.
