There are also two new forms for Vivillion and an alt Pokemon from the story that will be given as an event. I'm not gonna post them for spoiler's sake, but it's all pretty underwhelming.

I literally bought a 3DS, just to play this game. I dropped out on the Pokemon series somewhere around Diamond/Pearl, but X and Y completely renewed all my interest and nostalgia for the series.
So yeah, anyone want to battle/trade and stuff?

So you never played any of the Gen 5 games? Aww...I liked Gen 5...
Well, you picked a good game to get back with. What's your friend code?

Ha yeah, Black & White were great. In fact as singleplayer experiences go I liked those better than X&Y. All these (totally awesome) multiplayer features just keep distracting me from actually finishing the game! Still just got one badge here, it's actually becoming a bit embarrassing :V
I almost dropped out about because of D/P/P too. I actually replayed it before X&Y came out and I still don't enjoy them as much as the others. I think it's mostly because of that bigass mountain in the continent's center and the constant need of a HM slave to get around. That and the bland music. And the shortage of actual new mons (first time playing through 4/6 of my team were old monsters)
You still got your old cartridges? If you want to port over your old monsters you still need to transfer them the way of R/S/E --> D/P/P --> B/W sadly. If you want some old mons, like the gen3 starters, I can probably help you out this coming December.
I'll add you, but so far my team's still unevolved and worthless for battles, ha

I'm not really sure what it was about the third gen, something about it just didn't leave an impression on me. Like, I know I got relatively far (I had Rayquaza, Groudon, and one of those jet looking guys, not sure which), but I just don't remember much about it for whatever reason. I don't have my old games, which means when Pokebank comes out I'm going to be jumping through hoops to so much as see a Chimchar. (That thing's awesome)

Does any of our Canadian members have a remaining ICY SNOW Vivillon (or pre-evolved forms) that they could gift me? This is for Pokédex completion purposes

It's extremely unlikely that you'll find a Canadian with that pattern. The Icy Snow pattern is from the North West Territories and Nunavut, two of the least populated and most isolated regions in all of Canada.

If you give me a bit, I might be able to get an Icy Snow from a friend and trade it to you.
