Pokkén Pok Tournament
While that alone wouldn't convince me we're dealing with a traditional Pokemon fighter here, according to the bloke who runs Serebii one of Namco's developers for Soul Calibur tweeted (and deleted) about the Pokemon Gameshow. And with a name like that..
An actual 2d Pokemon fighter would be friggen' ACE. Sure it's not the 'import your mon - free roaming fighter' game certain people were hoping for ever since Stadium let them down, but I'll gladly take a traditional Poke fighter. I can see them focusing on mega evolution capable monsters - give all fighters the ability to transform during battle, kinda like Bloody Roar did.
And if it still ends up being some kinda WiiU stadium game, sure, that's cool too.

Sounds nice. And either way, it's going to be interesting. And yeah, even if it turns out to be a Stadium-like game, it's fine. We haven't had a Stadium-like game since... does Battle Revolution count?
My bet, umm.... Tekken fighters dueling with Pokémon? First Nobunaga (Pokémon Conquest) and now this, hmm...

This would fit in with what Iwata was saying about more unexpected partnerships. Colour me interested in this development.

Hadn't noticed the Fighting type icon. Until seeing that, I was almost sure it would be just a new battling game. Which we need anyway, for tournaments, etc.

It's the kanji for "big", but used in bonfires in Japanese festivals - also the meaning for Fire Blast's shape.

I was hoping for a manticore, instead we got this circus lion. Ohwell
Chespin's humptidumpty evolution... yeah. He's still so friggen' happy though! I hope that knight/witch/thief final evolutions theory ends up being true. Either way I'll pick Chespin no matter the end result... I HAVE ALREADY DECIDED!

Poodle's ability is halving all physical damage so I'm not sure if I'd ever evolve the dog in that case...
That lioness with the ponytail looks better than the male one, but still not one of the greatest evolution lines, in my opinion. And chubby Chespin's really grown on me. Hope it evolves into an armored Totoro.
