So this new leak is pretty convincing, but very disappointing. Arcadenik might be the only one to thoroughly enjoy it. It shows Duck Hunt Dog which is pretty cool, but it also has Dark Pit and Dr Mario. Real? Not? You be the judge.

I've been following this one for a bit. Kinda on the fence here. The most convincing thing is the Tomodachi Life room in the stage select screen also appeared, in a different angle, in one of the Famitsu scans a few days later. Yeah yeah, he could've gotten hold of the magazine and hardcore photoshopped that shit on time, but I dunno..
On the other hand Ganondorf and Wario look friggen' weird. Wario looks like he came straight out of the Brawl intro. And what's up with that roster placement. And Iceclimbers cut? Really? Supposedly the same leaker dude said they're gonna be DLC with Snake and a bunch of others, but that sounds even more out there.
That Duckhunt dog looks cute though and atleast we'd have another quadruped fighter with Ivysaur gone. Dr.Mario and Dark Pit are pretty damn blehh as possible clones, but I'd be totally cool with this in the end.

Supposedly some of the character portraits are photoshopped as well. A lot of people jumped on Shulk being an edit of Mac, but Dr. Mario is straight up a Mario render redone:

This has been debunked elsewhere, but some quick tidbits:
- Wario's model is definitely from Brawl. - Ganondorf's portrait is from Twilight Princess. - As stated, Shulk is an edited Little Mac. - As stated, Dr. Mario is an edit of an existing Mario render. - Bowser Jr. looks like an edit of an existing render as well, but it's hard for me to tell right off the bat. - Jigglypuff's render looks like its art from Pokémon Conquest. - The character icons don't have names on them, even though we've already seen footage that clearly shows that they're supposed to have names. - Character placement is weird. Yoshi is in the middle of the Mario characters and all three "clones" are tucked away in the corner. - The dog's render is competent, but it really doesn't look much like his original sprite. Also, they'd never name him "Duck Hunt". That's just stupid. - Big one: How can this really be a 3DS or even a 2DS if there's nothing dividing the top and bottom screens?

Awesome to see this one debunked so soon. Dark Pit and Dr Mario would piss me off so much.

Ah, this leak. I noticed it before, but generally speaking, I don't feel like opening rumour-based topics. There are lots of evidence both for and against the leak that has been pointed out by various people. I may as well list them here: For: - It got Melee Brinstar right. That stage was officially known on 19 August.
- Tomodachi Life stage shows a room that is also seen in a Famitsu scan, but at a different angle.
- The E3 demo shows Fox with a green background, but his background is blue here, matching the eShop prepaid card.
- The character arrangement order matches that of the E3 demo. Most fake leaks fail to pay attention to this.
- The odd placement of Dr. Mario, Dark Pit and Lucina is in line with Melee's treatment of clones.
Against: - The outfit of Ness does not follow the tradition of how it's depicted.
- In some images, the edge of the bottom screen clips into the top screen.
- Shulk's image looks like it is edited from Little Mac.
- Dr. Mario's image looks like it's edited from Mario's Mario series artwork.
- Character protraits of Wario and Ganondorf are in low quality.
- Yoshi is sandwiched between other Mario characters, violating Smash character selection screen traditions.
- Dr. Mario, Dark Pit and Lucina have odd placement.
- Human players have levels for some reason.
- ESRB takes videos showing most controversial contents and review them. They do not play the games.
I'm neutral on the truthfulness of the images myself, although I certainly hope the game is better than this. I am fine with the characters if this is not the entire lineup (I think they said something along the lines of "not everything unlocked" and "there are DLC fighters"). The stages, on the other hand, are lacking. No true Kirby stage besides that Game Boy thing? All Metroid gets is a returning level? Please tell me there are more stages. That Duckhunt dog looks cute though and atleast we'd have another quadruped fighter with Ivysaur gone. In VS Duck Hunt, the Dog is bipedal. - Big one: How can this really be a 3DS or even a 2DS if there's nothing dividing the top and bottom screens? Capture device, and the result is projected to a TV screen. Since this is supposed to be an ESRB leak, having this layout on the ESRB review video actually makes sense. (Not that I'm supporting or believing this leak.)

Ah, this leak. I noticed it before, but generally speaking, I don't feel like opening rumour-based topics. I just felt like since we had a whole board dedicated to SSB, it couldn't hurt. Plus, the Smash Bros announcement thread is getting pretty huge.

A rumor isn't an announcement either, so it's better off you made this thread instead.
Still, I'm inclined to believe this is bunk, even if the person behind this made a competent dog model.

Goofy quadruped Duckhunt dog > Bipedal jerkface Duckhunt dog >: ( There's also this so the possible render edits don't sway me much. All the other 'againsts' is what keeps me from really believing it though. But hey, three more weeks (probably less) before we got some actual video footage. Might aswell just wait it out.

Sorry, but that Mario gif isn't convincing at all.

The Dr. Mario actually looks more professional.

I kinda like how this "leaked" lineup looks, but also have some doubts. Some reveal in the upcoming days may solidify or kill these screeshots. They are interesting to watch, though, and looks like something Sakurai would do with the game.

Something i read on TV Tropes slightly related to DH representation . . . "According to an issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly that was showcasing early GameCube games, the creators mentioned trying to implement Assist Trophies in Melee. One of the ones mentioned in the magazine were the ducks from Duck Hunt who would fly around the stage and interfere with the fight."(And there was the trophy of 3d ducks in Melee as well). Now this always made me wonder, if they were considered for SSBM, why didn't they use it when AT became possible for Brawl? (Eg: 2d pixel ducks could fly around the stage or something). Maybe the idea could some how have evolved and became a scrapped but now viable fighter.

Okay, the more I look at that Mario/Dr. Mario render comparison, the more obvious it is that the "real" one being used there isn't real at all. It's a horrible photoshop job. It's pretty obvious on his eye, mouth and ear, and REALLY obvious where his hat meets his eyebrows. Somebody's taken another Mario image and lazily morphed it to match up with the Dr. Mario art used there. I'm not saying that means the Dr. Mario is real, but it looks more real than the Mario.
