Yeah that Linkha list seems the most legit right now. Then again even if it's 100% legit, Brawl had 7 characters in development that weren't playable in the end. Until there's video evidence of these unlocks (or any official confirmation of Smash DLC for that matter) I'm going with 'yeah, maybe'.

I see one: It does not feature Lucina. That leak was posted after Lucina was revealed, so it'd have no reason to mention her. I think he's talking about the screen that YL just posted. |

Pinpointed the source of that post I linked to. This pageGenuine 29 July post, not edited, and things in the list keeps coming true. I guess we really can say goodbye to Lucas et al...? That'd be awful. ...At the same time, I do wonder if this thing is true, how can they fit the rest of the characters into this pic:  Dixie, Chorus Men, Ridley, Mewtwo... Are some of them going to fit in the last lone row (which I pointed out to be its own thing, not interacting with the other rows)? I see one: It does not feature Lucina. That's not her left of Ike? おいやめろw これ、ひどすぎじゃないか？ ...Though seriously, perhaps she's hidden? That's too bad, since I want to play as her from the beginning. |

There's enough room left on that screen for 5 characters. 4 on the bottom row, and 1 on the next-to-bottom row.
'Course, for all we know there aren't any more.

Oh, yeah, you're right. =P But seriously, it may not have reason to feature her, but then, it also doesn't have reason to feature, oh, let's say Mario. It's sorta like this: If it's there, why not feature it? It's not a strong reason to not believe, but still, I'll reserve judgment. I never trust leaks no matter how close the release is. When it comes to baseless predictions, I prefer speculation over accusation. It's not only more fun, there's also less disappointment when you're wrong (although I still have to draft up a good number of drawings. =P) |

Let's see here. It looks like there could be room for one more character in the second-to-last row here.  And here, there could be one more stage that hasn't been unlocked yet. I bet it's the Rhythm Heaven character. And their stage would be unlocked with them. It would likely go in the second-to-last row of the stage, bumping Flat Zone 2 down to the last, which doesn't look so bad.  I refuse to believe that this means nothing. |

Well, there's Ice Climber enemies in the game, but it looks like those guys are gone. So... I'd guess enemies from a series appearing means nothing.

I refuse to believe that this means nothing. That's what I thought until none of these leaks mentioned the Ice Climbers...  (still holding out for the chance both a RH dude and IC are 'unknown' unlockables in the games actually)Also did we ever see the Polar Bear in another image aside from that PotD that was quickly pulled? |

Not officially, although it was used in publications like page 5 of Nintendo Dream's startup guide. I'll feel bad about the Ice Climbers if they really don't return. I'm completely satisfied with the newcomers - now bring the old ones back! |

Some clarification: Remember the pic that was showing most of the announced characters? This one:  Turns out it's from the Japanese eShop. My Japanese 3DS was used for something else that I can't confirm myself now, although I wouldn't have thought of going there anyway. I wouldn't use that unless they have 3D images and videos to show, which for some reason they're doing less and less over time. |
