There's a live Twitch stream going on all day in which they're interviewing Iga and making him play other metroidvania games (Rogue Legacy, Axiom Verge, etc.)

EDIT 2: All initial stretch goals reached in under seven hours! That means a second playable character, Nightmare Mode, and voice acting, including David Hayter as Gebel.
God, this sounds so awesome. I want to play this over Yooka-Laylee, to be honest. I love the SotN soundtrack. And David Haytor? Nice! This really deserves a Wii U release, but I could see myself getting it for PS4...even though I don't own one yet.

Yeah, the thing that made me nervous about Iga initially wanting to find a publisher rather than use Kickstarter was that I knew a traditional publisher would disregard the Wii U right off the bat. With Kickstarter, there's usually at least a stretch goal for Wii U. So it's very disappointing not to see it included.
I guess the reason is technical. The game will be developed in Unreal Engine 4, which does not support Wii U, so in order to port it, they'd have to create an entirely different build of the game in a different engine.
Still, I'm tempted to ask them why adding a Boss Rush mode costs as much as a brand new Ferrari, yet they can't afford to port the game to Wii U, but I don't want to be that guy.
The way it's looking, I'll probably end up playing it on PC, provided my PC will be able to run it. I don't think the game is expected to be finished until 2017 anyway.
You know I look at the numbers, and I can actually understand where the publishers are coming from. Iga has raised a lot of money, but he hasn't had had that many actual customers who bought the game. If this had been released via Konami in traditional methods the game would be considered a failure.
Kickstarter backer numbers aren't the end of it, though. For example, Shovel Knight was backed by around 15,000 people, then when it was eventually released for sale it sold 75,000 units in just the first month, not including the people who got it through Kickstarter. And that's for a game that had no established fanbase.

So, they're counting PayPal donations for the total, so they've technically hit the $2.5 million stretch goal (Classic Mode). Now they've got some mini-stretch goals that includes music by Jake Kaufman.
Also, they're finally teasing the Wii U stretch goal at $3 million, which should be doable at the rate it's going.

The "Basement Key" achievement has been, well, achieved, and the Wii U port stretch goal has been officially unveiled.
The interesting part is that the port will be handled by Armature Studios, which was founded by former Retro Studios guys who worked on Metroid Prime.
Here's their comment from the update page:
"When we were approached with the opportunity to assist with Bloodstained on Wii U, we were ecstatic. This style of game is one we are intimately familiar with from our Metroid Prime days, and it's exciting to once again put our familiarity with Nintendo hardware to good use. We have extensive remastering experience - our remastering projects include the Metal Gear Solid Collection for PS Vita, Injustice for PS Vita, and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel for PS4/XB1. We look forward to the challenge of making sure that the Wii U edition of Bloodstained stands proudly with its brethren on Unreal Engine 4."
- The Wii U version will also see a physical release - Pro Controller support - GamePad will have a map with the ability to draw/annotate. - Off-TV play - Miiverse integration - Your Mii can appear in-game somehow
New stretch goals include asynchronous multiplayer ($3,250,000) and a PS Vita port ($3,500,000) also handled by Armature.

The Online Challenge Mode goal was met, and Bloodstained is officially the second-most successful video game Kickstarter ever. With two days left, it's possible that it could be number one.
The final stretch goal at $5 million was also revealed: a procedurally generated roguelike dungeon that can be shared online.
Also, a live ending stream will be held from the Inti Creates studios on Friday at 4 pm PDT.
And on a side note, Armature Studio has announced that they intend to port Unreal Engine 4 to the Wii U and Vita, and they will then share it with any other licensed developers who wish to use it. (Although I doubt either system will get much use out of it by then.)

It's now at over $5 million dollars, and is the most successful video game Kickstarter of all-time.
One last stretch goal has been added at $5.5 million: a Boss Revenge mode in which you can play as some of the boss characters. There's also a new Backer Achievement goal: a "pure" costume for Miriam, showing what she looked like before she was cursed.
nocturnal YL: According to Nintendo's IR calendar, they're going to release their financial information up to December 2020 on 1 Feb. Switch sales (68.30 mil at Sep 2020) may very well surpass that of the 3DS (75.94 mil), but how will it compare to the GBA (81.51 mil)?

nocturnal YL: Also, while they stopped counting 3DS and Wii U hardware sales, software went up from 385.12 mil to 385.85 mil and 103.27 mil to 103.31 mil. Switch software sales went from 456.49 mil to 532.34 mil, surpassing that of NES and Game Boy.

nocturnal YL: So now that I have a capture device, I've been looking at my games and tried to figure out the resolution and frame rate they run at. Trials Rising is 540p30, Project DIVA Mega Mix has the UI at 720p60 and the simpler, single-singer PVs run at 540p60…?

nocturnal YL: All the Atelier games I've seen so far (Arland 1-4) run at 1080p30, which is a bit surprising as I expected a lower resolution for Lulua. Void Terrarium and Puyo Puyo Tetris 1 and 2 all run at 1080p60. PPT1 also ran at 1080p60 on Wii U, so no surprise.

nocturnal YL: ↑ In Atelier Lulua, the system UI and even some parts with 3D models (like the synthesis screen) run at full 1080p at 60 fps. That's a huge leap from the previous two games in the series. World map runs at 30 fps though, despite not being intensive.

nocturnal YL: Rune Factory 4 Special runs at 720p60. Fire Emblem Three Houses is a weird case; it looks like 900p30 to me, but because of the way the edge of the models are drawn, the graphics end up looking very ugly.

nocturnal YL: This kind of reminds me of modern 3D printing, where the software needs to formulate the steps for replicating the object rather than just going in a simple 2D matrix manner as in inkjet printing. Nice video.
