1) Xenoblade Chronicles did make it out in Europe, with The Last Story hitting Europe this year, while we Americans had to wait. Still, it did go overseas. 2) Luigi's Mansion 3DS and Mario Tennis 3DS were revealed - depends on your definition of "classic Nintendo franchise"...I was going more for Mach Rider, Balloon Fight or Mother, actually... 3) Iwata says it's in the cards, Sakurai is waiting until Kid Icarus Uprising is done, but it was announced! 4) This is one I didn't WANT to be right on, but I nailed it. 5) No sign of Samus in a game. I suppose I can do some new ones: - The Last Story comes out in Europe to acclaim and sells pretty well, and Nintendo of America, through a deal with Gamestop, will bring it out here late in the year. (Again, I want to be right!) - The Wii U is confirmed to launch in 2013. - Dragon Quest X is going to be a Wii U exclusive in North America and Europe, much to my chagrin. - The Wii U Zelda will be shown again, and will have a title and will feature the return of Ganon. - The DS will finally see its demise.

Palutena playable in Uprising in some capacity. So far still a valid prediction, I guess. I mean, it still hasn't been released. For now, looks like a big ol' WRONG-O. Nyet. Nope. This year... Majora's Mask 3DS announced. Just announced. Kid Icarus Uprising released...in November. A new Tingle game will be announced to everyone who isn't American. Smash 4 begins production. It'll take a couple years before we get real info. The Mario Sports pile doesn't stop from getting bigger. Perhaps Strikers 3? And, just to be silly... The future slowly starts being visible from the present. Our predictions subsequently begin to be more accurate, to the point where we just delete this thread and just have a "Games that haven't even been vaguely rumored yet which we know are coming" thread. Probably called something incredibly typical like "Unannounced Games" or something. Unless I make the thread, in which case it will guaranteed be "Fruity Rainbow Asshole Factory."

Kid Icarus Uprising released...in November. Its been confirmed for March in all 3 regions, that would have to be a hell of a delay. Ok, now, lets play! - Wii continues to slow to its death, only to have a major price drop and pick back up for one last proper xmas. The Wii died in the arse, but never got any significant price drop or anything else for a sales blitz in what still appears to be its last proper xmas. The 3DS, meanwhile, started dead, got a price drop, and then sales picked up for xmas. Kinda on the right track, nothing more.- No official Wii2 announcement this year, though developers and whatnot start to leak that they are working on Wii2 games, and thats its coming in 2012.Got announced officially, but other than that one time its been virtually unsighted. The rest is pretty right. Go me.- Much speculation of Skyward Sword being Twilight Princessed to the Wii2 launch, though nothing ever comes of it.There was speculation very early in the year, and indeed, nothing ever came of it. I'm counting it as a win just because everything after it is mostly...- 2D platformer revival continues with Yoshi's Island Wii. Looks amazing but is ultimately not fun to play. Out late '11.WRONG- New Pokemon Stadium Black and White thingo also out 2011. WRONG- No major 3rd party exclusives, all focus has been swtiched to the 3DS.Pretty sure I meant 'DS exclusives', and its basically true, but it was pretty obvious- 3DS continues Nintendo's trend of having supply issues, leads to various conspiracy theories about Nintendo witholding stock to induce hypeWRONGO. Nobody wanted one. Nobody ever.- No mention whatsoever of any 3DS Lite, so eventually everyone holding out for it gives up and buys the original (only for the Lite to be announced early 2013) Remains to be seen.- New Super Mario Bros 3DS announced at E3, but does not make 2011, as..WiiU got one announced instead. Close but no cigar- Animal Crossing 3DS, Mario Kart 3DS, and Resident Evil Revelations the big titles for Xmas 2011.No, Yes, No- Some journalist asks Miyamoto about Pikmin 3 at a post-E3 conference, he says 'they're working on it'... this is all we see or hear of it all year. It never comes to Wii, ever.Don't remember if it was mentioned at E3, but its definitely never coming to Wii. TOLD YOU GUYS! NYEH NYEH NYEH NYEH!....And since it was such a successful prediction last year... - Some other stuff happensChhhhyeah booooiiiiiiiii

double post, sue me.
5 for 2012
'Wii U' drops 'Wii' branding, becomes the 'Nintendo U'. Has some major changes to set it further apart from the Wii so as to not cause brand confusion like with the DS/3DS. Thinking cosmetic changes, but also a significantly reduced emphasis on using Wii controllers, to the point where they become more like the Cube controllers on the Wii. (Memo to future me: I may have screwed you over with the last part)
No revised 3DS this year, but people still hold out for it. I eventually cave and buy one towards the end of the year... the revision is announced a couple of months later, in super early 2013.
The U has a super aggressive launch push with lots of hard hitters. From Nintendo, I'm thinking New SMB, a 'U Sports', a hardcore online focused multiplayer game (please please please F-Zero, but more likely a Metroid Universe based FPS), while GTAV is the big 3rd party title. (future me, the specific-ness may kill me)
Nintendo spend their E3 really pushing U to the FPS crowd. Their really big thing is that they've organised a Timesplitters revival. Because why not. (future me, sorry again, this is actually ridiculous)
Finally, a freebie for future me: People all over the internet go nuts with SSB4 speculation all year. It never, ever, lives up to these expectations (not that it releases this year anyway).

- Pokémon Battle Revolution sequel as an international Wii U launch title.
- Japanese release of Pokémon Gray Version (NA name) / Pokémon Grey Version (PAL name) featuring Whole Forme Kyurem. Still playable on the DS.
- 3DS Ambassador NES games all become 3D.
- Super Mario Sunshine 3D.
- No word on Smash at E3. No word on it at GDC. Only at Tokyo Game Show or something else later. No website yet, either.
- F-Zero X 3D. Sales make developers consider an actual new game in the series.
- New portable Zelda displayed at E3 2012, not to be released this year.
- New 3DS model announced at the end of the year.
- WarioWare U announced; first full multiplayer WarioWare game since Mega Party Games.
Also, Kirby 20th Anniversary <(°.°^) Kirby love everywhere. Virtual Console Kirby's Pinball, Kirby's Block Ball and Kirby's Dream Land 2. Maybe even a Crystal Shards 3D or an eShop Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble. And Kirby-themed Club Nintendo prizes.

Oh, right. I pretty forgot about this thread. Looking back at my prediction/wishlist mix: Hmm, let's see... - Nintendo will pretend F-Zero does not exist. Either that, or the next F-Zero will be made by SEGA again. - A whole-new Super Mario 3DS is made, making it the first time a handheld system getting its own non-remake Mario 3D. - Another HAL-made Kirby game will be announced and, one month before its release, pulled off the schedule and Nintendo will pretend it never happened. - Iwata will call Sakurai again for Smash Bros 4, this time Sakurai rejects. - Some new feature will be built in 3DS and it will end up to be seldomly-used, much like the thumb strap of DS. - 3DS games will feature features that are there just for the sake of it, much like Wii games having motions in place of buttons in games that don't really need it, like platformers. - Fire Emblem 13 (PLEASE). ... - Kirby gets FINALLY a 2.5D adventure we've waited about for over 5 years to come. (-l_l-) For 3DS. (-lvl-) With Superstar Stuff. *throws fist at HAL* - Still no news from F-ZERO, yup. Miss. Hit. - Mario 3DS... kinda saw it happening anyway. Hit. - This time around TWO Kirby games were announced and shipped, and Iwata Asks acknowledged the E3 2005 appearance. Miss. - Nah, Sakurai imposted the duty on himself without anyone telling him to. Miss. - Not enough games to tell. - 3DS actually handles the button/motion balance pretty well - far better than Wii. Miss. - Fire Emblem 13 announced, but not released until 2012. Half-hit. 1.5 2.5 out of 6 (excluding the "can't tell" one) came true. That's a 25% 41.7% hit, which is pretty awesome for me. (Edited for the mistakes shown above) New predictions from me. Let's see, for the year 2012... <1> Fire Emblem 13 WILL hit overseas, unlike Fire Emblem 12. (Dear Nintendo of America, this is your only chance to win back my almost nonexistent trust. I'm ready to go back to buying Japanese versions.) <2> As with the period before Wii, the home console side of Nintendo will be dead silent this year. <3> Puzzles #15~21 will be released to HatPass Mii Plaza, and save data will be read by Team Fortress 2 3D Edition (the latter half is a joke). <4> Wii U will come back with different specs (complete with multiple controllers), and Nintendo will stop saying how their future system is better than the previous generation of competitors. <5> Announced for Wii U: Mario Party 10, Mario Kart U, WarioWare: Drawn, Wii Sports 3, more Mario/Square Enix crossover, and no main series Super Mario. <6> Another Smash Bros official site that updates regularly before release. <7> No news for: Star Fox, F-ZERO, Kirby (you deserve some rest after the late 2011 combo), Mario Golf & Golden Sun (because Camelot is understaffed and busy with Mario Tennis), Advance Wars, Metroid, Custom Robo, among more. <8> Shocking news: Pokémon generation 6 will not go full 3D. It will be a sprite/3D mix instead, like Black/White. <9> 3DS remains unhackable, enraging some hackers, and Nintendo's online service will go down temporaily. <10> Just for kicks: Miyamoto, for once, will not show up in E3 with a sword and shield. He will instead appear in a space suit, promoting Pikmin 3.

Alright, here's my go at it: -Pikmin 3, FINALLY -F-Zero X remake on the 3DS (pfffft) -New Star Fox game on the Wii, rebooting the series for good after learning from the mistakes of Command -Next Kirby game will be yet another seemingly recycled handheld title -Donkey Kong Country Returns 2 (okay, maybe after this year) -Almost had it. Almost almost almost. But it's coming for the Wii U anyway, so that's good enough to know. -I guess the Wii U could do it, but I've lost hope in this franchise altogether. -Too bad, but the Wii U could be better for it. -Sure, there was Mass Attack, but the long-awaited Return to Dream Land made it at last. -Rats, still nothing on that one. Come on, Retro... And now for this year's predictions: -The Wii U will launch later into the summer with more big quality games (having learned from the mistakes of the 3DS launch). -Some more 3DS titles announced: WarioWare, new Zelda for 3DS, Majora's Mask 3D, Super Mario 3D Land 2 (with Yoshi and such), Kirby (...?) -Whatever the hell Retro's working on finally revealed: Either DKCR2 or something else. -The occasional 3DS firmware update. (This should keep up throughout the rest of the 3DS's lifespan)

I'm still, after all these years, convinced Pikmin 3 does not yet exist. Nintendo just says 'oh, yeah, its coming' when people ask to make them happy. Its like Kid Icarus all over again.

I would agree with this statement if it wasn't sexist as hell. Was that really necessary? Anyway.... TEi's 2011 predictions: 1// More retro Nintendo franchises get rebooted, providing more fodder for new Smash Bros. games.
2// Further N64 remakes will be announced for the 3DS, including F-Zero X, Super Smash Bros., and (hopefully) Bomberman 64. Also, Super Mario 64...yeah, I know they made SM64DS, but that felt more experimental.
3// Pokemon Gray announced, possibly even released. Ruby and Sapphire remakes announced at the ass end of the year, despite the fact that they'd be completely pointless. XD
4// There will be a new Metroid game. It won't be sexist, and it will be awesome...largely because Team Ninja and Sakamoto will have nothing to do with it, plz.
5// Nintendo's E3 is going to be pretty rocking. Not as good as last year's, but still worth tuning in for.Now for some negatives... 6// The Wii will continue on its downward slope. However, Nintendo will start hinting at the next Nintendo console. Unfortunately, it won't be backwards-compatible with the GameCube.
7// Nintendo will likewise continue its pig-headed approach to online gaming, not even bothering to consider parental controls to prevent The Scary Anons from trolling kids. Sigh.
8// Another Mario and Sonic crossover opportunity will be squandered.
And on the Non-tendo fronts: 9// Team Fortress 2 will continue to be awesome. There will be tons of weapon and hat updates, and the Companion Cube pin will become available to people who preorder Portal 2 on steam.
10// The new Mortal Kombat...won't actually be that bad.
11// Jet Grind Radio is announced and comes out on XBox Live and Playstation Network. TEi orgasms himself to death, then takes it upon himself to make Achievement Hunter videos for the game's achievements...because TEi is a freaking JGR God.
12// More Dreamcast games will be announced/released on XBL/PSN.
13// More Left 4 Dead campaigns will be added to both games, including L4D1 campaigns available in L4D2 (Crash Course and Death Toll likely coming in one update).
1// I don't remember?
2// Negatory on all counts. See my above comments in regards to SSB4.
3// Negatory again!
4// Negatory. But I can still hold out hope.
5// Yes indeed! 2011's E3 wasn't as strong a showing as 2010's, but it was yonks better than 2009's disappointfest.6// DING DING DING right on all counts.
7// Sort of true, sort of false. Nintendo has opened up a bit with its position of online gaming, even releasing a 3DS firmware update that allows for downloadable content. Connecting with people you know is still a chore, however, as friend codes have not been discarded and there's no signs of a chat function. (with headsets and et cetera, natch.)
8//Mario & Sonic at the 2012 London Limpdicks. Nailed it. -_-9// Yep! And I wear my Companion Cube pin on at least one loadout of each class.
10// From what I've heard (and according to Angry Joe), MK9 is actually really good.
11// Sigh...
12// Maybe Sega Bass Fishing was announced this year? I forget. But other than that, all we really got was a hard copy of XBL's Dreamcast collection with no signs of any further activity.
13// Not only was I right, but the new campaign (Cold Stream) will be accompanied by ALL of the remaining Left 4 Dead 1 levels. Whoo. And my predictions for 2012 are thusly: 1// There still won't be any news on a new F-Zero game. Not to sound embittered or anything, but I think this is one series Nintendo has had its fill of. 2// Pokemon Gray will be announced, later, released. 3// The 5gen remakes of Ruby and Sapphire will be announced. 4// There will NOT be a 5gen remake of FireRed or LeafGreen. 5// We will not hear about the Vitality Sensor. Given how critically panned it was back in 2009, and how it pretty much hasn't been mentioned since its E3 debut, we can assume it's been put to rest. 6// We'll see around twelve Virtual Console titles on the Wii. None of which will be EarthBound or Mischief Makers. 7// The 3DS Virtual Console, however, will be full to bursting with old GB titles, amongst which will be the WarioLand games. And that's alls I got.

- Kid Icarus: Uprising sales are poor to moderate. Sakurai devotes himself to only ever making Smash Bros. games for the rest of his days. That would be quite...depressing for him. Iwata sure is onto him all the time. Hell, I do wonder how Project Sora could take on other Nintendo IPs (or one of their own). Sure, Kid Icarus was a start, but something like Mario or Zelda would be way too unconventional for them though. Retro Studios begins work on a new IP after stating they don't just want to be known for bringing back old Nintendo IPs. So long as they'll be given more freedom sometime later, it should be something just as invigorating as the rest of Nintendo's first-party IPs so far. 1// There still won't be any news on a new F-Zero game. Not to sound embittered or anything, but I think this is one series Nintendo has had its fill of. It's weird how the series didn't even get at least one DS game, but I agree, it's done as much as it could and would likely be put to rest.

Late ass happy new year! I'd make a best Nintendo games of 2011 thread, but then I remembered I only bought like 3 games so nevermind that
As for my psychic powers: Oh man, how it's like being so wrong past me? I don't really remember much about it, other than the WiiU reveal being akward so I'll just say I'm correct on this one, suck it - Is there even gonna be a sequel? Nothing known as of yet anyway - Correct, goddamnit, hurry up! - Haha ofcourse not
Well that was pathetic. Surely 2012 will be better with these super detailed predictions:
- Alright fine, Pokemon R/S remake coming your way. People are excited until they notice it's a lazy remake that doesn't even bring back the goofy HG/SS follow thing. I mean, pssch, come ON - Crazy Pokemon/samurai crossover coming to the US afterall, but thanks for the imports anyway! - F-Zero is back and faster then ever! Because it only skipped one console generation! Nothing groundbreaking about it, but screw it they need a new release to keep the franchise relevant. - Xenoblade Chronicles and Pandora's Tower sell like shit over here, followed by a bunch of morons getting worked up/threatening that people should friggen buy it otherwise Nintendo will never listen to us agaaaaain - Mole Mania 3DS remake, dig holes in three-dee ohhh YEAH - This year unveils a 3D Mario launch game for the WiiU that uses the new innovative controls to shoot fireballs instead of a B button - More really crappy Hudson/Taito wiiware/3Dsware games. Oh how far the mighty have fallen - A new crossover game between Starfox and Drakengard, where the good guys team up to fight Andross and his army of fetuses - Sakuai's sick of being Iwata's bottom bitch and refuses to make Smash 4. 'Well never fucking mind then!' Iwata exclaims in a press release. They never see eye to eye again.

I would agree with this statement if it wasn't sexist as hell. Was that really necessary?. I'm sorry, I was very wrong to say such a thing, I don't know what came over me. There's nothing wrong with women being in 3D games. - 3DS continues Nintendo's trend of having supply issues, leads to various conspiracy theories about Nintendo witholding stock to induce hypeWRONGO. Nobody wanted one. Nobody ever. Yup, apart from the 4 million people who brought one in the US and the 4 million people who brought one in Japan.

Kid Icarus Uprising released...in November. Its been confirmed for March in all 3 regions, that would have to be a hell of a delay. Yeah, I know. 8 million between US and Japan means no one wanted one ever. For comparison... First Week SalesGameboy Advance – 611,504 Units Nintendo DS – 441,485 Units Nintendo 3DS – 371,326 Units PlayStation Vita – 321,407 Units Sony PSP – 166,074 Units It is, first week, the poorest selling Nintendo handheld of the second millenium. It only just beat its chief rival for the generation, the Vita. SourceSo hush up that attitude, broski.

Erm... It may have had the worst first-week sales, but remember it was set at a price point to compete with the iPhone and projected Sony offering. Since Nintendo dropped the price (and released some games for it), the 3DS has picked up significantly. Saying nobody wanted it on Week 1 at that high price with no games to play, and saying nobody wanted one ever are two very different things

But my point was I expected short term supply issues at the start, akin to the Wii. Fair to say we didn't get that at all - as has been pointed out, its launch went awfully. And there has never been anything close to supply issues with it. So, my point about me being wrong, is right. And Bobby Tokyo's point about me being wrong about me being right about me being wrong, is wrong. Wrap your head around that one.
