Right, every forum needs one of these topics. Come up with characters, lands, or items (or indeed anything else you think of) that could be added (or removed) in the inevitable SSB3 to make it better.
I'll start by suggesting what I would like to see removed: Time to say goodbye to some characters. The strength of SSBM was that it dragged in all of the SSB characters. For SSB3 this could damage the game! It would limit the number of interesting and new characters with too many unused characters. My own removals would be: Dr. Mario, Bowser, Pichu, EITHER Link or Young Link, Roy (sorry, but he's not necessary) and Falco. I would also like to see no more of these clone characters. As accepted as they are, Nintendo should research what is the best aspects of them and incorporate them EITHER into what they are cloned from, OR a whole new character.
Right, now start coming up with your own ideas!

Well, I really don't think there's any reason for them to remove characters... If they wanted to have 50 playable characters in the game, I'd be fully behind it.
Anyway, stuff I'd like to see added:
Charaters -
Wario (Wario Land Series) He, like Kirby, would be able to take a variety of powers, though not from other characters. All his attackes would generaly be physical except he could also throw bombs.
Andy (Wars Series) All his attacks would be bassed around that huge wrench.
Captain Olimar (Pikmin) He doesn't do any attacks himself, but, sorta like Ice Climbers, he's got 3 pikmin who follow him arround and attack.
"Player" (Animal Crossing) He'd get the shovel for down B, axe for forward B, and net for up B. Also, the clothes would be completely random.
Meta Knight (Kirby's Dreamland Series) He can fly around sorta like Kirby, but most of his attacks are bassed around his sword.
Isaac (Golden Sun Series) Sword user, but preferable with diffrent attacks then Marth and Roy.
RAY MK1 (Custom Robo Series) The attacks in the game are so perfect for SSB, that they could pretty much just copy 'em directly.
Levels -
Hunting Range (Duck Hunt Series) Flat level from edge to edge. Shots come through occasionaly, and the Dog will grab for characters. Ducks flying around can be used as platforms.
Bowser's Castle (Super Mario Series) Large levels full of unconnected platforms. Lava consistantly on the botton, and fire coming out all over the place.
WarioWare, inc. Building (WarioWare Series) No idea how it'd work, but I know it'd be fun.
I'll probably think up more later.

I agree with getting rid of clone characters, and that Hunting Range stage sounds like fun.
Wario's a definite must-have.
Other characters I'd like to see added include Pit and Little Mac. They seem like perfectly plausible additions to me. I'm surprised they weren't added for SSBM. I should also add that I'd love to play as a Balloon Fighter, but I don't know how it would work.

it would be cool if there were different versions of characters, based on which era they were from.
for example, you could choos LoZ style link who would be 2d (Mr G+W style) OoT link who would like the link from SSBM and WW link who would be cel-shaded. you could even give them slightly different strengths and weaknesses...
basically just ripping off the "Hyper Steet Fighter II" idea, but with ninty charcters
and more trophies... they could be interactive/animated and could possibly unlock some retro games (or is everyone sick of nes games now?).
a more detailed version of each characters story through all of their games would also be nice in a kind of "Nintendo Museum" mode

I agree with Dr. Mario, Y. Link, and Pichu(Mario, Link, and Pikachu are already in the game, we don't need two.) But why Bowser, Roy, and Falco? Bowser just needs to be made better. It's pretty bad the the Koopa King is just slightly better than Pichu. Roy ain't my favorite Fire Emblem hero, but I think they should at least have the lords of the first game of each set. (FE1-3=Marth, FE4-5=Sigurd, FE6-7=Roy) Although Lyndis would be awesome... Falco is REALLY popular. I think he deserves to stay. A character I think should be taken out is Ness. Why? So that they can add Ninten. And unlike Ness he shouldn't be given a bunch of attacks he never used in the games. And Ganondorf should be given his own attacks.(Possibly with a sword/swords, but I prefer him to just use magic) And Popo & Nana should be should not be called Ice Climbers! If I called Samus "Metroid", or Link "Zelda", or Captian Falcon "F-Zero" people would say I'm an idiot. I got to go to work soon, but I'll be back in...10 hours ...and post characters I want added.

Yay! EVERY nintendo related board needs a discussion along these lines!
NEW CHARACTERS: Wario (but not Waluigi, I hate that guy)
Prof Oak from Pokemon (it would be so cool to see the old guy fighting!)
Tetra (my favourite character that was introduced in Wind Waker)
Guest star owned by another company (such as Nemesis from Resident Evil or SONIC!!!)
NEW ARENAS Luigi's Mansion (Try not to shake/bash into the furniture, or ghosts will hurt you)
Delphino Plaza (Even though I'm against the idea, IT WILL HAPPEN if Nintendo has anything to do with it)
Clock Town from Majora's Mask (rooftops, Clocktower, fireworks, usable Deku flower-launchpad...)
Bobomb Battlefield from Mario 64 (just the top of the big hill featuring King Bobomb, and perhaps the floating island to the left.)
NEW MODE BOSS BATTLE. Simply put, a random boss (NOT a playable character) will need to be taken out, with special trophies as rewards. Bosses could include Ganon (NOT Ganondorf), Cackletta from Mario&Luigi, something big from Pikmin, Andross (would that be too much like Master Hand/Crazy Hand, with a head added on?), King K.Rool from Donkey Kong fame, Mother Brain....etc
Edit: MORE BOSSES-Mecha Bowser from Super Mario Sunshine, King Dededededede... from Kirby, er...that flying dragon one from Bomberman 64, er... that bouncy one made out of lava from Yoshi's Story, there's so many possibilities! P.S. Help me out with some of those names please!

altho not many people would use the feature, it would be cool if it had lan link up. imagine 8 or 16 player SSB!would maybe be too much mayhem, but could be cool.

Bowser does need to be made better, because he really bites. I scratched him mainly because there'd be too many Mario characters.
Also notice how I didn't say Ganondorf, because I fully support him having his own moves, and perhaps even a Zelda-esque transformation option. Pig Ganon with twin swords! Yum!
Falco is popular, but mainly because he nicked Fox's best moves from SSB. Give them back to Fox to make him usable again, and scrap Falco.
I reckon Marth should stay as the representative of Fire Emblem, but Roy was only included in the last one because he was the "next" Fire Emblem hero. That's outdated now, as there'll be another THREE Fire Emblem games on top of his by next year.

It would be kinda cool if when a match starts, all the characters would appear in their own kind of way... Like Mario coming out of a Warp Pipe, Captain Falcon coming out of the Blue Falcon... Just like in the original Super Smash Bros. I was a bit disappointed when I saw it was removed in SSBM...

I think there should be a mode where you can gain access to a special item and the character you are playing as transforms into a version of himself know from games that's better.
Examples: Ganondorf: Ganon Mario: Mario with Raccoon Suit Bowser: Mecha Bowser Link: Fierce Deity Link
However, most would be really lame. Nintendo wouldn't be able to come up with something better for Fox than "Fox with a Krazoa Spirit".
Pichu, Dr. Mario and Young Link should be removed completely. Falco, Roy and Ganondorf can stay, but with new attacks.
The game could be good even with over 35 characters but I don't think we should be allowed to use all of them in 1-P and Vs. Mode. Maybe Bowser, Ganondorf, Mewtwo (with better attacks, please) and others should be bosses and we should only be able to play them after beating them and only in special modes.

Am I the only one who really liked to play as Dr. Mario? Along the lines of gameplay, I'd rather they threw out Mario then Dr. Mario. Mario was too weak and generaly compleatly useless. Dr. Mario, on the other hand, is strong and near deadly with his throws. But, that obviously would never happen.

but they are ice climbers. they climb ice. thats what they do. But the point is they have a name. Link is also the Hero of Time, but he's not called that all the time. Why? Because he's Link. I think the Mario series deserves alot of characters. It's Nintendo's most popular, and has a lot of spin-off series. If you take out Dr. Mario there's only 4. Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser. Yoshi would be 5, but he sorta has his own series now.(He has a different symbol then the others(An Egg rather then a Mushroom)) It's not that many. "Guest star owned by another company (such as Nemesis from Resident Evil or SONIC!!!)" If they ever do that I don't think I'll buy it. It will destroy the whole feel of it. Some character I want that haven't been mentioned yet: Red(He was the star of Pokemon R/B/Y and the finale boss of G/S/C, I think he deserves to be in SSB) Bubbles(Clu Clu Land rules) Alice(I think she would be a better choice then Balloon Fighter) Prof. Hector(With R.O.B. of course) Hakkun(I love that little guy) Gooey(Kirby needs a sidekick too!) Takamaru(Just because) Dog from Duck Hunt(So I can finally kill him)

I remember coming up with several characters... complete with movesets... for Gamecube anyways. They're probably outdated, meh.
Pit (Walks normal, wings give him the slowest fall, giving him more distance to return):
Grab: Pit grabs the enemy and uses his wings to send them flying. A: Pit wacks with a hammer. Running A: Pit leaps at the enemy with the hammer. Side A Smash: Pit slams hammer down hard, sending opponents in the air. Down A: Pit pounds the ground with hammer. Aerial Down A: Pit flies down with Hammer under hsi feet like a Pogo-Stick Up A: Pit swings up with hammer. Up SMASH A: Pit puts the hammer in front (or back of him), then pulls it up on the opponent.
B: Arrow - Shoots a normal arrow
B + Side: Light Arrow - Similar to above, only on fire and will fly towards opponent.
B + Up: Crystal Leap - Pit flies a bit higher, activating a ring of protection.
B + Down: Sweeper - Pit uses his wings to spin around and attack.
Taunt: Pit turns towards the crowd and grins.
Mandrag Ganon (Slow walker, powerful attacks, low jumps, many surprise moves, normal attacks involve regular trident slashes)
Grab: Ganon hugs the enemy, kicking them for attacks. A: Normal Punch Running A: Ganon does a desperate slash with trident. Side A Smash: Ganon slashes down hard with Trident. Down A: Ganon stabs Trident towards opponents foot. Aerial Down A: Ganon slams down to the ground, sending nearby opponents in the air. Up A: Ganon stabs upwards with trident, from in front of him to above. Up SMASH A: Ganon points trident up to attack even harder, only hurts upward.
B: Keese Spin - Ganon sends out a keese a random direction, it will spin him indefinitely until B is let go, or Ganon is hurt. When let go the keese will hit an opponent.
B + Side: Dark Movement - Ganon flies forward invisible, stunning whatever
B + Up: Trident Toss - Ganon tosses it upwards, the player controls where it will go, Ganon will then vanish upwards to it.
B + Down: Trident Flame - Ganon strikes his trident in the ground, engulfing self in flames.
Taunt: Ganon spins trident and plants it in ground.
K. Rool
Grab: K. Rool grabs the enemy and whacks them with his crown, then uses his tail to send them flying. A: K. Rool punches the opponent, somewhat rapid. Running A: Similar to Luigi, runs with his fists flying. Side A Smash: K. Rool does a powerful punch on the enemy. Down A: K. Rool sweeps enemy with tail. Aerial Down A: K. Rool bellyflops enemy. Up A: K. Rool jumps slightly with his crowd pointed up. Up SMASH A: K. Rool chomps at the enemy.
B: Crown Toss - Uses his crown and tosses it, which will come back to him. Cannot be controlled like Link's boomerang (and will come back, even if it misses first time).
B + Side: Kremzooka - K. Rool pulls out his gun and shoots, each one does a different status effect (see below)
B + Up: K. Rool shoots his gun behind him to propel him.
B + Down: Temporarily turns invisible.
Taunt: K. Rool takes off his crown and shakes his head while rubbing it.
Mine: A weaker mine which explodes on contact, about the power of Link's bombs.
Purple Cloud: Prevents Smash attacks on who it hits.
Bullet: Simply damages the opponent, most common.
Stanley the Bugman
Grab: Stanley grabs, punches and throws A: Normal Punch Running A: Stanely does a run and punching dive. Side A Smash: Stanley smacks the opponent with his pump. Down A: Stanely ducks and kicks. Aerial Down A: Stanley kicks on way down. Up A: Upward punch. Up SMASH A: Stanley swings his pump at enemy.
B: Bug Spray - Stanley sprays the opponent.
B + Side: Bug Raid - Stanley sprays the bug spray by hose, which causes the same effect as Lip Stick.
B + Up: Locust Leap - A bug flies out of Stanley, which will sting him or anyone else (must be directed), which will send Stanley flying (does 1% damage to Stanley)
B + Down: Swarm - Stanely is surrounded temporarily by a swarm of bees, which sting any outsiders (does 1% damage to Stanley)
Taunt: Stanley sprays forward, causing himself to cough.
Wart (SMB2) Slow, excellent jumping.
Grab: Grabs opponent in claws, chomps on their head. A: Wart slashes with claws Running A: Wart bodyslams the opponent. Side A Smash: Wart does a slashing uppercut. Down A: Wart kicks with feet. Aerial Down A: Wart Bodyslams the enemy. Up A: Wart does a twisting slash in the air Up SMASH A: Same as above, only with both claws.
B: Acid Rain - Wart spews out a bubble in the air, which floats for awhile then falls.
B + Side: Bubble Bomb - Wart spits out an even bigger bubble, which explodes.
B + Up: Bubble Shoot - Wart spits a bubble out and uses it to flips up higher.
B + Down: Stop Watch - Wart uses a stopwatch to freeze a nearby opponent for a few seconds.
Taunt: Wart stops and snickers
Orcos (KI2) Walks, flies while running.
Grab: Orcos grabs enemy and uses tail to smack them. A: Slashes Running A: Orcos headbutts enemy. Side A Smash: Orcos slashes with his tail. Down A: Orcos flaps his wings, hittign the opponent. Aerial Down A: Orcos flies down attacking Up A: Swings arm in the air Up SMASH A: Shoots tail in the air
B: Triple Ball - Orcos spits out a ball, which splits in three directions (fades after short distance).
B + Side: Tail Spike - Orcos shoots small missiles from his tail, which fly towards closest enemy (but doesn't alter course)
B + Up: Devil Dive - Orcos gives one mighty flap of his wings to go higher.
B + Down: Stone Monster - Orcos turns to stone, preventing any attacks temporarily (and damaging those he falls on, but comes down slower than Kirby).
Taunt: Orcos turns to screen and roars.
Cranky Kong, slow and weak power. All SMASH or Special attacks leave him stunned.
Grab: Granky grabs enemy with cane. A: Whacks with cane. Running A: Cranky uses cane to do a flying kick. Side A Smash: Cranky wacks hard with his cane. Down A: Looks forward and pokes down with both his canes. Aerial Down A: Cranky bellyflops the enemy. Up A: Smacks in the air Up SMASH A: Same as above, only with cane.
B: Vial - Cranky throws a potion of random effect (Tiny, Lipstick, Sheild breaking, Super, Metal, etc...)
B + Side: Orange Grenade - Bounces a few times and explodes.
B + Up: Cranky uses his canes as a propellor ala DK and Link.
B + Down: Cranky dozes off, which recharges 10& of overall damage (healing 20 if he's at 200 damage, etc...) Does less if he's attacked before he awakes.
Taunt: Cranky makes a random complaint to the player about the graphics.
Diddy and Dixie, Kong Duo.
B + Down: Tag - Diddy and Dixie slap eachother, trading lead. Whoever is in the lead effects the attack style, while the other backups.
Grab: The one in lead sends the other to catch the opponent. A: Whacks with tail (Diddy), whacks with hair (Dixie) Running A: Diddy does Somersault, Dixie does a spin. Side A Smash: Diddy does a Primate Dash, Dixie does a Headbash with her hair. Down A: Swigns tail (or hair) Aerial Down A: Diddy and Dixie go down, headfirst into the ground. Up A: They swipe with hair or tail. Up SMASH A: One monkey will throw the other in the air.
B: Arsenal - Diddy uses Peanut Popgun, Dixie uses her sister's Feather Bow
B + Side: Jammin' - Diddy and Dixie bother have guitars (ala DKC2), they play a smoothing tune that disables the opponents in range.
B + Up: Rocket Blast/ Haircopter - Diddy will use his rockets to propel higher, whereas Dixie will use her hair to gain altitude. Diddy is more vertical while Dixie is more horizontal.
Taunt: Diddy takes hat off and scratches head and Dixie blows a bubble (which pops).
