What I'll find the most interesting is what characters from Double Dash get the shaft. Considering that game had, and had to have, a lot of drivers, and then falling back to a solo kart game... More than a few had to get the axe. But it seems like the characters we saw in Mario Golf TT + Toadette have become the new standards of Mario spinoff titles (replacing the standard 8 of the 64 days). This may or may not be a good thing, considering I'm a fan of going with obscure before better known characters. SYRUP IN MARIO KART REVOLUTION! Edit: I forgot to mention. The coolest thing about Mario Kart DS? And are we sure that last secret character is confirmed? While I've heard the others from reliable sources, I've only heard that last one being relayed from someone.

Yeah, it's where you fight the Koopa Kids in SMB3, and don't forget the haunted "sunk" doomship in SMW just before the Valley of Bowser.

Fun fact, when was Doomship used in any official sources? At my forums we came up with the Super Show, but maybe you guys might be able to legitimize the term.

Yeah, they're just called airships or flying ships in official stuff. I think I used to call them the airships back in the days when the game was new and the cartoon hadn't been shown.

For those curious, the other princess has been confirmed. That's just three secrets confirmed by screenshots now, but five by word of mouth, which leaves only 3 more characters to discover. Hmm..
Popular speculation claims them to be Monty Mole, Birdo and Koopa Troopa, but a lot are saying they could be Jr., Petey and Diddy as well. But we'll see. I'm all for Kamek and Syrup, personally.

The Monty Mole speculation is based on the fact one of the karts is an army tank. Assuming there aren't just special karts that aren't designed for specific characters (like DD's gold kart), then that seems logical (they are talking about the big ones that are in Sunshine's bob-omb cannons, by the way). And Koopa seems like a good idea, since everyone loves him. But then they are still lacking in heavyweights (Monty Mole could be, but still, thats only 4), so I'd put money on the last being Petey.
So my predictions are: Monty Mole (Cannon version), Koopa and Petey.

So my predictions are: Monty Mole (Cannon version), Koopa and Petey. Since when is Koopa a heavyweight?? Unless, of course, you mean Bowser. Mega mole from SMW would be a much better choice than the cannon monty due to the fact that Mega mole is colossal compared to him. As for Petey, his appearance in the game is a forgone conclusion. |
