Speaking of canceled games, was Yoshi Universal Gravitation canceled for the US?
It was announced for a second quarter of 2005 release under the name of Yoshi Topsy Turvy

A word of clarification - international news sources must NOT be taken as an announced release. If you read about a brand new Nintendo game, but it's never released in the US, that doesn't necessarily mean it was EVER going to be released in the US. Only when there is a specific announcement that the game is coming out in a specific territory does it count.
I'd not heard Yoshi's Universal Gravitation had been announced for the US, but it has been given a release date for Europe (with the bizarre Japanese name by the look of it - this recent speed of Japan to Europe released seems to be removing a lot of the American-led localisation).

Then I've got to ask... is there any site that lists what games are specifically announced for the US?

Not really. The main problem is sometimes a game is announced at random, with no indication of any planned release regions. Generally they are planned for Japan first, but there are numerous exceptions.
And these things change. Sometimes a game planned for a worldwide release never makes it out of Japan. Nintendo's somewhat erratic scheduling has made for some interesting release schedules lately, especially with Nintendo Europe's GBA translation teams full of beans... we're getting all sorts of US-planned games before the US.
This is why NinDB only covers future titles with release dates at the moment. I'm having a lot of trouble nailing down a format for "general announcements" for this very reason.

But you know what's disappointing, they released the Panasonic DVD GameCube Version only in Japan.

Howcome we didn't get Earthbound on the NES and the Japanese get? It was fully translated and all of the sudden they just cancelled it. Can anyone tell me why they cancelled it?

Then I'm probably just going to keep asking about games that weren't actualy announced for the US.

Then I'm probably just going to keep asking about games that weren't actualy announced for the US. That's fine, but I get to make increasingly snide remarks Earthbound for the NES was cancelled because the first Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy games did really badly in America, and Nintendo didn't want to risk the same to happen to Earthbound. SO IT'S YOUR FAULT! ;D

Another reason why "Earthbound 0" never came to the US, it would hurt Mother 2's sales. That was unfortunate, because even though EB0 never came to the U.S., EarthBound didn't sell too good either. What a shame.
