We don't to rush the Revolution and leave bad tastes in everybody's mouths. That would be a BAD thing.

True, but Nintendo needs to create awareness of the Rev, otherwise it might as well crawl into the 3rd posistion and stay there. As long as they can show of what makes the Revolution so revolutionary (best way to do this is to make it playable), then they can tweak the rest afterwards.
And the worldwide tour is what I think would be a really cool thing to do with the Revolution to help create that awareness. Rather than just having a bunch of nerds gamers playing it at E3, they could show it off all around the world and give lots of different people a chance to play it and (hopefully) fall in love with it.
Over and Out.

Firstly, I agree with DIU - awareness needs to be a key goal of Nintendo right now - there'll be talk of the Xbox2 (MTV), there'll be talk of the PS3 (it's from Sony, and they did well with number 2), but Nintendo has to make sure that there is just as much [good] talk about the N5/Revolution/Cheeseburger.
Secondly... DIU... why are you ending your posts with things like "Over and Out", and "End"? I do that, AND I was going to use "Over and Out" in my next post, and then I see you already have... how convenient... (Oh, I get it - it's a conspirace, right? The governmeent is in on it, right? You'll never get me alive...)
Thirdly, I'm hoping even more than before that Nintendo shows off a considerably significant DS first-party line-up - I want to see Mario, Link, DK, etc. We need a strong Nintendo line-up for the DS come E3 - not one or two games, but a small library. This system has to take-off again with games that will make people want the DS.
Over and Out. ...

Mwuahahahaha!
Yes, you have discovered my secret - I was created with the sole purpose of stealing your ending sentences and travelling back in time to use them before you can! Mwuahahahaha!
(in other words, I don't know. I need something to end my long rants that nobody would read. They worked well. If you insist, I'll find something else to end with. Maybe a couple of random words. Like "Lasagne Scrabble".)

Whilst "Lasagne Scrabble" would be good, I'm really not that fussed. I got hit with an evil laugh and everything... Anybody been to the E3 website? There's nothing there of much interest, but if you check out the floor plan... WOAH! Nintendo has a HUGE area of the floor, and it's right next to Sony, which has a HUGE section of the floor. Almost there... 26 days... less than a month... And Solid Snake, good for you! (A joke, of course...) ;D

What would be truly revolutionary would be if Nintendo was able to be first to market with the system. That's how it's lost out every console generation since the Genesis vs. SNES (even if it's only temporary). Over here in Europe the DS has months ahead of the PSP... and the PSP has come out at a particularly bad time. When it demands games to cost as much to develop as any console game, coming out when THREE next gen consoles are on the horizon is tantamount to shooting yourself in the foot as far as software support goes. The DS has no such problems, but they might become a problem if the system doesn't get more in the way of variation. Completely new kinds of gaming is one thing - attractive and proven styles of game are another, and one that shouldn't be ignored. Hopefully with New SMB and Metroid Prime Hunters around the corner we should be okay... but let's just hope a little more effort on that kind of game comes soon from 3rd-parties as well. With Bomberman, Final Fantasy, Snowboard Kids etc. it's not looking too shabby as it stands. Hey, even Rare might be developing for it (It's Mr. Pants DS could work)... I hope the Revolution enjoys the same kind of success as the DS has done, and exceeds most expectations of what it will be. I have high hopes.

While it would be good for the Rev to come out before both the PS3 (which it probably will anyway) and the Xbox2, it almost definately wont. One of the main complaints about the DS has been the lack of many launch titles, so Nintendo will want to give themselves a big enough time between the time they show it off (hopefully E3) and when it launches some other companies can develop for it. Besides, Nintendo seem perfect happy for Link to battle the XB2 on his own, particularly as I don't think Nintendo of Japan seem to care about the XB2.

Speak for yourself... the European and Japanese releases were accompanied by one of the best software lineups of any console ever. It's only NoA who muffed it.

We don't want to suffer a disaster like December 2000. We had nothing...an obsolete system, no EarthBound 64, no N64DD, and we came out with the disgraceful Hey You Pikachu. At least we had Banjo-Tooie, but sadly, it was overshadowed by PS2...

Surely "PSTooie"? Do you know exactly why that won't happen this time? Backwards compatibility. The Revolution can play Gamecube games, and so rather than ditch the last generation, developers can continue to release Gamecube games, safe in the knowledge that they won't be redundant in a few months' time. That's why Paper Mario and Pokemon Stadium 2 are such highly sought after titles over here... they were released into what felt like a post-N64 apocalypse, where everyone, aside from a few dedicated fans, had moved on. Hardly any sold, and as such they are now pretty damn rare. I don't think any of us can speculate on Nintendo this time around. It's under all-new management for this console launch, and seeing as the DS went from announced to retail in under a year (most games don't accomplish that) we could be in for a few surprises. Playable Revolution, out by early next year, ahead of the competitors... all speculation, of course, but that's why I set this topic up

Agree I do. (Yoda voice... but why?)
As for Paper Mario - I never had it when it came out. I searched it out well into the GCN's life. Found a boxed PERFECT copy with instructions et al. Cost me a bundle, but I have had it on my shelf with my collection for a while now. Best $2,000 (AUD) I ever spent! ;D
That was a joke. It cost around what you'd buy a new game for today, maybe a touch less - which was a lot for an old N64 game. So, that would be around $70-$80 AUD perhaps? Maybe it was $60, I can't remember.
Aux revoir!

Are you sure it isn't? Pokemon stadium wasn't sold very well? I quess the Pokemon fandom really have declined, have it? But Paper Mario seemed a very good game, and I heard that it did get good sales. By the way neither have ever speculated what Nintendo have done EVER! And it won't change now.
