Errr... Sakurai isn't the only person who worked on those games and understands them, you know... he may have had the ideas, but there's no reason why others can't take those ideas and adapt them. Nah, other pepole can also make games in good quality, but the style may vary after he's left. Anyway, I LOVE SSB! That's why I'll still buy SSB3 if it does exist.

The style of SSB was simple and functional... the style of SSBM was attention to minute details. Each character was wonderfully modelled to try and make them fit a single world... so it didn't look too odd that Ganondorf was laying the smackdown on Pikachu... and that DK's tie and various caped fluttered in the wind... little attentions that tied the whole game together.
But we just don't know how much of that had anything to do with him, rather than HAL's graphic artists and myriad of designers and producers.

That was great about SSB:M, it's why it'd make a good Rev. launch title. It is still one of the finest looking games on the Cube. The attention to detail in the graphics was incredible. It was also great because the characters did not lose much in the translation from their own games to SSB:M.

I said so because many new franchises may rise after a new system is delivered. Take Pikmin and Kurukuru Kururin as examples.

It's better for the new franchises, such as Pikmin, to prove themselves in the previous generation rather than be put in after one game mid-generation.

I disagree with having SSB3 mid-way through the Rev's life. Make it a launch title, or as close to as possible.

Right, we're a week away from the start of E3!! ;D
Back to the topic. Given N's current state of innovation, what series do you think will be given a makeover?

I'd like to see the Super Mario series get taken to some whole new never-before experimented with level. Something that truly makes the new Mario stand out from the rest of the series, and from video games in general.
That would be sweet. ;D

Eh. It may just be me, but I'd rather see Super Mario return to form, not be made over. Sunshine was not the best Mario game in my opinion, and I'd like to see the solid gameplay of SM64 come back...no gimmicks, no backpacks, just Mario at his platforming best. Super Mario Bros. DS has me quite excited about the return to 2D, and I can only hope SM128 will go through a similar path of continuing the great SM64 formula.
And I'd love a SSB3...I'll have to toss in my ideas in the other threads...

Yeah, that's right Yamato - there's new info (in response to the Xbox 360 unveiling on MTV - I watched it, it was OK, but not SPECTACULAR) that the Revolution will be quite small and "sleak" in size and look, and features wireless everything as well as DVD playback.
A bit late on the DVD playback feature, but still souding VERY cool - oh, and the info says it will support high definition!
;D

E3 is tomorrow. The Revolution will be shown in some form. Zelda, Geist, and others will be playable. And there will be surprises.
Nintendo Database will be updating with all new game information over the days ahead.
Get excited... or something!
