Here's a nifty item idea I had for a future Smash game: the Microphone from Kirby! It would be similar to the Dragoon or, currently, the Super Mushroom/Poison Mushroom in that each character animates/reacts differently when using it. Read on...
------------------
Microphone: Kirby Series-When grabbed, the character instantly belts out a voice sample, song, or riff on a musical instrument that sends out a pulse of sound waves from their body once with decent knockback ability. Each character has at least two voice samples or animations.
Mario: spins on one foot and yells into the mic either, "It's-a me, Mario!" or "Wa-ha!"
Luigi: spins and tips his hat like a bamf, then says either the phrase "Go Lu-igi!" or whistles the intro to the Mario theme
Peach: spins and swings her hips holding the mic like a popstar. She either screams really loud or yells "Peachy!"
Bowser: throws out his body and either roars or laughs menacingly into the mic
Yoshi: does a quick spin and yells either "Yoshi!" or his classic "voop-boom!" sound effect
Wario: taps the microphone and glares angrily, then either lets laughs into it loudly, yells "It's-a Wario Time!", or lets out a burp and snickers.
DK: does a backflip and either makes his gorilla noises into it, does a Tarzan yell, or goes "OK!"
Diddy: does a handstand and holds the mic in his foot yelling "Hoo-hoo!" like DKR, or he whips out his guitar and shades while doing the "Guitar Gazzump" instead
Link: poses with the mic and yells into it or pulls out the ocarina and riffs a quick verse of Saria's Song
Toon Link: poses with the mic and yells into it, or pulls out the Wind Waker and does the Ballad of Gales
Ganondorf: laughs maniacally into the mic or roars
Zelda: holds the mic like a popstar and yells into it, or pulls out a harp and plays a few notes
Sheik: holds the mic in a spidercrawl pose and yells, or plays the harp
Samus: hits a "commlink" or something on her helmet and sends either the sound of sharp static or a mechanical screeching
Zero Suit Samus: leans into the mic like a punker and yells either "Back off!" or "Are you serious?"
Pit: jumps with the mic and yells "HEY! *muttered* ...is this on?" The alternate is he pulls out the violin from Tetris and screeches a bad note across the strings
Ice Climbers: the leader holds the mic and the partner grabs their hand as they both sing an increasingly louder note into the mic. Otherwise, and this happens when you are solo as well, the person who grabbed the mic will look confused and then sneeze into the mic on accident
MORE LATER..
EDIT: Screw that. This idea was crappy. Moving on...

SUPER SMASH SISTERS (do you see what I did thar?!)
Here it is, the Smash Bros. game for the DS! Except... it's all chicks... My idea is to take a cue from SNK and do an all-girls fighter for the portable system. Why not, right? The premise is more or less the same as any other Smash Bros. A bunch of female Nintendo characters duke it out for supremacy amidst a myriad of game modes and in the end team up to take on, you guessed it,
MRS. Hand (and Madame Hand, her crazy aunt or something...).
The gameplay is identical, from controls to game modes. The only thing that is really different is the all female cast! All 28 girls come with their own themed stages, items, and Assists trophies. Coolly enough, all the Assists are female as well, while the Pokemon remain across the board. Rather than collecting stickers or trophies the player collects trading cards which feature all the characters quite prominently. They are also able to collect the male characters as well and, through Wi-Fi, trade or battle their cards in a simple game somewhat similar to War but using each card's ATT and DEF stats as the determining factors.
As far as the cast is concerned, I tried to balance it out much like the regular Smash Bros. cast. The emphasis remains on the heavy hitters, but I threw in some obscure and old school characters to round it off as well. The female characters who have become major "reps" for the game have been tweaked to become more balanced, like their male counterparts, while the newbies either share similar movesets or playstyles to the boys. Not to say there aren't completely original characters in the game, because they all are in the end, but you'll see what I mean. Read on!
...Cast...Mario SeriesPEACH -- more balanced than her Brawl counterpart, but relatively unchanged. She is this game's "Mario" and represents the heroines in nearly all situations.
DAISY -- a Luigified Peach clone, Daisy enters the fray wearing her sports outfit and an arsenal of martial arts moves. Her B is a projectile absorbing tulip (like Oil Panic), her forward B and up B have become specialized flying kicks, and her down B pulls out stuff Peach couldn't even have dreamed of. Her Final Smash creates a twister of flower petals and pollen, behaving just like Negative Zone only sweeter.
BIRDO -- a HEAVILY modified Yoshi clone, Birdo flies under the Mario camp. Her A attacks are very similar to Yoshi's, but her specials differ quite a bit. B is a Suction attack, forward B is her own spin on Egg Roll, up B is a fully-aimable Egg Shot, and down B becomes a Mario Tornado like move. Final Smash = a heart summoning attack similar to Waddle Dee Army. What...? She lacks the flutter jump and ends up being one of the heavier characters in the game, believe it or not.
Wario SeriesMONA -- A Luigified Wario clone, Mona is what you'd expect: strong, a bit heavier than the other girls, and really spunky. There's not much to differentiate her from Wario other than she doesn't bite (she slams a pizza box) and she doesn't fart (she riffs on her guitar). Final Smash = Mona Girl.
SYRUP -- She's back! Captain Syrup is one of the few villainesses in the game, but she plays the role well. She is a swordfighter and utilizes pirate tactics to battle. Her B attacks all rely on her artillery to fight, including a cannon, pistol, and some Dangerous Ducks. Her Final Smash utilizes that famous genie to attack for her, of course.
Zelda SeriesZELDA/SHEIK -- More balanced than before, Zelda is the other main character in this game. She takes the role normally held by Link, of course. Not much else has changed, however.
MIDNA -- But of course! Midna is in her Twili form in this game, with the imp only appearing as a taunt and part of her Final Smash. Her specials and regular attacks share a lot in common with Mewtwo, though her play control is quite a bit faster. Her Final Smash is the Fused Shadows, of course.
VERAN -- The other villainess I came up with, Veran takes the role normally held by Ganondorf. In other words, she's a heavyweight character with a lot of brute power. Her attacks are powerful and her specials utilize magic to enhance her own strength rather than to be tossed as projectiles and spells. Her Final Smash is one of the three insectoid forms she took in Oracle of Ages, the form determining the direction she charges as she attacks (spider = horiz., bee = diag., moth = vertical).
Metroid SeriesSAMUS/ZAMUS -- The one and only. Far more balanced this time, the Samus/Zamus dynamic is played upon a bit less as Samus in her Power Suit is a major player in this game (taking Pikachu's "role" as a rep). Zamus is still involved as she is the "girl" Samus, but c'mon: in a chick fighter, Power Suit Samus is a hoboton more original than "generic babe in tight catsuit with gun."
Pokemon SeriesJIGGLYPUFF -- No longer a secret character, Jpuff has been balanced to NOT be a gag character and, bizarrely, I see her as the Kirby replacement. Yeah, that's right. She pops up in lieu of Kirby for all the "representing" and "promotion" of the game. Her moves still mostly suck, but she's back to her Melee usefulness.
POKEMON TRAINER (FEMALE) -- Still called Pokemon Trainer, this time the trainer is the girl from Leaf Green. The Pokemon also share her femininity: Squirtle wears a bow across its shell; Charizard sports braces and a necklace; and Ivysaur bears the seed and small heart spot on its forehead. The Pokemon have somewhat feminized voices as well, but have not changed in the least otherwise.
Kirby SeriesCHUCHU -- I DID come up with a halfway decent female Kirby character, which is totally crazy. Meet Chuchu, the "girlfriend" of Kirby in Kirby's Dreamland 3 (who also cameoed in 2 and 64). Chuchu is a Kirby clone with a lot of Luigified changes. Her B is a grab rather than a swallow, but still copies; her forward B is a sliding Parasol Carousel attack; her up B becomes a Dual Final Cutter attack that uses her multiple arms to wield more than one blade; and down B slams a stone directly before her rather than turning into one herself. The Final Smash is the Mic ability which still KOs like Cook but has a blast radius rather than a "pull."
Star Fox SeriesKRYSTAL -- Duh. She is a combo between Pit and the other space animals. She fights with a staff and thus a lot of her A moves bear resemblance to Pit's. Hell, her forward B IS Pit's. But the other moves are more unique. For a B attack she can fire charged laser shots, a nice change from the other animals. Her up B resembles Fox's in execution but the animation is completely differently. As for her down B she creates a psionic reflector shield rather than a technological one. The Final Smash is an aerial attack on a Skyrunner, because Landmasters r teh gai.
Fire Emblem SeriesLYN -- Another big duh. Sparing the details, she plays a lot like Marth but with original moves and a wizzleing katana. She's very fast. Final Smash is, of course, Mani Kati Mayhem (or however you spell it).
Donkey Kong SeriesDIXIE KONG -- An original Kong, but she basically fills the Diddy/DK gap as well. Her attacks utilize her hair to fight and she does fire off feathers similar to Diddy's Peanuts and spin her hair similar to DK's Helicopter Spin. Her other two moves are a bit different, and her Final Smash uses Kiddy Kong as a summon. But, otherwise, she's what you'd expect from a Kong.
Ice Climber SeriesNANA (SOLO) -- Nana appears as a solitary fighter! Just imagine playing as the Ice Climber, Nana, with your second climber already KO'd and a useable up B (now she throws the frigging tether at the ledge, not to Popo). Cool, huh?
Mother SeriesKUMATORA -- Took some thinking, but I figure Kumatora's the more sensible fighter between herself and Paula. Plus Paula isn't really that original standing next to characters like Peach, y'know? Kumatora is just a blend of Ness and Lucas, so not much going on here. Personally I would play as her, but I'm not sure how others may feel.
F-Zero Series
LILY FLYER -- Another controversial choice, but let me explain. Jody Summer may seem logical, and there are choices like Ms. Arrow and Princia out there. However, Ms. Arrow and Jody Summer offer no real fresh "look" beyond Captain Falcon. I mean, they're really just Falcon with tits, right? Princia, on the other hand, is just an F-Zero version of Peach. Not really that original. So, I went with Lily Flyer because although I would imagine her as a girly Falcon clone, she at least has a look and personality that would seem original compared to the rest of the cast. Plus she's a new enough character to seem relevant to the franchise. Would you rather have some middle-aged Falcon with tits, or a spunky 20-something year old in military garb wearing goggles? Both would have similar attacks, but I personally would go for the fresher character in the end. Even if Jody is more significant (and maybe even less sexist), Lily's just a better pick in my mind.
Original/New SeriesLIP -- Here she comes, from Panel de Pon! Another florally themed character, but she's much more flower heavy than Daisy is (Daisy is more sporty and athletic in her style). Lip is the requisite "fairy" character. She can hover like Peach, gets an extra jump despite lacking wings, and has really good reach with her magical attacks. Her A attacks all involve using the Lip's Stick like a magic wand; her specials include the infamous Lip's "sticking" with poison, a full body healing move (she ducks into a blossom for that one), and garbage block summoning. She can also fly with her up B a la Pit. Lip is a very light character to compensate for her recovery abilities, however. Btw, since she's in, the Lip's Stick is no longer an item...
JILL DOZER -- From Drill Dozer, of course. Jill is another heavyweight character, ranking as the heaviest character in the game. She's small and packs a punch, with her drill attacks dealing massive combo damage. She's basically what you would expect her to be like, really.
ALICE -- From Balloon Kid! Alice is the "weird" character for this game. To play with her you need to keep replenishing balloons, and her whole play mechanic relies on them to survive. Like the Pikmin, she cannot use any specials or a good chunk of her attacks without balloons. Plus the balloons give her amazing recovery. If she happens to lose balloons she can blow up some more, but she's crippled without them. Definitely a veteran player's character, much like Olimar.
BARBARA BAT -- From Band Brothers! Barbara is the requisite "rocker chick" all female groups have, and she fights tooth and nail--literally. All of her attacks are bites, scratches, and kicks. As a matter of fact, she plays a LOT like the other biter/scratcher: Wolf. Her specials include flying drill attacks, strumming on her guitar, and summoning her band for a Final Smash. The fourth heaviest character in the game, after Jill, Birdo, and Veran.
SAMI -- From Advance Wars! Sami is basically a Snake clone, through and through. She is much lighter and a bit faster, but her attacks are very similar in execution and style. What else is there to say? Her Final Smash uses the Neotank rather than a chopper.
AIRAN -- From Sin and Punishment! Unlike Saki, Airan was a bit slower but with more control. So, she fights more with her blade and lacks the speed/jump while retaining her aiming and dexterity. She fights as a cross between a sword fighter, like Meta Knight, and a projectile character, like Fox.
HIKARI -- From Shin Onigashima, Hikari fulfills the "geisha" role in the game. Well, she's not REALLY a geisha and fights more like any other girl in the game, but she does have that Japanese "flair" that is missing as of yet. Hikari fights with dual fans which she wields from beneath her sleeves; she's also followed by her three animal companions: Ringo the dog, Matsunosuke the monkey, and Ohana the pheasant. Each animal plays into one of her specials, and so they are essential for her gameplay. The animals take damage like Pikmin but do not "die"--they just go out of commission for a while (they have something similar to stamina) and lock out that move in the meantime. Her B tosses dual fans like boomerangs; her forward B sends Ringo into a lunging attack; her up B flies upwards on Ohana; and her down B has Matsunosuke tossing fruit at the opponents. Her Final Smash summons Donbe to wreck the stage with his high-flying spear attacks.
And that's the cast! If you can think of more characters to add, feel free to reply or send me an idea over PM. I wracked my brain for these, so I'd be glad to add more!
EDIT:
Third Party Series--Third party characters from this point should now be staples in the Smash Bros. series, and Super Smash Sisters is no different! Here are the whopping THREE lovely female additions to the game
CHUN-LI -- The gorgeous kicking fiend from Capcom's Street Fighter II, Chun-Li enters the fray as a powerhouse character on par with the greats. She's a mid-heavy character with a lot of strength in her legs. As for specials, expect her own variants of the famous fireball, lightning kick, and a few others. Her Final Smash summons the likes of other famous Street Fighter femme fatales for a cameo dual-strike.
AMY ROSE -- Of course, Sega tosses in "Sonic's girl!" Amy rivals Peach in personality and stats, but her hammer packs a bigger punch. Picture a character as light as Sonic who moves and fights like King Dedede and you have Amy in a nutshell. Her attacks include swinging the PicoPico Hammer for full frontal flips, mini-quakes, forceful tornado spins, and a bevy of others.
VALKYRIE -- WHO? Namco tosses a character into the mix that rivals the obscure! Valkyrie from the Legend of Valkyrie games appears in a fighting style very similar to Link's. A popular character over in Japan, Valkyrie is a welcome addition with her powerful sword attacks, Norse magic, and her Final Smash: the screen clearing Ragnarok!
Other ideas for third party characters that could be implemented include Castlevania's Maria Renard as a goth loli character with "summoning" attacks, any of the women from Final Fantasy (my pick would be Terra from FF6 or a generic White Mage), Roll and Tron Bonne from Mega Man/Legends, Morrigan Aensland from Darkstalkers, or Sophitia/Cassandra from Soul Calibur. There are tons of others, but those were the ones I also ran through my mind.
Again: if you have another Nintendo femme to suggest, please go ahead. I can think of others, but I am strapped for GOOD suggestions.
