Super Smash Sisters
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~An update to the Smash Sisters idea, just basically with more elaboration on the characters in general. When I picture this game, it would basically use dialogue and big ass drawings of the characters (with various expressions) to go with the speaking parts. The actual in-game models would be very similar to the two DS Final Fantasy games in that they are somewhat blocky and low-res but otherwise very animated. I mean, this could be on another console easily, but for some reason I picture the DS as being a great market for this sort of game.
Playable RosterSuper Mario Bros. SeriesPeach -- the most average character, she is essentially the same as her Brawl incarnation. She takes the same leading role that Mario tends to take in these crossover games. She'll kill you with kindness.
Daisy -- the Peach "clone," Daisy is actually a much faster and more agile fighter. She relies more on her kicks and punches than Peach's "feminine wiles" and magic, and her specials utilize some of the floral and crystal powers from the Mario spinoff games. Her Final Smash is her own variation on "Negative Zone." Daisy is still very much the tomboy.
Birdo -- sort of like Yoshi, but not really. She's heavier and shoots her eggs dead-ahead from her vacuum-like mouth. Birdo is actually one of the heavier/slower characters in the game. Her Final Smash uses her "female love" on the other players. Still a bit gender-questionable.
Wendy -- think of a miniature Bowser, and you get the gist. Sorta. Wendy is a ring-fighter, meaning that she fights with her twin rings as her main weapons. She still claws and hits hard with her shell, but many of her tilts and aerials involve her jewelry. For her Final Smash, Wendy summons "Daddy!" to send a Doomship and crash the stage with a giant Thwomp. Wendy is a whiny brat, as it should be.
Ms. L -- Mario and Luigi's long-lost sister, Ms. L wears a green shirt and overalls just like her older brother, Luigi. She wears a face mask because of a minor cough she caught during her adventure rescuing a prince from a far-off kingdom from the clutches of an evil sorceress. She also has a bit of a nasally and gruff voice, but she swears it's just the cold. Her Final Smash is a spiraling green fireball that mimics Mario's own Mario Finale. She doesn't talk much...
Donkey Kong SeriesDixie Kong -- the midpoint between Diddy and Donkey, Dixie relies on both nimble attacks and heavy blows. Her ponytail can be used to attack for a few of her standard moves, and by using her Up Special she can gently float down by twirling the mobile hair. Her Final Smash whistles in Kiddy Kong to fight alongside her, barreling foes with his heavyset and dimwitted childishness. She makes chimpy/monkey noises, like the other Kongs, but her "bubblegum pink" personality is still there.
Wario SeriesCaptain Syrup -- a speedy, sword-wielding character, Syrup's pirateyness comes through with a lot of saber strikes and kicking attacks. She can summon a cannon with her Down B and use it attack foes or hitch a ride; her Side B tosses treasure that she can then use as fodder. Her Final Smash pulls out the infamous lamp from the end of Wario Land. She's swarthy and awesome, and you know you love it.
Mona -- a spunky teen, she sort of follows in Wario's footsteps with similar moves and a similar playstyle. She's faster and lighter and doesn't have so many "gross-out" moves, but the general idea's the same. Instead of farting, she rips a chord on her guitar amp. Her Final Smash is the original creation Mona-Girl, a pom-pom wielding superheroine. Just like the Wario Ware games, Mona is very upbeat and just a bit too weird.
Legend of Zelda SeriesZelda/Sheik -- another leading lady, she can transform between the princess and the ninja forms. She is essentially the same as she was in Brawl. Think of her as being in Link's role. Still very quiet, just like royalty.
Veran -- the arch-villainess of Adventure Mode and a justifiably insane Ganondorf clone, Veran is slow, heavy, and powerful. She has attacks named after various insects that look and function somewhat similarly to Ganon's moveset: Mantis Strike as a powerful slashing punch, Moth's Shade as a dashing burst, and so forth. Her Final Smash transforms her into one of three different insectoid forms, but it works like Ganon's. Like I said: she's pretty crazy, and most of her personality comes through like it did in the Oracle games.
Midna -- this time appearing in her human form, Midna has a lot of shadowy Twilit magic hidden up her very long sleeves. She is fast, nimble, and likes to kick; her specials bear a slight resemblance to Mewtwo's. She gets a "shadow ball," a teleport, and a few defensive maneuvers. Since she's so tall she becomes an easy target, which doesn't mesh with her lightness. Her Final Smash uses the Fused Shadows to strike the area around her. Her personality is what you expect coming from Twilight Princess: snarky and cool under pressure.
Tetra -- the only "toon" character in the game, Tetra appears as just plain old Tetra. She is somewhat fast and has a lot of extra abilities (crawling, for one). She kicks and punches, even though she does have a saber, to keep herself separate from Syrup. Her specials use the Deku Leaf, the Grappling Hook (tether!), Bombs, and throwing Daggers. Her Final Smash is her own variation on the Triforce Slash, and the only one of its kind in this game. Tetra still has the same attitude she had in Wind Waker.
Metroid SeriesSamus/Zero Suit Samus -- same as she ever was, really. Samus and Zamus are just like their Brawl incarnations, though Samus has been returned a bit to her Melee greatness and Zamus nerfed just slightly. Samus's Final Smash is now chargeable, which means that you can opt NOT to become Zamus if you don't hold B the entire time. Likewise, Zamus's FS is officially the "Crystal Flash" now and also requires a full charge to become Samus again. Both are selectable on the Select Screen, just like Zelda/Sheik. Samus takes Kirby's role as a "mascot" for Smash.
Kid Icarus SeriesPalutena -- Palutena appears as one of the main villains of the Adventure Mode (though not for long...), and is somewhat of a Pit clone but not really. Palutena fights with her spear-staff, using the crystal end for specials and the speartip for standard attacks. She also wields a shield that may deflect projectiles. Very similar stats to Pit, and the same neutral and Down B attacks, but her other specials utilize her mastery of light to attack. Her Final Smash is NOT Palutena's Army but instead an attack known as Great Seal; it creates a portal to the Underworld that swallows all players "Cook Kirby" style to deal damage. She is very motherly and has an angelic personality. She grows wings of light, giving her three mid-air jumps like Pit and the ability to glide.
Kirby SeriesChuChu -- ChuChu is a very cheery and optimistic personality. She's a semi-clone of Kirby with moves that look similar but use different abilities/function differently. ChuChu can Copy like Kirby, but uses her arm to catch opponents rather than swallowing them. She can get five mid-air jumps by flapping her body and is one of the few characters who can use the new "Ceiling Hang" ability. Her Final Smash is the famous Mic ability from Kirby.
Pokemon SeriesPokemon Trainer -- this time around, the trainer is Green. She's pretty much the exact same thing as Red, so there's not much to be said. All her Pokemon are female, however, and reflect that in some way: Squirtle wears a bow, Ivysaur has a heart-dot on its forehead (though arguably it's female already in Brawl), and Charizard wears braces on its neck and wrists. Final Smash remains.
Jigglypuff -- taking Pikachu's role as a leading character, JPuff is exactly the same with some slight tweaks to make her more like her Melee self. Not... much else to be said.
Plusle & Minun -- a duo, Plusle and Minun are the "Pikachu/Pichu" of the game. They are definitely sisters, as evidenced by the more high-pitched voices and costumes, but function like the electric rodents from before. They work as a pair, similar to the Ice Climbers, and when the two are together the specials are much stronger. Plusle is slightly tougher than her sister Minun, while Minun is just a bit heavier than her sister Plusle. The Final Smash is a "dual" Volt Tackle, which sort of breaks the rules of Pokemon since they don't actually learn the attack but... whatever.
Mother/Earthbound SeriesPaula -- Paula is your Ness clone, plain and simple. She is dainty and cute, utilizing slight variations on his special moveset for herself. PK Fire and PK Thunder remain, but PSI Magnet becomes PSI Shield and deflects attacks rather than absorb them. B is now Pray, a light-burst attack that is very hard to hit with. Her FS is still PK Starstorm. Oh, and her Fsmash is the frying pan
Kumatora -- Kumatora, conversely, is the Lucas clone. She is a little faster and less reliant on "extended hitboxes" or "PSI-Powered A moves" than Lucas, since she's a tougher tomboy type. Her Specials change a bit around as well. PK Freeze and Fire switch places (that is, Freeze is the forward projectile now and vice versa). Thunder and Magnet are intact. As far as the FS, it becomes PK Ground, the final attack for Kumatora from Mother 3; think POW Block as a Final Smash, and you get the idea.
Star Fox SeriesKrystal -- think Falco meets Pit and you have Krystal in a nutshell. The slower of the two "space animals," Krystal is a high jumper and hits hard with her bo staff attacks. She has some psychic maneuvers for her specials as well. Her Final Smash summons a Skyrunner to help her strafe the stage. As far as personality, Krystal is still British and more "mystic" than should be allowed.
Katt -- Katt is your Fox/Wolf "clone." She uses slashing attacks like Wolf for her A moves, but she has stats and moves around the stage more like Fox does. Her specials sort of combine both canine's movesets: the no-flinch laser, the angled dash-slash, etc. Her Final Smash summons a Pink Kat inspired Landmaster to take the stage. Personality wise, Katt sort of mimics Fox, just... female.
F-Zero SeriesJody Summer -- one of, what... three(?) Falcon clones, Jody Summer is a surprisingly heavy and mid-speed character. All specials are similar to Falcon's save Neutral B, which is the Space Bazooka (two references in one!). For her FS, Jody Summer uses the White Cat to run down foes. Personality wise, she's what you'd expect: pretty two-dimensional.
Lily Flyer -- the other Falcon clone, Lily is fast and light. She uses a lot of kicking and aerial attacks and her specials are much more similar to Falcon's than Summer's are, with everything having some sort of "rabbit" motif. For a FS, Lily uses the Bunny Flyer to hit opponents. Personality wise, Lily is pretty "tough" and a bit full of herself.
Fire Emblem SeriesLyn -- Lyn is probably the most fan-directed addition. She uses a katana to fight and, rightfully so, is speedy, agile, and light. She has a lot of "ninja" attacks, like the Manni Katti and a Critical Attack. She uses a bow, however, for her B. FS for Lyn is the Manni Katti Mayhem, a fast and powerful attack using multiple images. Personality? Lyn is the same as usual.
Titania -- the Ike clone, Titania is the heaviest and slowest character in the game. She fights with a battleaxe, meaning she has really slow but strong attacks. She also has the most superarmor of any character. Titania has earth and lightning-based attacks, for kicks, as opposed to fiery attacks. For her FS, she uses Sol, which works similar to Great Aether but can also recover damage for Titania if used correctly. For personality, Titania is very faithful and, like Ike, "fights for her friends" >.>
Caeda (Shiida) -- a THIRD FE character? Caeda fights with her polearm, meaning she has ridiculous reach with her standard attacks. Her neutral special tosses the spear to attack foes, which means she has to "collect" it again. If she doesn't, she has to kick and punch for her A attacks and loses some of the "punch" behind her specials. She will get it back without having to grab it only if she uses her Final Smash, gets KO'd, or the spear disappears and she uses one of her specials. For a Final Smash, Caeda hops on a pegasus and tosses a light-powered spear right through the stage; it works like Zelda's Light Arrows.
Other Nintendo SeriesNana -- Nana all alone. Oh well. She throws a grappling hook for her Belay attack now, but otherwise she works just like a solo Ice Climber. Is that a good thing?
Hikari -- Hikari has a look that combines her Captain Rainbow and Shin Onigashima appearances. She fights using her three animal companions, with one following her and the other two hanging in the background. She can switch them by using any of her directional specials; the dog does a lunging attack and will extend her reach when following her, the monkey adds weight and can toss fruit at enemies, and the pheasant gives her more airtime as well as flying her to safety. She fights, otherwise, with a pair of paper fans. Her Final Smash calls Donbe to fight for her, giving you full control of a broken character for a little while.
Barbara Bat -- Barbara gets a slight redesign to give her little wings, meaning she gets three jumps and can now glide. She uses her nails to attack, so think Wolf. For her Fsmash, she smashes her guitar. She has drilling slashes, musical attacks, and tosses magic cards with her Side B. For a Final Smash, the whole band joins in and they rock out the stage. Her personality is that of a rockstar, so she trashes random stuff for fun.
Jill Dozer -- Jill rides in the Dozer while she fights, making her a weird mix of a super heavyweight and "small" character. That said, she uses the machine for nearly all her attacks, including drilling punches and a Propeller recovery. For her FS, Jill kicks the Dozer into the prototype Fourth Gear, nearly quadrupling the size of the drill as she pummels into opponents. As far as personality, she's still a pretty thickheaded and adventurous kid, as well as the resident "techie" of the game.
Sami -- Sami is basically "Snake," but not really. She is a heavier character with less "armor" and a bit more speed, as well as a power downgrade. Her attacks and movement style are less stealthy, but Sami still uses CQC and explosives to fight. The grenade becomes a mortar grenade, the NIKITA a simple RPG, the Cypher changes to a downward burst from a bazooka that propels Sami upward, and the C4s are now generic remote mines. Her FS throws her into the cockpit of a Neotank, which hovers in front of the screen and fires bombs onto the stage. As far as personality, she's steadfast and cool under pressure with a real sense of duty.
Alice -- The requisite "cute kid" character. Alice is like Olimar in that she relies on her balloons to fight. Alice uses Down B to pump new balloons; how many she has determines her floatiness, number of jumps, and "defense." The balloons have their own bars of HP that will pop them if it ever hits zero; they can take hits for Alice sometimes, though. Two of her specials (Side and Up) change depending on how many balloons Alice has as well. For a FS, Alice draws a magical creature from Pencilvania to attack with the help of a magic crayon. She's just a regular ol' cute kid.
Lip -- Lip would be deemed the new Meta Knight, easily. All of her standard attacks use the wand, meaning Lip's Stick is removed as a regular item. Only her standard B, however, has the ability to plant a flower on the foe's head. She is super light, but gets 3 jumps and a hover. Her Side B is the infamous Garbage Block Drop, while her Up B is a flying move similar to Pit's (Lip has learned to enchant herself with magic wings for temporary flight). For a Down Special, Lip undergoes Photosynthesis, a shielding attack where she rests inside a bud and heals 5%/3sec. She is able to float anywhere using this attack, but the bud offers no protection from direct attack. There is enormous lag when coming out the bud as well. For a FS, Lip casts a spell called Petal Storm, blowing characters around the stage and planting their heads with flowers. Lip is sometimes overconfident, sometimes unsure of herself--just like Captain Rainbow.
Airan -- a cross between Fox and Meta Knight, Airan fights with a gunblade type weapon. She is light and very speedy; her standard B, laser fire, can rapid fire with minor flinch for 8 shots before laggy recharge. Her other specials are standard reflector-type moves or no-damage recovery. For a Final Smash, Airan leaps into the center of the stage and sprays a furry of laser bullets across the floor, sending foes flying. Airan is a more emotionless albeit talkative character, but she gets the job done.
Miranda -- the Custom Robo rep, Miranda is the first of the requisite robot characters, in this case the "girlie robot." Miranda takes on her appearance from the DS game Custom Robo Arena and is the final character with the ability to hover. She is heavy, but surprisingly fast, like Samus. Her specials revolve around the Arm/Leg/Pod/Body mechanics of Custom Robo, including leg booster recovery and a "bomb spreader" attack. For a Final Smash, Miranda unleashes all of her artillery in one stream of attack that streams forwards and blasts foes away (as well as sending her backwards). Miranda's personality is just yips and yelps, seeing as she IS a toy.
Beyon -- from Card Hero, Beyon makes her feline appearance. Beyon seems like a mix between Pikachu and Peach, and in a way she is. She fights on all fours and has many headbutting, scratching, and tailwhipping standard moves; her specials rely on the magic of her tail ring and summoning gems and light to attack. In the older game, Beyon was a springy jester creature; for a Final Smash, Beyon transforms into a feline version of this creature to bounce across the stage spewing gems and spreading damage. As a cat/monster-thing, she lacks any real personality beyond the animalistic one.
Now, for third party I have...
Chun-Li, Marina Liteyears, Amy Rose, and ValkyrieI debate why I went with four, but then again I went and made something like Beyon a character, so...
As far as OTHER additions, I did place quite a few characters into NPC-type roles or they became Assists. More on that.
