Whoo, The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (finally) arrived yesterday ;D And I think I've found a cameo reference in the game (unless it's been found already). When you're at Mount Crenel Base, you can find special beans at some places, and if you sprinkle some water on them with the bottle, a plant will grow out of the bean which you can climb... I'm not sure, but I think the sound you hear when the plant grows is the same sound you also hear when a plant grows out of a box in Super Mario Bros (this is the sound I'm talking about: www.classicgaming.com/tmk/sounds/wav/smb_vine.wav). EDIT: Whoops, I meant reference instead of cameo of course.

I noticed that alot of the Polarium puzzles are supposed to look like... stuff. But, puzzle #63 is definently a Sheriff referance.

Definitely a Sheriff reference, eh? You mean these guys: I'm not quite so sure I also noticed that vine sound. It's not identical to any from a Mario game... I suspect it's just Nintendo's stock "growing" sound, and I doubt it was intended as a Mario reference.

What about in Super Mario Bros. 2 they had the same mysterious floating mask character (Facade) from Kirby's Dreamland.
Then in Kirby's Adventure/ Fountain of Dreams DX they had a caped enemy to get Hi Jump Kirby who name is Starman.
And what about diffrences between the Star Rod for Kirby and Paper Mario.

In Earthbound, if you knock on what of the buildings, a voice asks "This is a Beatle's song. ***terday. Do you know the answer?" and if you put Yes, you get the question right.
Or in Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars, one of the seven trials at the end of the game is avoiding Chained Kong's rolling barrels, similar to the DK arcade.

I've had loads of emails about those two. I need screenshots!

Not sure if this is a cameo or not, but in the Kakiriko village stage of Zelda : four sword adventures, just before the man who wishes that it would rain, there is a chain chomp-like creature who will attack you if you get too close.

Even....One more.....WarioWare Twisted.... cameo!!!!
ƒvƒŠ`ƒ“ < < < View 'em in SJIS coding! In one of Crygor's games you'll have to shake your GBA/SP/DS so that the pudding/octopus/litter in the upper container will drop out.
When you're playing the 3rd level (the one that you duel with litters), when the litters come out, some Kanji characters will be revealed. At that moment you should hear the Mario 1-UP sound. (This 1-UP sound is used quite a lot here! Why aren't here Zelda cameo or F-Zero cameos, but particularly Mario cameos and Nintendo hardware cameos!?!?)

In Ana Hockey in WarioWare Twisted I'm pretty sure the mole that comes up is supposed to be Muddy from Mole Mania unless the Japanese have a thing for slapping sunglasses on moles.

The big Monty Mole in Super Mario World also wears sunglasses. So maybe they do.
