The Simpsons cameo with Mario was both unexpected and awesome.
The episode also featured the marriage of Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man.
Two classic video game references in one episode. Amazing.

It wasn't that unexpected, surely... there's been a Mario/Luigi/Donkey Kong/Sonic cameo in The Simpsons before, and a Mario cameo in Futurama as well. They like their videogames over at Gracie heights.
I noted the Fire Emblem cameo in PM2 when I played it, and will be adding it to the franchise section ready for the big update... whenever that might be. ;D

As long as we're mentioning television cameos. There's also a Donkey Kong cameo in Fairly Odd-Parents in the episode where Timmy gets challanged to a duel with some rich kid... and one of the challenges is to save the godchild from an ape. And it turns out it's a Donkey Kong cameo because when Cosmo walks up to save him... it's a Donkey Kong setup where the ape is throwing barrels at Cosmo.

The Mario and Luigi cameos in that old Simpsons episode were cool. They both sounded really similar to the way they sounded in the games. ...But then Sonic sounded exactly like Krusty...

I've seen that episode many times but never even noticed that!

Heh heh... I just accidentally found the Wave Race: Blue Storm logo in 1080: Avalanche... It's above the window in the "options cabin". Hmm... I wasn't expecting that... I just wanted to hurl myself down a mountain while I wait for this update to upload. Curse these cameo-seeking eyes.

I don't mean to be funny... but those screenshots look awfully... faked! Edit: But apparently they're not! I just checked a few code sites and Bubbles is indeed an unlockable character. Now I need this game too!! *steals screenshots* Edit Edit: Err... you don't mind if I use these screenshots, right? I'll give you full credit and everything

I don't mind if you use the screenshots but my site isn't opened yet, so if you could be kind, could you remove the link to my site?

Wheee! Thanks again! I'll try and get this up tonight, and if I'm in luck Deezer will have resent me the Minish Cap screenshots he took. Then the site's cameos and references will be almost completely up to date.
Then I suppose I'd better get to work on finishing the franchise section... and the NES section. I only have just under a week to get it done as well!
Must focus!

And yet another edit: NaganaoriGame in Wario Man's stage Apple CutGame in Mona's stage, featuring Mario Paint character.
