Oh **** it's back. TrailerI hope Sega improves apon this one. Last one was dull, but had some awesome multiplayer and a good premise (controls could have been better). Comes out early 08. Hope it's good.

I heard the first got bad ratings. If so, why make a sequal? If it turns up the same as the first, that would give Sonic an EVEN WORSE reputation!

They have nothing better to do than beat the Sonic franchise to death with a flacid horse cock. This game is going to be as bad as the last if not worse, because Sega/Sonic Team are terrible at learning from their past mistakes (which is why Sonic '06 still suffered from all of the same issues that plagued Sonic Adventure, which came eight years beforehand). What makes this trailer hilarious is the amount of cheesy photoshop effects encumbering the thing. Sorry, Sonic Team, but flashy effects won't hide the suck!

Aaaaand another Sonic-related thread descends into bashing.
I loved the first Riders. The turbulence system wasn't very good, and generally just dragged you off-course, but it was my favourite of the recent games. The main problem it had was the learning curve. Even when you're great at the game, you'll still be cutting it close on most races.
For this one UGA have dialed down the AI and removed the turbulence entirely. Both complaints from Riders 1 gone. It should be good.

Well, I love the Sonic franchise, and would love nothing more than this to be a good game. Unfortunately, SEGA's not about the quality, but the money. Kids are still buying these games, and SEGA is still making money.

I have a Sonic Riders poster on the wall of my bedroom, but I never got the actual game knowing it sucked balls. I sure hope this won't be the same!

Kids are still buying these games, and SEGA is still making money. Unfortunately, that's true. That's why they made Sonic Team rush out Sonic 2006 before it was finished, after all. But judging from recent comments by Simon Jeffery (the head of Sega of America) they've finally become aware of the problem, and they're dealing with it.

Sonic Rush on the other hand, was one of their funnest most recent games. I'm hoping Rush Adventure is as well...

The last suffered the same fate as Secret Rings. Good idea, but a bit lacking in the end. Heres the problems I saw with Riders, and how to fix them.
Turbulence-Thuis was a wonderful idea. An easy way for those beind to catch up. Perfect. besides the fact you couldn't get out of it. All it really needs is a way to get out of it. Then, it'd be awesome
Controls-The controls were a bit slick in the game. I had to press R/L alot. Sadly, it'd be hard to correct. Kirby Air Ride had a similar probobly, requireing the boost a lot.
Character diversity-Were they balanced? Yes. but that's becuase they all were pretty much the same. The types helped a bunch, but they could all use the same machines and had similar stats. Make some gears more specific and make some stats diverse. Make a quick accel Power character, or a Flying with high top speed. Or give them special artibutes.
Air-It was a wonderful idea. it forced you to manage your fuel, but also use it to boost. Nice. But there was too much emphasis. Once out (and it will happen) you were screwed. Just amke it so it doesn't drain as bad, or you run faster.
Oh, and some online play would be nice too.

The types helped a bunch, but they could all use the same machines and had similar stats. Well, that's... just not true. Go into the Gear gallery, you'll see that every gear has faces in it's data to show which characters are able to use it. Mario Kart DS, on the other hand... THERE'S a game where all characters can use the same machines. And it's one of the best racing games around! Air didn't drain that fast, unless you were boosting too much or not doing enough tricks. Once you hit level 3, you should never really even get half empty. Unless you wind up in somebody's turbulence and get sent head-first into a wall.

I hated that Mario Kart DS let everyone use all the vehicles. It gave you tons of options, sure, and it let me put Toad in the Dry Bomber... but it just made it seem cheap to me, for some reason I really can't explain.
Hopefully this game will be pretty sweet. It's on the Wii, so it'll be fun to play. That's for sure. They better market the hell out of it; it could easily sell very very well.

Aaaaand another Sonic-related thread descends into bashing. In my defense, I've lost four of my favorite game franchises to Sega's inability to perform proper business procedure all so the Sonic games can continue to act as the homeless junkie friend that spends all his time in your house and the houses of your friends, hogging all your chips and cheese dip salsa. One of those franchises actually helped change my life, and very much so for the better. I'm not just "bashing" Sonic for the hell of it. That's not my style. My problems with Sonic Riders, specifically, lie in how frustrating it is and how there's no innovation. There's no point in playing a game if it fails to do so much as entertain you.

I know it's just because you used to love the series, and feel like it's gone completely down the toilet... I can understand that. But you have to remember that it's still very popular and there are a lot of people who love what it is now, too. You do tend to say things that do get me a little riled up, since I'm one of the people who does still love the series. I'd be the first to admit that the gameplay needs work. But outside of that, I really love who the series has evolved, and the diversity of the characters and storylines. Sonic Team have built up their own little world around this guy, and if that was suddenly ripped away, I'd be losing one of my favourite series. It'd be like Mega Man all over again (How I miss you, Classic Mega Man ).

It's more for the fact that Crazy Taxi and Power Stone have had their growth stunted, and Skies of Arcadia and Jet Set Radio have been discontinued, than anything Sonic has been or will be. (And believe me, I'm equally as bitter at Capcom and Keiji Inafune for being retarded about Classic Megaman. Fscking Megaman Star Force my hairy white ass.) I'm sorry I get you riled, though.

Hey, don't worry about it. I'm just overly passionate about the games I like, which my girlfriend loves to tease me for. It isn't your fault. No hard feelings here.
