Who in the rolling blue balls is Shade? Shadow's evil, black-furred doppelganger? Granted, I'm not the most educated Sonic fan anymore, but I've never heard of Shade before this point.

As for the name thing, calling "Shade" the most unoriginal is pretty unfair, seeing as how most of the names derive from adjectives describing the characters' physical or special traits already (Tails, Knuckles, Big, Blaze); the most original names in the series that I can fall behind are "Tikal" and "Vector," because, well, they avoid that pitfall completely. Which is not to say "Shade" is a poor choice, considering how we already have "Shadow," but to be honest only "Silver" outshines that as a worse character name. |

Well, at least she is not another hedgehog, but don't misunderstand me I´m highly anticipating this game seems like the best Sonic game since SA2.
And I fins Shade´s name highly unoriginal because we already got Shadow, it fits in the Sonic series naming conventions pretty well.

The characters are typically named after their powers or a physical trait. Exceptions are Amy, Rouge, and Shadow.

Blazer the Hedgehog sounds like the 900 million or so fancharacters that pollute the screwball fanbase that surrounds Sonic.
I just reminded myself of that thread NinjaRygar made regarding such a subject a while back.
