Don't forget, Pac-Man has actually appeared in a bunch of (not great) platform games before, so he actually has quite a few moves to draw from. And I'm sure Sakurai could come up with a few more ;D

He has roll attacks, bounce attacks... he's basically a big ball. Ever played the Pac-Land/World games?

Oh, and someone from Castlevania - eg. Simon Belmont or maybe Soma Cruz (he's been on Nintendo systems only, right?) should be on the list. I'd love to see Soma Cruz make it. He's got plenty of excellent moves and his two appearances have been on Nintendo systems. The problem is that I'm figuring that only ONE character gets to represent each third party, and Solid Snake took Konami's spot, which is why I excluded Soma Cruz. Since no other 3rd party annoucements have been made, I can speculate on the other third parties more deeply (which is why I have three Capcom characters and two Namco and Hudson characters on my list). Fryguy - I can't say I've played any of Pac Man's recent forays in platforming...which is why I think his movelist isn't that exciting sounding. Of course, with some creative ideas from his DS/GBA games, he could be quite interesting...his Up + B could be trailing a line of pellets and eating them OR a pinball flipper could whack him upwards, for an example.

Well... that's like basing Mario's moves only on the original Donkey Kong. I mean, Pac-Man has probably appeared in more games than most other videogame characters, it's just only the originals are really the popular ones.
Doesn't mean they should be ignored though.

He had a slingshot in Pac-Man 2 as far as I remember. He could also rollout like Jigglypuff or Yoshi. If they wanted to give him alter egos, there's Super Pac-Man, Knight Pac-Man, Winged Pac-Man. I've not played Pac-Man World, so that's pretty much what I can come up with.
The Power Pellet could be an item. And a Pac-Man-based stage could be a classic Pac-Man labyrinth with walls as non-solid platforms (and the floors as walls) or something like that.

I just love all the crazy Pacman rip-offs out there. Anyone here heard of the Weebl and Bob web animation series? Then check this out: www.weebls-stuff.com/games/ultimate+pie+theft/I always wondered if the big flashy pill was Pac's version of steroids....

True enough point. I hastily typed up my comment this morning before I left, but I was thinking about the possibilities of Pac Man's movelist and it opened up some neat ideas. His Right + B move could be him doodling a Pac Pix and sending that across the screen. A Roll move is another possibility. If he had a Slingshot in Pac Man 2 (which I believe he did), he could have that as a B move. He could grow to giant size (via Super Pac Man...if my memory's correct), throw fruit...there's more than I originally thought.

I'd actually rather Alucard for another Konami character, though he probably wouldn't be in before Simon or Soma.

I think the problem is if we have Solid Snake, Bomberman and Simon Belmont, we're basically looking at half a sequel to SSBM and half a sequel to Dream Mix TV Mega Fighters (or whatever it was called).

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Robert. Tha's a little obvious, isn't it? Well, I have tried and failed to register for this forum numerous times, and that's because I didn't realize how much AOL sucks, but that's another story. Anyway, I come to this thread to offer my brand of speculation for Brawl. 26 oldies + 5 confirmed newbies = 30 total Given that the maximum amount will possibly be 40, I'd say that these guys should be added: -Wolf O'Donnel -Ridley -Samurai Goroh -Balloon Fighter -Mach Rider I say they have a chance of getting into Brawl because they were given special attention in Melee. Wolf, Ridley and Goroh were in the intro while BF and MR's theme songs were buried in there. This brings the total up to 35. that leaves 5 more. My picks are: -Toad -Diddy and Dixie as a team -King DeDeDe -Deoxys -Lip However, early on, I though that some characters would be removed. I figured that the ones most likely to get the ax were Dr. Mario ( ) and Roy . In their place they could add Starfi and Flint, or maybe Takamaru and Sky Skipper, or someone along those lines. If there were room for more, they could add Munclax or Lukario for a 3rd gen Pokemon. That's my two-hundered cents.

Personally I'm not so sure we need Diddy and Dixie as a team a la the Ice Climbers. I would like to see them as separate characters.

Haha, everyone only wants Sky Skipper in there because I drew him "updated". He would be a rubbish fighter. What would he do, exactly?
I don't think being referenced in Melee is any indication that they will be available in Brawl. Some music is just too good to NOT include, even if it means skipping a playable character. I imagine that was the case with Mach Rider and Balloon Fighter. They just wouldn't work all that well.
Besides, Alice or Balloon Man would be better characters from that series than Balloon Fighter.
I'm hoping the selection is well considered. People will moan, but they'll get over it. In fact, I'm priming myself to moan for AGES about Sukapon and Takamaru not being in there. If they are (even as trophies) then I will be a happy man!
