That is assuming they bring back the trophies idea.

I sure hope so... it was pretty fun collecting them and a nice way to learn some more about Nintendo history.

As long as we get different ones this time round, I'll be happy.

I expect they will keep it, as it was one of the most loved areas of Melee. By me anyway... but I'm sure other people liked it too.
I'm personally hoping for fewer trophies this time around, but I would like it if their information was more detailed, or the trophies themselves were animated somehow. That would be awesome.

Haha, everyone only wants Sky Skipper in there because I drew him "updated". He would be a rubbish fighter. What would he do, exactly? I don't think being referenced in Melee is any indication that they will be available in Brawl. Some music is just too good to NOT include, even if it means skipping a playable character. I imagine that was the case with Mach Rider and Balloon Fighter. They just wouldn't work all that well. Besides, Alice or Balloon Man would be better characters from that series than Balloon Fighter. I'm hoping the selection is well considered. People will moan, but they'll get over it. In fact, I'm priming myself to moan for AGES about Sukapon and Takamaru not being in there. If they are (even as trophies) then I will be a happy man! You have to admit those drawings are rare and are going to give people a reason to justify those characters' appearances in SSBB. I do like Balloon Fighter, no matter how overused has he been the last years with cameos and ports or his "lack of a name". Balloon Man's physics make the most sense among those three, though. As for the trophies, it's expectable that SSBB will include some sort of encyclopedical information in some way. In SSB (N64), they included bios for the playable characters (with the characters' game models moving at random). So SSB without Nintendo history is not SSB. My question about the trophy/bio section is, what are they going to do with third party company stuff? Would there be bios only of things that make cameos in the SSBB? Would it be restricted only to those characters' game series (it should IMO)? Also, I'm putting my eyes on this Pokémon, Darkrai. It's one of the Shinou legendaries. Seeing as how Arseus is like a god for Pokémon, and judging by Darkrai's type and a Pokédex number close to Arseus', people believe Darkrai may be some sort of a demon or evil being. IDK, it probably lacks legs to be a standard SSB fighter, but if it's actually a villain Pokémon, then they may want to use it in SSBB.

Weebl & Bob is the best!!! "Damn you Wee Bull!" "Don't you know what happens to schoolgirls in Japanese cartoon?" >:( I think Deoxys needs to stay the hell away from Brawl. I can't stand it. Lucario or the fighting-type Kirlia evo make more sense (particularly Lucario now that it's not a legendary). But I also think we should have Scizor in as a playable too, since it's Steel/Bug, as neither type has been represented in the game yet and it found popularity as a summon. Speaking of which, what Pokemon do you think we'll see pop out of the Pokeballs now? Will we see more than the last game's 29? Personally I feel that all four sets of starters should be represented somehow--any member of their evolutionary chains would do. I'd also love to see Ralts and Absol, since they've got a very low chance to actually appear as playables. I wouldn't mind if Deoxys was a summon, though--as long as it's not playable. Elekibble would be a great summon, too, now that I think about it.

On the Trophies:
There need to more. Twice the amount of the previous game, even. we gotta have as much Nintendo history as possible.
On the Pokemon:
I chose Deoxys because we needed a playable 3rd genaration one. Plusle and Minun just wouldn't cut it. No more Pikalikes, In fact, they could alliviate that by changing Pichu to The Pichu Bros. from Pokemon Channel. It would be a new kind of team character and and a better-than-Pichu character in one.
As for the Pokeballs, I have a feeling they'll replace all the ones in Melee with similar ones from the 3rd genaration. Mean we'll see Sceptile and Blaziken and stuff.

Pichu Bros. would be possible since they were referenced in SSBM, Event 48. But what makes more sense for a graceful and true-to-the-game tag team than Plusle & Minun? Few Pokémon would, and these days you see Plusle & Minun replacing Pichu in Pokémon merchandise and banners. Plus they don't have to be hurt after making a move unlike Pichu. The only bad thing I see on Plusle & Minun is the fact that Electric Pokémon would be being over-represented.
I'd love to use Scizor, as bugs are what inspired Tajiri to create Pokémon, but I don't think it has really much chances. Only time will tell; many months of games and anime is ahead regarding Pokémon, and who knows, people may forget about Blaziken and Gardevoir.
As for Deoxys, it has the potential to set a new standard for SSB characters, like any new Pokémon. Although uncomfortably, Pichu introduced a way to hinder characters by allowing them to hurt themselves. Mewtwo proved no contact is needed to grab items when "mind over matter" is what the character is made of. If Plusle & Minun had appeared before (and they had chosen any other character instead of Ice Climbers), then I bet they would have been the tag team pioneers.
Touche, I also think Absol should make an appearance from a Poké Ball since it's so rare and has rare moves. For other 3-Gen, other peculiar enough Pokémon would be Exploud, Camerupt, Torkoal, Metagross, and couples (possibly coming from a "double Poké Ball" item).

I was thinking that if they did use the Pichu Bros., then Plusle and Minun could appear as an alternate color scheme for them. They are pretty similar in terms of move inspration, right?

Well, their shapes are too different to do something like Peach/Daisy or Captain Falcon/Blood Falcon. In terms of moves it might work, unless they plan to use something based explicitly on the moves Helping Hand or Spark, which are learnable by Plusle & Minun and not by Pichu.
And I'm not sure if they would add them under "Pichu Bros." in SSBB. They're specific Pokémon characters (Pichu Big and Pichu Little) that don't come from the main games, unlike a generic couple of Plusle and Minun.

The thing is, though - both of them are electric types. I really think one is enough, since they would likely be pretty damn similar.

As long as they ditch Pichu and replace him with a pokemon that is neither as cheap or useless as Pichu is, I'll be very happy. Maybe someone such as Blaziken or Machoke.

Machoke is bland. Why have it when there's better pure fighting types like Hitmonchan (who also has the advantage of elemental punches), and more interesting mixed fighters like Lucario? I also see the Plusle/Minun combo not working out because they primarily use status affects--Attract, Encore, Helping Hand--and rarely actually attack. So far Mewtwo and Jigglypuff have status-based moves.

About my Pichu idea:
They wouldn't be called "Pichu Bros.", they'd be announced as "Pichu", except when you play the game you have two of them. They'd have moves that all the Pikalikes can use and at least one team-up move. The Plusle and Minun costume would probably just be a re-color, as opposed to looking exactly like them.
