I agree, but the remix was better than the original, so I'm glad it got done. It definitely made the DK Rap more popular. True, the SSBM version even made it to Donkey Konga. And speaking of Donkey Konga, I've always thought that the perfect substitute of the DK Rap would be the Donkey Konga theme. That ska rhythm is as funny as the DK Rap; it'd fit well in a DK stage. Another funny song I can think of is the Mona Pizza theme, possibly as an alternate song for a Wario stage.

Sakurai is probably going to take each song as it comes, as he did with SSBM. I mean, I just can't imagine some of them being played by orchestra (in fact, the SSBM orchestra CD I got even has the Game & Watch song on it - completely unrecognisable!) But I imagine the "epics" such as Zelda, Metroid and Fire Emblem to have a full chorus. And the title theme. But we have no idea how massive this game will be yet. Sakurai wants a full single-player platform adventure, we (and Nintendo) want online play. This could very well be one of the best things ever. I have that CD! I won it off Ebay and I really do love it. While the Game & Watch, Mute City, Mach Rider and Balloon Fighter don't sound the same, they did a fair job of emulating them with orchestral instruments. Not that I would expect traditionally orchestrated songs to fully populate the entire next game's musical score...no, if anything they ought to hire a Rock orchestra section for the F-Zero section (if they can do rock operas, rock orchestras shouldn't be anything worth sweating over) and allow certain songs to be synthesized, especially any 100% Retro songs. I believe Sakurai said he's limiting his 3rd Party choices to those who have served on Nintendo consoles in the past. You're likely to see Sonic or Megaman, but if you want Lara Croft you're SoL, you know?

Personally I'm not so sure we need Diddy and Dixie as a team a la the Ice Climbers. I would like to see them as separate characters. They don't have to be a la the Ice Climbers. They would have different B moves, and dB would switch between them, but they would have combined A moves like the ICs. So it would be like an IC/Zelda fusion.

I figured their movesets would be completely different except for one or two team-up moves.

None the less, I wouldn't hold my breath for Lara Croft in a SSB game.

Snake isn't Nintendo-exclusive. Your point?

Then her creator will ask Sakurai to put her in.

I agree, but the remix was better than the original, so I'm glad it got done. It definitely made the DK Rap more popular. I prefer the original version due to the fact that both Diddy's and Tiny's verses are more or less incomprehensable in the remixed version. Also I disliked the fact that the DK rap in melee lost the rhythm that it had in DK64. Also I was slightly dissapointed that they changed the word 'hell' in Chunky's verse to 'heck'. EDIT: Yay it's my birthday. Happy 22nd birthday to me.

Didn't Sakurai say that he's concentrating on the actual game rather than updating the Brawl website?
As for when we will hear more on what characters etc will appear, your guess is as good as mine!!

He said don't expect anything before early 2007. He just wants to get the game into a nearly-finished state. It was announced a LOT earlier in production than most games are.

Actually, he did speak out recently - just confirm that there wouldn't be any Wiimote pointer functionality "at least in the main game".
I wouldn't want any, anyway.

Maybe a few extra stages could be those Top Ride courses from Kirby Air Ride. Maybe just.......you know, basic ones.
They'd be remade from tracks to fighting stages. (Grindrails on Light are now temporary platforms, etc.) Grass would have the springy trees with exploding fruits and so on.

I haven't posted in FOREVER
But I just wanted to throw in that Sakurai DID speak recently about Sonic. He said he was the most requested character by FAR, and that Sega had not given them a response (despite Naka saying he wanted Sonic in a Smash game)
Irregardless, Sonic is likely going to appear >.> It would seem that even Miyamoto wants it to happen (it may have been him and not Sakurai that let the "lol, sonic is most requested" tidbit slip now that I think of it)
