The latest issue of EGM had Miyamoto saying that he'd like Sonic to appear, saying Sonic would be perfect for Brawl. I haven't read Sakurai saying that, myself.

Neither does Solid Snake, but he's there.
And so... without further ado... I suggest you start getting used to the idea of Sonic being in SSB Brawl. Because even though it has yet to be announced, it seems inevitable now.
I believe it was in a post-E3 interview that Sakurai mentioned something about Sonic - that he thought Sonic was a good example. I've also read an interview in Nintendo Official Magazine UK with Sonic Team where they said they'd be delighted if Sakurai asked them to put Sonic in SSB3 (as it was known at the time - as this was before E3).
So suck in that gut, because all signs are pointing to some Mario vs. Sonic action... FINALLY!! After all these years!!!

As craptastic as Sonic Adventure 2 was, it increased Sonic's inventory of attacks (I'd love to see them use the Bounce attack as one of his moves), and he's got more than just a homing attack to his name. Besides, this whole third-parties-in-SSBB thing was argued out waaaay back from, like, page 7 to page 13 in this topic.

I could easily see them basing Sonic's moveset off of what was seen in Sonic the Fighters and Sonic Battle.

OMGOMGOMG ohnoz not teh 3rd partee chars in ssbb its all nintendo!!!!!!!1111
More of the same stupid logic that fanboys always give us.
Miyamoto insisted that Sonic should be in there. It's set in stone. Just gotta wait for Yuji Naka and Sakurai, though.

Yuji Naka has actually said so himself that he wanted Sonic in there once.
Sakurai's just too busy on the game to even have his say about it.

It's not set in stone because that would mean it would have been announced and 100% confirmed.
At the moment, it is just a good, educated guess.
But for all you "3rd Party Hatrrz" out there, are you seriously saying Mario vs. Sonic doesn't appeal to you just a little bit? Just a wee amount? I think every Nintendo or Sega fan has wanted the face down at some point.

I think every Nintendo or Sega fan has wanted the face down at some point. This won't be a real battle between Mario and Sonic. Nintendo will try thier best to balance them meaning we will not get to actually see who would win in a fight. Besides the idea of Mario vs. (enter almost any Nintendo hero here) interests me far more than Mario vs. Sonic. I bought the past two SSB games to play a Nintendo-only fighting game. I don't see how being upset about non-Nintendo characters being in SSBB is stupid fanboy logic.

How can you have a "real battle" between two fictional characters? I think you're going loopy... I bought the past two SSB games to play a Nintendo-only fighting game. I don't see how being upset about non-Nintendo characters being in SSBB is stupid fanboy logic. Because you've had two of them anyway. And this one will have MORE Nintendo characters - it will just have a small number of non-Nintendo videogame characters as well. In short, you get what you had before, plus more, PLUS some stuff you'll just have to put up with. And it's a fanboyish response because you're UPSET about it. It's very well not wanting Solid Snake in the game, or preferring it if it stayed with just Nintendo characters, but the very fact it angers and/or upsets you marks you out as a fanboy. You have invested too much negative emotion into it. Unless you don't really care that much then yes, you are a fanboy. Admit it.

How can you have a "real battle" between two fictional characters? I think you're going loopy... Obviously I didn't mean a real fight. I meant a fight in which both characters power levels are equal to that of their powers in their respective series. Then we could see which one would actually win in a fight. I'm a fanboy because I'm upset about Nintendo making one of my favorite series worse(IMO)? So I guess anyone upset about the changes made to the Star Wars series is just a fanboy. And people who get upset when 4Kids makes stupid changes to their favorite anime? I believe I have every right to be upset. I've been looking forward to this game for a very long time, now it's lost the thing that made me a fan of the series. This doesn't make any sense. I bet everyone here would be just as upset as I am if Nintendo were to announce that Barney or the Care Bears were going to be in SSB.

Hey, look! It's "Concept Boy" again! ;D If you hate Solid Snake being in there so much, then stop continuously complaining about it, man. You get all uppity and/or angsty about this just as much as the mental patients at Donkey Kong Universe do so when Nintendo "ruins" their precious DK franchise.

A few posts ago you basically called me(and anyone else that doesn't want 3rd party characters in SSB) a stupid fanboy. Then you expect me not to say anything?
