Was Arcadenik the one who said Meowth should dress as a Team Rocket Grunt for an alternate costume? Because that was a fun idea for the sake of more game references.

LOL You actually remembered that, Johans? ;D Yeah, basically Meowth's palette swaps would have Meowth wearing different clothing articles based on Team Rocket/Magma/Aqua in addition to Shiny Meowth. This is what I had in mind: Default Color - regular Meowth; naked Red Team Color - regular Meowth; wears a small red-and-black hooded cape with black horns and Team Magma's logo on the back Blue Team Color - regular Meowth; wears a black-and-white striped tank top; wears a blue bandana with Team Aqua's logo on it Green Team Color - regular Meowth; wears a green bandana from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games Black Color - Shiny Meowth; wears a black tank top with red 'R' on it; wears a black beret; based on the Team Rocket Grunts from the games White Color - Shiny Meowth; wears a white tank top with red 'R' on it; wears no beret at all; based on Jesse and James from the anime I really wish Meowth would be playable in at least one Smash game. Is that too much to ask for? Thanks for the comments, Play-Yan Kun and Shrikeswind.

OMG FUSION DANCE.
I could see those two in Smash. But you probably knew that, Johans.

Those were my exact thoughts. I guess it works for them as they're kind of fusing their power into one.

That reminds me... was Pra_Mai really supposed to be Plusle and Minun? Basically, you just make a clone of Pikachu in the form of Pichu, add another Pichu, put them together as a team like the Ice Climbers, and replace both Pichu with Plusle and Minun.

Nobody likes clones though, and anyone with as much knowledge of Plusle and Minun as you have of Meowth could come up with something that doesn't resemble Pikachu or the Ice Climbers. I don't think it was ever definitive that pra_mai meant Plusle and Minun, as other "sub-characters" had files of their own (there's no such thing as popo_nana). But they were contemporary Pokémon when Brawl was being developed. And it's also odd how their trophy was part of the "Challenges" trophies right there with Mewtwo, Pichu, and other characters that are arguably relevant.

Good example. Sorry I couldn't be more exact, I'm having some hosting issues which can only be resolved through kicking someone in the nuts, and the offending person probably lives on Mars or something stupid like that. Row 12, Column 2. Tell me if the link doesn't work, I have the file saved on my computer now so I can just scribble it in. I can't remember who submitted this, though. Do you remember, Johans? I know you posted in there because I remember that Plusle & Minun animation that one random dude posted for me to put on the site to "give it more pop" and I made some dumb-ass comment and you had this reply that was just "Oh, crap. I think I got owned by Johans AGAIN."

I posted Plusle and Minun in this thread years ago, but the last images are visual backup that came out just recently.

Yeah, it's on the very first pages. I thought character couples wouldn't necessarily be exact clones of the Ice Climbers, so I posted two of them.

So THAT'S where my pants went. I got one. It's Arceus! Okay, so he has no hands. He's GOD. He doesn't need hands. His power affects items in a way not unlike telekinesis, but it's more of an invisible hand deal. Just bigger than Bowser (not taller, though, just longer,) Arceus cuts an impressive figure, and this is furthered in his stats. Having performed the necessary experiments to say so, Arceus is statistically similar to Cpn. Falcon, i.e., his running speed, the Smash attack power, and weight are high up there, his jumping height is above average, and everything else just kinda balances him out. However, while Cpn. Falcon falls really fast, Arceus' falling speed is fairly average, while he has a far greater traction. With regards to moves, I opted to take some interesting references for him, which I will quote. One interesting point is that, depending on his costume, one of Arceus' moves changes. I'll get to that in a moment. "For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them." Matthew 18:20I picked this verse to describe his Up-B, though in context it refers to a gathering in God's name that serves the complete opposite purpose. Try to ignore this. Anyways, Arceus' Up-B is ExtremeSpeed. Basically, he gets into his jumping pose, then you see him ABOVE HIMSELF, followed by the bottom one vanishing. If you get in between the two Arceus, you get hit. "The more they increased, the more they sinned against Me; I will change their glory into shame." Hosea 4:7A VERY appropriate verse to describe his next move, Arceus' B attack is Punishment. It works a bit differently from the games, so bear with me here. Basically, Arceus stomps the ground. Damage is normally 10, but there's a hitch: The move goes clear up to 30 damage if the opponent has taken less damage than Arceus, following the equation 30>=P=10+(A-B), in which P is the damage Punishment deals, A is Arceus' damage, and B is his opponent's damage. "Would you indeed annul My judgment? Would you condemn Me that you may be justified? Have you an arm like God? Or can you thunder with a voice like His?" Job 40:8-9Arceus' Side-B is best described through the final question in these two verses: Hyper Voice. Hyper Voice is Arceus' ranged attack, and it works quite as you would expect: Arceus roars, forcing opponents back with the power of his voice. Further, the roar damages opponents. Otherwise, though, Hyper Voice is pretty much standard fare for a ranged attack, though a bit wider ranged. "So they and all those with them went down alive into the pit, the earth closed over them, and they perished from among the assembly." Numbers 16:33Arceus' Down-B is well described in this verse. It is Earth Power, and it is quite useful. Basically, Arceus stomps the ground with one hoof, burying any opponent directly in front of him. Getting hit with the golden glow is pretty tough, but the hoof itself is the strong part of the move. "So I will stretch out My hand and strike Egypt with all My wonders which I will do in its midst; and after that he will let you go." Exodus 3:20Arceus' Final Smash is a beautiful move, as it he actually has six, one for each outfit. In each costume, this move changes. He has 6 outfits, of course, each representing a different type, namely Normal, Dark, Fire, Bug, Dragon, and Poison. The move, naturally, is Judgment. Judgment is a very powerful move that spans the entire stage. It deals more damage to and is more liable to KO healthier opponents. Judgment works like this. "So it was, and there was a palpable darkness in all the land of Egypt for three days. They did not see one another, nor did anyone rise from his place for three days. But all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings." Exodus 10:22-23Dark Type Judgment darkens the whole stage except for Arceus and the platforms. During this time frame, the darkness constantly damages his opponents. "The Lord condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, burning them to ashes, and they were made an example of what shall happen to the ungodly." 2 Peter 2:6Fire Type Judgment causes a fiery rain to fall upon the stage. This rain is composed of small, tightly-knit fireballs, making this Judgment a dangerous attack. "And the locusts covered the face of the earth so that the land was darkened, and they ate every herb, every fruit, every crop, until there remained in all the land nothing left of green." Exodus 10:15Bug Type Judgment is exactly what it sounds like from this verse: A swarm of Ninjask drives through the stage, striking anyone in the way as they seek more food. "Then the third angel sounded, and a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water." Revelation 8:10Dragon Type Judgment is a meteor striking the ground. Huh, that sounds familiar. (I had some trouble with this, but in the end, that helped me ALOT in figuring out how it'd work.) "The Lord will make the plague cling to you until He has consumed you from the land which you are going to possess." Deuteronomy 28:21Poison Type Judgment is a classic DPS move, however, Judgment has a special ability atop that: It starts by launching enemies, dealing damage. Like usual, enemies are more likely to be KO'd if they had less damage, but those who aren't will then be afflicted with the flower effect. "And the Lord said to Moses, 'Go down and warn the people, lest they break through to gaze at the Lord, and many of them perish.'"Exodus 19:21Normal Type Judgment has a brilliant light emanate from Arceus, and takes up the screen, launching foes to be caught in the glorious light. (I really didn't have a touchstone for this one, so you have to bear with me.) I enjoyed playing up the religious on this. Definitely fun to find a way for certain Judgments to work in accordance with God's power and actions in the bible. I have a couple other Judgments, but I couldn't fit them in.

I envisioned Arceus as a "Tabuu gone Pokémon" that would fire powerful Judgment from the background or something.
Playable or unplayable, I never considered the use of plates, which is an important element you used there (albeit a bit too selective).

Which was why it only affected his Final Smash. Had it affected any of his other moves, it'd have been WAY too selective and you may as well be playing seperate characters, albeit witht the same name and design. I'd have enjoyed the Splash Plate, but everyone would have seen the reference coming: Noah. I was especially fond of what I did for the Draco Plate. I had some trouble working out a good move for Dragon, but then I thought "Hey, wait a minute, stars fall in the Bible, I can use that!" A plate I was hoping to use was the Mind Plate, but the reference, while absolutely AMAZING, was hard to work, since it referred to the madness of Nebuchadnezzar. It was fun, no question there, but I had trouble determining how to make insanity work to Arceus' advantage.
