Woah... did you add Happy Birthday to your sig, or does it automatically do that Spud? Whatever this devilish magick is, thanks! ;D
Capt. Falcon is all but confirmed, and I still think we'll get a glimpse of him before release.

Oh Flip, happy birthday!
Captain F can't not be in. If he's not in, Sakurai can be sure he will get a serious talking to!

Oh, Happy Birthday
I think there will be more vets. Heck, one might go from hidden to unlocked (I'm guessing Falco actually).

Umm, Flip, a few comments.
A) Lucario is a definate candidate for a 4th Gen Pokemon... Except that they are probably going to have to remove Jigglypuff to do it, because I can't see Pokemon having more than 4 fighters, and Jigglypuff is the lamest. Besides, you relegate useless popular characters to Assists/Pokeballs.
B) Nintendo isn't going to go through the trouble of dealing with Square Enix just to have Geno appear and taunt us. It's playable or bust!
C) Takamaru & Sukapon will not be ignored if they have a big enough fanbase. I mean it's not like Lucas' game is going to come out in the US, no matter how much we wish it. (Darn you, NoA... I wanna play Earthbound 2) I mean, we could see Nazo no Murasamejou and Joy Mech Fight as import titles for the Virtual Console when Takamaru and Sukapon make their appearence.

Really? Even when Pokemon outsells or directly competes with Mario, which clearly had 5+ rep in Melee?
Alright, alright. Maybe. But he WAS a stupid host to a remote minigame in Mario and Luigi. Don't get ME wrong; I would be elated if he appeared. I have it all in my head, and I can see it if I close my eyes. Geno does a leap forwards, fires his laser with his cape billowing behind him, then lands with a dodge roll and trip kicks Mario and sends him flying with a Star Shot Smash. Mmm.. But, anyways, he has already been relegated to minor cameo status even WITH hunting down Squeenix.
I totally agree here, on all your points. Nazo and Joy have insane fanbases; they're regulars in a lot of Japanese nostalgia collections. However, with the supposed loss of Little Mac and the potential losses of a lot of others... I don't know. They may be up on the chopping block before they even get a shot. I wanna get my hopes down so I can be excited, alright? XP

Really? Even when Pokemon outsells or directly competes with Mario, which clearly had 5+ rep in Melee? So far Mario technically has three, Mario, Peach, and Bowser, and we can be assured Luigi will reappear. It's not MY fault that Mario has the most spin-offs that are popular. DK & Diddy follow strickly with the Donkey Kong games, Yoshi follows strictly with the Yoshi games, and Wario is following strickly with the WarioWare games, which is a spin-off OF a spin-off of a Mario game. Of remaining Mario Characters, Geno is the most popular. Either way, on the Pokemon side, we got Pikachu and the Pokemon Trainer, which technically gives Pokemon 5 characters already, and with Mewtwo & Jigglypuff that would give us 7. There are no Pokemon on the Brawl desired list, though Pokemon Trainer did appear on the Melee Poll. As for Takamaru being an Assist trophy, what's he going to do that Samurai Goroh and Lyn won't do? And Sukapon was on the Melee Poll, and we haven't seen EITHER desired character as Assists! You'd think we would see them before Little Mac if they were assists. Speaking of Mac, all of the catering to the US market seemed to be spent on Pit and Sonic, who the Japanese don't really care for.

I agree. But Takamaru had other modes of attacking, such as kunai. I really really want Takamaru to be playable, but it's difficult to see it if they are axing other worthwhile characters already. And the Pokemon thing is a moot point, because we'll never know until the game's released.

Sadly, Pokemon Trainer is one character, not 3. Unlike ZSS and Sheik, PT holds all the characters i9n one set, and forces you to change. He'll also have his own winning theme(name) and poses. Also, that's only 6(with PT as 3) not 7. Actually, there are more US then you think. Diddy was one of the most popular US characters, and PT was more popular then you think, and more then needed. But the most popular US characters (wanted) are Diddy, Ridley and Krystal; one of which has been shown.

Of remaining Mario Characters, Geno is the most popular. How the fuck is Geno the 5th most popular Mario character? Maybe in a very select group of fanboy circles, but other than that, no. Definitely not.

Yeah, how is Geno so popular? I just don't see it. He was a minor character in one game. Incomparable to even Waluigi!

People go gaga over Nintendo, and they rave about Square Enix... Combine the two and you got Geno. =P Also Happy Birthday, Flip.

I see it like this...Geno compared to Waluigi (and other previously debated Mario characters).
Geno was a major character in a major Mario game and a cameo character in another major Mario game.
Waluigi has been a major character in a slew of spinoff Mario games.
Geno wins out for having actually been in something that qualifies as a true title. Waluigi may be more prominent, but has not appeared in a single Mario RPG or platformer, period.
However, Daisy (another oft-contested Mario character) has been in one true Mario game and several spinoff Mario games. Still, she was a damsel in her one true game, so she sucks, but she's still a leg up up over the other two.
Bowser Jr. wins out over all of them, for being a major character in several true and spinoff Mario games. As much as I might dislike him, he's got the most punch, so to speak, of any other Mario character after the Big Seven (Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, DK, Wario, Yoshi), as well as the most credential. If we get a fifth Mario character after Luigi, I'd put my money on Bowser Jr.
