Anyways, Mario talks when you close and open the DS during March of the Minis. Stuff like I LOVE THIS GAME!, HEY COME BACK HERE YOU BIG MONKEY!, NO! NOT THE GAME!!!, and I think Welcome back!!

So voice acting doesn't seem like that far of a stretch for me, but I don't think we'll hear it from traditionally mute characters. Peach, Bowser, Zelda, Wario, Snake--I see them all with speaking roles. But Mario, Link, Pokémon Trainer, Kirby...they'll probably stay silent. I think it's a given that Kirby won't talk, since he's canonically incapable of saying anything beyond the odd repeated word and his name. XD But I think you're absolutely right and the others, too. Miyamoto has said numerous times that he doesn't want Link to talk, anyway... |

As a side note, I don't understand Petey Pirhana hate. Explain to me how, in a series known for having nearly the same character twice (Mario, Luigi - Peach, Daisy), Petey is an inferior character?

It may be because there has been no chances of introducing Super Mario Sunshine stuff in the SSB series before. That's why Isle Delfino was a must-have stage location (it could be said it was "obvious"). I wonder how much importance will they give to Bowser Jr. and Shadow Mario.
The Ancient Minister also reminded me of the Garos from TLoZ:MM for a moment. Not that it means anything.

I guess I need to be terse, because this internet is... ungodly slow, but I will say that this has become the best week so far on the Dojo. Seriously.
ROB, Petey, Diddy Kong, Clawshot.. Fantastic.
With Petey appearing, and seeing Diddy Kong, I'm beginning to believe that Jr. may have to appear as a playable character as well. Damn... so many awesome fighters this time around, and STILL no Capcom VS. style Tag Team mode. wtf Sakurai? I can't master fifty billion cool characters
EDIT: Alright, I'm adding some little tidbits here, since it seemed to pick up speed. (must've Dragon Danced or something...)
--Voice Acting is likely. Sunshine had it, the Kirby Anime (WHICH Sakurai was behind) had it, Twilight Princess might as well have had it, I think Metroid Prime 3 has it.. It's really not that much of a long shot. If Sakurai bothered to get big anime voice actors to do Meta Knight and Pit's voices (and I believe Ganon's and Marth's in Melee), he's gonna milk that.
--The Minister's look, as with the minions, is pretty standard cartoon style. It's not anybody old; they're all new characters
--ATs probably play a role in the story. I mean, how could they not? We already saw one as an enemy (Hammer Brother), and I wouldn't doubt that we'll be seeing others like Knuckle Joe or even the Devil in there as well. Hell, I'm sure minibosses like Petey, Bonkers, Very Gnawty (XD), etc. etc. will be both ATs and story mode bosses.
--Um... this kinda suggests it's an Event mode, but then what the hell plot device forces you to play as Fox in a DK level?

They're the same world, thats why [/dk vine] Oh yeah, I was thinking, $10 says for the Petey Piranha boss battle you have to take to cannon balls he spits out and throw (actually spit, since you'll be Kirby) them back into his mouth, which makes them explode inside him, causing him to swell up and his belly button to be exposed - which you pound the crap out of. Its so totally gonna happen. |

I'm exited about this, but not as much as the Subspace Emissery update. Petey Pirannah was a surprise, and I'm glad to see stuff representing stuff that happened after SSBM.
Peach and Zelda, it seems, are now both the damsel in distress AT THE SAME TIME!

dragon danz, hydropumps, hyperbem, and i think quake would make garados the best fighter ever!!11!

Damn! Here's something I just noticed!  This screen shot shows one of those guys with a Gale Boomerang. Maybe we could guess who the others are mimicking! The one kicking seems to be copying Mario or Link since he also has a Gale Boomerang, while the one crouching is Sonic!!!11!!! OMG!!!11!!!!!! That's enough proof for me. (seriously though, can you guess?  ) |
