Yeah, I work four weekdays every week so I usually don't get around to fixing my sig up until late in the evening. It depends on whether or not I play games/watch movie/otherwise entertain myself as soon as I get home...or if I get caught up browsing this forum and leave the tab with my Graffiti.net account open but forget to update it for like a half hour, which I just did. Whoops.

Anyway, it's fixed now.

In response to the "Clone Dedede" thought, you could easily fix that problem by making most of Dedede's moves centric on his hammer; since we have a lot of swordsmen (already four within the ranks of announced characters, which matches the number from Melee's final roster) and people want to see Krystal using her staff, having a character wielding a mallet (that doesn't produce ice attacks) full-time sounds pretty interesting. Make it so Dedede gets great air but only has two jumps (plus whatever Special moves act as recoveries) and you've got yourself an original character. I think letting him have a suction move is acceptable since he'd use it in a completely different way; he could turn enemies into projectiles that do greater damage depending on their weight. And don't forget that Bowser, Yoshi and Ike (sorta) all have "Ground Pound" moves too.

And in response to Peppy: he'd be a great Assist Trophy. I see him, Slippy and Wolf all getting at least that much representation--maybe Leon and Panther, too. If Falco or Krystal don't get playable roles, then they're definitely going to be Assists. But you guys know my stance on Falco, so I won't bore you to death with a(nother) repeat performance.

I assum Dedede will be a heavy weight that's a bit more floaty, having better recovery. Although Ridley would be similar, but may just be big and lighter. I think Dedede will work.

Good, this game is too good. Too many awesome characters. Just need a few classics to round it out a bit.

Dedede has to be in. Just as Diddy had to be in. There is no denying it, Sakurai will list the next newcomer to be either Lucas or Dedede (assuming none are unlockable.)

Also, what's all this of Dedede being a clone of Kirby? He has many moves that he could use (mostly with the hammer).

I see him with added moves as well.

Masamune, Sakurai said he doesn't want characters that originated from animes, mangas, American cartoons, comics, nor anything other than video games. That includes some of Nintendo's characters from their own cartoon and anime shows, like Rick Wheeler (F-ZERO GP Legend), Tiff/Fumu and Tuff/Bun (Kirby: Right Back At Ya!), anyone exclusive in the Mario cartoons and anime shows, anyone exclusive in The Legend of Zelda cartoon, anyone exclusive in the Captain N: The Game Master cartoon, and anyone exclusive in the Howard & Nester comic series.

And I was being ironic. I don't really think they'd replace Falcon, even though it would make sense in a horribly perverted way.

I think there might actually BE 50 fighters... I mean just looking at the last poll, we've got Dedede, Ridley, Olimar, Krystal, Takamaru, and Young Link (ala Wind Waker) to go before we get to the Stupid Animal Crossing Main Character, and the only feasible ones to tie with him are Lucas, Claus, Isaac, and Skapon. Dedede and Skapon got on the last poll and thus should be safe bets as far as fighters go, and Olimar and Krystal didn't even exist for Melee's poll, and Young Link was in Melee.

So I wanna see at least Dedede, Olimar, Krystal, Ridley, Skapon, Takamaru, and Young Link as fighters before I even accept a nameless protagonist from Animal Crossing as being a decent choice. I get the feeling we ARE going to get AC Main Character as a fighter.

They have already shown that character (male and female) in the background of the Smashville stage, so would that not be possible to have him as a fighter?

One of Krystal's main appeals is that she'd increase the number of females... and she's known to actually be a good fighter, especially if they model her moveset off of Star Fox Adventure.

You would think that until you realize that the male version has got two different looks in the screenshots, so there is apparently multiple versions.

I figure that the AC Human, if they use one, is gonna be the girl. The girl was the one who was used the anime, and therefore is the one people kinda key in on as the central character. It would also add to the female roster, which sorely needs more rep.

Dedede works like this, I figure. All his A attacks are based around his hammer or sumo wrestling. Why sumo? It works, and it's unique. Besides: Dedede pretty much was a sumo in the Kirby games anyways. His B attacks would involve the Suction, some of his own and Kirby's Hammer Ability attacks, and maybe his own version of Blizzard (maybe Kirby's Freeze Ability?) since he IS a penguin. His grabs would all be one-handed because he rocks, he could get crazy jumping height and utilize five short jumps as well as be a slow faller, but only when he's puffed with air from using his midair jumps. Otherwise, he's a heavyweight with high gravity and lower speed. I picture him, stats wise, being a mix between DK, Bowser, and Falco. He's got jumps like Falco, weight like Bowser, and power like DK. He'd forget he ever had a lousy Southern accent, and he'd talk with grunts and whines like everybody else. His Final Smash would be something to do with Dark Matter, because I said so. FIN.
