It looks like Sakurai will use some veteran characters as unlockable characters. It also looks like he will show one last newcomer before the release of SSBB.

As a big Kirby fan, I've been looking forward to this day since Melee was announced.
Even with the delay, Sakurai keeps revealing more and more characters in Brawl. I'm starting to think there will be at least 40 characters.

I wonder if he'll have a Southern accent.
Hope his coat has the 'peace out' emblem on the back like Melee's trophy.

Now all I need is Ridley and Wolf playable and I will be happy! Thank-you Sakurai! Thank-you! I think the chances of Wolf being playable have gone down significantly after the discovery of an Wolf alt costume for Fox at E for All. |

Of course he'll have the peace out emblem! His original designer is working him into the game!  So there we go! There's King Dedede! We all kinda knew he was coming. We just didn't know when I don't think we've seen anyone unlockable so far, and I assume Dedede is not a break from this. There's still a hefty wodge of likely newcomers still to announce - and who know what unrepresented franchises will be revealed as unlockable? Ridley will be a boss (no confirmation yet on whether bosses can be played as) and if Olimar appears at all, he'll probably replace Pichu as the weak character. My predictions |

When I first saw this update in the RSS feed... well, it just says "King Dedede", so there's no way of knowing if it's a character, boss or assist. When the red part of the title bar appeared, I practically squealed with joy. XD

Wolf could be playable, because I thought the Wolfoutfit was just a rumor or Fox just wore a black jacket. COME ON WOLF!

I, too, am interested to see him now, as I was definitely expecting him to be an unlockable. Eh, I should know by now to expected the unexpected.
Looks swish. So does my boy Kirby (I heart him in Melee, who cares if he's nerfed) in his hat.

Yeah, I love that he enters on the wrestling ring from Kirby's Dreamland. Very cool. I hoped for King Dedede, but I wasn't sure that Sakurai would put him in, especially after adding a Kirby villain. Anyway, it's nice to know that he's in. |
