Likely because Waluigi has never appeared in one of Wario's games.  In other words, Waluigi hasn't appeared in neither the Wario Land series nor WarioWare Inc. series.. And because the first game he was in was a Mario game as well. He does from what I'm heard. For example, the funny frame by frame movement (that was shown in the Nintendo World trailer last year) he does is some odd motion he can do in the Wario Land games. |

He has the dash attack and taunt that combines his victory poses from Wario Land 3 and 4.

I love how Waluigi looks so. So clean and on par with the rest of the Mario cast--very nice.
Very glad to see him, though it makes me upset he isn't playable now having seen how nice he looks.

He shouldn't be playabe IMO. His fame is far less than theother mario characters.
It's good to see him... Oh yeah, without his rival Luigi being announced, that is. Maybe they can start revealing secrets from now on even before the game's release?

Waluigi. I can definitely take him or leave him. He's alright, but he doesn't seem all that great, you know.

A very awesome, very strange Assist. I think I'm with most people here that Waluigi makes a better Assist than he would have done if playable. And his bizarre attack suits him down to the ground. What a strange fellow! My thoughts exactly. |

I used to HATE it when people said he would be a playable character. Now I can finally RUB IT INTO THERE MEASLY LITTLE FACES!
However, Waluigi is one of my favorite Mario characters. It really annoys me how they only put him in sports titles. If in between now and SSB4 they either make him a villain in the non-sport Mario games, put him in the WarioWare series, or give him his own game, then by all means PUT HIM IN SMASH 4!!!

When people proposed Waluigi, I used to respond "nah, maybe in SSB4". I guess it could happen, unless better Mario characters appear down the road. He does from what I'm heard. I mean more notable things, like... items, stages, bosses or Assist Trophies. His symbol in Brawl is a "W" and not a Bomb from WarioWare. Before founding WarioWare, Inc., he lived at Diamond City and still used his classic outfit if I'm not mistaken. |

Diamond City was invented for the WarioWare games. Before that, he lived in his castle (bought from the genie at the end of Wario Land). Although I've kinda lost track of this conversation |
