Ike and Marth are different enough (B moves are vaguely similar, FSes are completely different), and Falco is less clone-ish this time around with dual-blasters and a tossable Reflector (though the verdict's still out on Wolf). Toon Link being Young Link in a new suit is inexcusable, and Ganondorf's resistance to change--despite me liking his Melee moveset--now upsets me in hindsight. Ness not having PSI Rockin' is just silly, as are three Landmaster Final Smashes.
Masamune summed up how I feel pretty much already. I'm still embittered as all hell, but I'll heal. It's a major mushroom stamp to the chin, though, that we even saw a decrease in franchise representation as a whole. Less Mario content, less F-Zero content, less Zelda content, and then a rise in Pokemon, Star Fox, and Mother. It's a bit sad, I think, that we don't even have an original second F-Zero or DK stage.
I understand the trade off was for SSE, and I will play the hell out of that game.
But how many times?
Once? Maybe.. twice?
It's not worth it in the long run if the multiplayer is where it's at. The roster is fine, but who they ignored is not. Simply put: I wish Sakurai were still working for Nintendo, and he were being whipped RIGHT NOW to start work on SSB4. Or, at the very least, start cracking down and making DLC.

You mean e-Reader content! Nintendo doesn't do downloadable content. Swiping a card... that's where it's at! And you only have to buy a second Wii for it to work.

To be honest, the roster highly disappoints me a lot. Don't get me wrong; Olimar, Wario, Pit, Sonic, Lucario, Dedede, Meta Knight, Pokémon Trainer, and ROB are all ones I'm dying to play as. But I expected far more new characters (or at least some original characters rather than Falco, Wolf, Lucas, "Toon Link") Since Toon Link is generally a clone of Link, I think he should've been just an alternative costume to Link or something. Falco and Wolf shouldn't have even been included Krystal should've been in rather than Falco and Wolf, that way we'd have an original SF inclusion.
You'd also think, with the inclusion of Smashville, Resetti as an assist, and AC items that there would be an Animal Crossing character; most likely "Animal Crosser" with a unique moveset. But frankly, that's not what we got at all, instead we got clones. I also wanted to see Dixie Kong or K. Rool play a role as a playable character too. And to be honest, Snake should have never been in for the first place.

the only real disappointment for me in the roster is Wolf, who just seems really really unnecessary. but aside from that little blotch, it's easily the greatest Smahs Bros roster yet.

I would've rather had Mewtwo as t he last bad guy instead of Wolf, but otherwise I'm OK with the roster. I definitely know this isn't going to give me that same feeling as Melee did when I cracked it open back in 2002, but then again, I was only 10 at the time, and that was before I had an internet connection or even know about the video game fandom in general.
Ah well... guess we can now move on to discussing a possible Nintendo RPG or racing game...

And to be honest, Snake should have never been in for the first place. Oh, not this again. Snake is a better character, both in terms of his actual character and his moveset in Smash, than all of clones. Why are people still complaining about him? Same with Sonic.

Yeah, Snake is an amazing character with a truly unique moveset and final smash...unlike Wolf.

Personally, I would have preferred Krystal over Wolf as well... but even with Wolf in, Wolf in a Landmaster seems strange to me, canonically. Ah well, whatever. All in all, the roster is awesome and I'm not upset by it at all. Sure there are things I would have liked that aren't in, or things like the Krystal vs. Wolf thing that I sort of disagree with, but the way I see it is that it's mind-stabbingly awesome as it is, and there's really no need to whine about those minor things. You can't always get everything you want. Plus, DLC would be nice. I mean, technically, getting the Stage Of the Day is like getting DLC, so it's a step in that direction.

I love the roster. I would have rather had Mewtwo than "Toon Link" who is still just a Link clone, but other than that I think the roster is pretty awesome. I have more problems with move-sets than I do with character choices.
I don't know why everyone is bagging on Wolf. Just because Sakurai didn't give him new moves doesn't mean the character itself is a bad choice.

I'm not saying he doesn't have potential to be cool or anything, just like an OCD thing sort of. It's just weird to see him among the ranks of Nintendo characters.

Snake's codecs are what make him one of the best additions in smash. I mean if these are ingame codecs, I can't wait to see the ones in Brawl. Also I'm really wondering right now how Kirby'll look when he copies ROB. I'm guessing he gets those creepy ROB eyes.

I'm pretty content with the overall roster. There are some neat characters missing IMO (Stafy, Ray, Little Mac, Balloon Fighter) but this is way better than Melee's, which had more holes than a gruyere.
You can't argue that the most wanted and popular characters are in Brawl already.

I can't believe they choose to let G&W, Wolf and ROB be playable characters. Toon Link is acceptable, but Wolf? Nope... sorry, would rather have seen Demille, Krystal or maiby even Claus!!!
They could have made Wolf and Falco, alternate costumes, like Warios overals, or have Ness be one for Lucas, but nope, they wasted space by adding useless ripoffs that all got the exact same skills as eachother with some slight differences like speed and power... pathetic... I'm justing holding my thumbs that the Wii Online thing might give you downloadable characters in the future... or that Ness got an alternate "Demille" costume...
And that the big ass Pokey machine where playable (that would be awesome)...
