Wolf is actually surprisingly different. Even his specials are radically different (Up B mostly). All his other moves are different.
Just sucks they ALL have Landmasters.

Hmm.. all this talk about Wolf being a slower/stronger clone than Fox... hmmm.. I might give Wolf a try. I know I hated playing as Fox and Falco in Melee because they were too fast/weak for my tastes. That's exactly why I preferred Ganondorf to Captain Falcon in Melee. But now that Ness and Lucas are clones and I already main as Ness in Melee, I will have to give Lucas a try to see if I like playing as him or not. As for Toon Link, he seems to be Melee's Young Link with a cel-shaded makeover.... so I might seldom play as him like I do with Young Link.

I dont like clones. This game better deliver pwnage. Frankly I am disappointed with Sakurai. Ness is in, cool, but Lucas should be out. Marth and Ike, I have no problem with them. Ganondorf, if he has a new moveset, then Ill love him. The game should be rated LT for Landmaster Tank. The starfox clones are what piss me off the most. Fox only. Falco pisses me off the most. Wolf, eh ok, but still makes me angry. The final roster is just upsetting if you ask me.

apparently there are only 27 assist trophies in the game, total.
that makes me so much sadder than the roster ever could! :<

Only 27 ATs in the game? Wow.... that blows. Not even an Eggplant Wizard AT or a Cucco AT. He might as well make the Landmaster Tank an AT. LOL

Landmaster Tank might as well be a character. It has 3 final smashes, and probably has a bunch of stickers and trophies too.

apparently there are only 27 assist trophies in the game, total.that makes me so much sadder than the roster ever could! :< Like my friend said: Brawl is like a roast beef sandwich. It's got all the trimmings and dressings and awesomeness, but if you don't have quality roast beef it's just not a good sandwich. It's a roast beef sandwich, sure. It's delicious. But it's not the BEST you could've had. EDIT: What's really amazing is that we all, even the weepers, will go out and buy Brawl. Because it's still Smash Bros. and it's still higher quality than most games and it's still worth our money. But it's almost like Sakurai tried to do too much at once. He had to do this over and that over there and throw this feature in because he liked it. And what happened? The game suffered. Sure, the soundtrack is amazing. And the roster isn't bad. Stages are cool, there's a ton of trophies. But it's what isn't there that's upsetting. There's only one new stage for most franchises, compared with two in Melee. The majority of new characters are still clones to some extent, rather than having original moves. And "sure bets" like Takamaru, Krystal, Ridley weren't even considered to be playable. Lots of trophies we would have expected lie absent from the game, even the venerable Eggplant Wizard and anything Kid Icarus besides Pit himself. Wario Land gets no nods in the soundtrack. And for some reason, the Assist list is severely lacking and we lost nearly half the Pokemon from Melee (including Smash staples Clefairy and Chansey). I know I'm going to buy and enjoy this game, but I feel cheated--like I bought a double-edge sword. It's sharp and clean and oh-so shiny, but it's rough around the edges and the other side of the blade is rusty and won't cut very well. I can get hits off, sure, but it's not the best sword by any means. I have my game in all its glory and a lot of its features are glorious, but a lot what made the last game great and what was expected to return didn't. And a lot of what we were so sure of seeing never even gets a mention. Seven years was a long time to wait, and even though the game kept getting delayed it still looks rushed when I pour through everything as the "big picture." It makes me sad. I have my new Smash Bros., but at what costs?

I feel the same way, Flip, and I am still going to get the game simply because the gameplay is really awesome and there are tons of things to do like the Subspace Emissary, Coin Launcher, Events, and especially the Stage Builder. There's to dreaming and hoping for better showcase of the history of Nintendo in SSB4.

I guess, thanks to the hype, people expected the game to live up to their expectations which is ussually have obsecure character X playable, throphies of everything Nintendo ever made, double the amount of stages of Melee, etc.
I'm not dissapointed, probably because I wasn't hoping for 50 stages, 100 Ats, 45 characters etc to begin with. Just waiting what they would throw me. In the end the roster's decent, the stages are bloody awesome and the music... holy damn!
Yes Megaman would've be king awesome, but even without him I'm going to enjoy the hell out of this game for another 10+- years until some sort of sequel gets announced.

Yes Megaman would've be king awesome, but even without him I'm going to enjoy the hell out of this game for another 10+- years until some sort of sequel gets announced. I would have to agree. When I heard about Brawl, I was excited. And now that we've seen the game be released in Japan, I am still as excited as when it was announced. I wanted a new Smash Bros. game with some new characters, some new stages, and that alone would have made me happy then. And I have got that. And much, much more. The Assist Trophies are a cool new idea, and although there's only 20+ of them, I like them. They picked relatively good ones. And the Pokemon count went down to likely compensate the Assist Trophies. They work together, and take up the same space. It could be disappointing, but I think that reducing the Pokemon a little to add in more Nintendo love is not a bad thing. The stage count is amazing, and there's a lot more uniqueness. I don't think it's quite as balanced as before (Mario getting a ton of stages, Metroid with 3, while F-Zero and Mother only get one new one), but that still doesn't upset me. The retro stages are a sweet addition, the off-the-wall stages like Electroplankton are really cool sounding, and I have loved seeing each new stage as it appears, and the ones we didn't know about have made me extremely happy. The characters that are unlockable may not have the same oomph as Melee's, but the new characters that are in the game look awesome. I can't wait to play as Olimar, Pit, ROB, Meta Knight, Dedede, Ike and all of the other new characters to see how they feel. And I am really excited about trying out each character from Melee to see how they've changed. And the fact the majority of the game is co-op makes me beyond elated. My fiance and I can play through practically everything together. The song count is mind-blowing, and this is one respect I am NOT spoiling myself on. I want to hear these songs on the stages. I also am excited about the amount of unlockable goodness in the game. This may be one of the most goody-packed games ever released. I believe Flip mentioned before that the DOJO may have been a bad thing. That all of the excitement of these things we knew before the game's launch is now lost because of KNOWING what they were. I can see that as a reason to be disappointed. But I think Sakurai, in this time frame, has done so much awesome design in this game that it's sadly being ignored by what is MISSING from the end result. Yes, Pit only has trophies tying into him and his moves. But that's STILL better than Melee, right? He's playable, has a stage, ties into the SSE, has 4 tracks compared gto ZERO in Melee, and sounds true to his origins in his play style. He summons Centerions! He has the Sacred Treasures as his moves! That's a major step up. And all of the new characters have that. Dedede was background material in Kirby's SSB stage! Diddy Kong wasn't even IN Melee at all! Consider all that we have gotten instead of what was not put in. We should be happy about Brawl, and what is waiting for most of us in the next few months when we can get our hands on it. I know I am.

I'm appreciative to the fullest of what's included in the game. I remember nerdgasming 5 days a week all summer, killing myself with no sleep to find updates, and all sorts of awesome speculation. But it ends there. Yes, everybody's response is, "Don't get all hyped up you idiot." Well, firstly, it's difficult not to hype another Smash game. Secondly, these aren't "CRAZY OBSCURE CHARACTERS THAT HAD NO CHANCE." I wasn't asking for frigging Sky Skipper or SonSon. The characters I wished for and expected were legitimate options for ANYTHING in the game. And to barely see a nod their way in a lot of cases I feel to be a slap in the face. I'm still going to buy the game and play the hell out of it. I'll enjoy it thoroughly. But there will always be that nagging in the back of my mind that "x" was left out of the game, "y" was cut between games, and "z" was a poor decision in the grand scheme. Even if Krystal was never meant to be playable, why the hell did he give the axe to Chansey? Why aren't their trophies or even stickers for a lot of things we expected to see? There are no franchise enemies in the SSE other than Koopas, the Assists barely cover every represented franchise, and there are only two Kirby stages for three characters. I don't know, it just feels like he ran 3/4 of a mile (or kilometer... ) and stopped right there. Some of these things I thought would have been obvious, but apparently not.
