Microsoft tried to address it last week. They didn't really change their tune, but rather they clarified the details (since there was so much confusion after the initial reveal). Ultimately, it just made things worse. Maybe that's why they stayed silent at the press conference. The bleeding won't stop if they keep picking the scab.
(Can't stop Sony from doing it, tho.)

I'm not sure if it's better or worse that Nintendo hasn't been taking shots at them. I suppose Nintendo has no need to compete against Microsoft, in any case.

Granted, Assassin's Creed has huge potential as a long-runner. Revelations and ACIII were lacking in a lot of areas, but at least I can say that ACIII had fantastic gameplay and actually attempted to change the rules of the gameplay and break a lot of expectations.

Had to post this just because it was so... weird.
A new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game has been announced, and it's not the downloadable "Out of the Shadows" game that's coming to PS360. Instead, it's based on the current animated series.
Here's the trailer:
So, the game is coming to Xbox 360, Nintendo 3DS, and... Wii?! Not Wii U? Just Wii?
Well, that's certainly random, and maybe a couple of years too late. Interesting, though. It's not even hitting the PS3.

Hot off the heels of Mighty No. 9, WayForward has initiated its own Kickstarter for an HD installment of their Shantae series called Shantae: Half-Genie Hero. Their target platforms include Wii U, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Steam. I hope they don't get too overshadowed by TOTALLY-not-Mega-Man.

The announcement of this kickstarter really came out of no where, no hints or rumors about a "4th Shantae". They still haven't even released the 3rd Shantae game yet (But is from the sounds of it near complete and will be out in winter)
And someone has already pledged one of the three $10,000 tiers (with a factory sealed copy of GBC Shantae).
Well, I hope this works in "expanding" Shantae's potential new audience.
I really wish more KS would at least reveal the PC specs for their games, it would make me want to pledge but my computer is crap.

Pac-Man Museum cancelled for Wii U and 3DS eShops. Still coming to XBLA, PSN and PC. ( Source) I was really looking forward to this, so I'm pretty disappointed.

Apparently, a toy company let it slip that Sega is working on a new Sonic game for Wii U, PS4 and X1 scheduled for 2015. It's unclear if the title is the third "exclusive" Wii U Sonic game gone multi-platform, or if it's a separate project. So, the first game was Lost World (which I actually just started playing), and the second game was Mario & Sonic at Sochi. I thought I heard somewhere that the third game would be announced in February. I expected it to be another spin-off title of some sort, like a new Sonic Riders or Sonic Shuffle or something. We'll find out soon enuff, I guess.

Sega says the listing for the multi-platform Sonic game was " incorrect." Could be PR speak, I suppose, but it's more solid than no comment.

Sonic Boom designs and game finally leaked/revealed. There not that bad but I'm not digging everyone wearing sports tape, would have worked better on just one of them (like Knuckles). Why does Tails even have it on his shoes? The game shows footage of them all running (at high speed) together is the only possible reason they seem to have tape on them in the first place. Knuckles body is a bit weird but at least it gives him a different silohute/size compared to the others. Sonic Boom game is coming to Wii U and 3DS. And TV series footage.

Looks like you beat me to it, Da Robot! But I think it warrants its own thread anyway.

A few years ago, Yuji Naka announced that he was working on a new character-based action game called Rodea: The Sky Soldier for the original Wii and 3DS. There was a trailer for it, and it was scheduled to come out in 2011, but then it disappeared. Recently, it resurfaced, and it's been ported up to the Wii U (and is still coming to 3DS). There's also a new trailer: It's scheduled for Spring 2015 in Japan, and apparently, first print-run copies of the game will also include the original Wii version. No international releases have been announced. Xseed originally expressed interest in it, but more recently said they had no plans to pursue it. (Too busy focusing on their pervy games these day, I guess.) Looks cool, tho. I hope it finds its way to North America somehow.
