Nintendo's E3 is going to suck this year My prediction? Watch Sony blow everything out of the water. Except that water is murky brown and too dark to make out in the first place, so I'm not sure I'd want anything that was in the water to begin with.

I want my Final Fantasy XIII trailer, Square Enix! That'll revive Sony sorta! If we are to believe what NGamer says then Nintendo can't plug up their leaks. n-europe.com/news.php?nid=12024Oh YES!! If true. I would hope it takes the NES style of a smaller guy. But this better not be everything leaked. Nintendo couldn't have just lost their surprises, could they?

Kid Icarus Wii would be a big deal if we hadn't know about it for like six months now.
Still, I'm hoping for some news on something. Has it been long enough to hear about a Zelda or Metroid yet? Retro is supposed to be focusing on something non-Metroid this time around, but it'd be nice to hear about a handheld Metroid. Hopefully a 2D or 2.5D outing.
I'd be shocked if we don't get something from F-Zero, Star Fox, or Pikmin though. All three are extremely overdue another installment.

I want an F-Zero DS or Wii pretty badly. Wii would be a bitch to control (one mistake can cost you your entire race) so I want a DS one with X style gameplay. X was the one most loved. (Though GX is better...)
Plus anything to show someone I know online F-Zero won't be dead forever because of sales and people just wanting to see FALCON PUNCH.

A new 2D entry in the Metroid series will be very welcome. If Kid Icarus Wii exists, I'll eat my hat. Luckily, it's a hat made of tacos, so a winner is me either way. But it's been rumoured before every E3 since I started this website. I really don't know why Kid Icarus is so popular. I'd be surprised if any more than 10% of the people who want a sequel have ever gotten past World 1-3 of the original, let alone played Of Myths and Monsters. I'd like to see more action titles from Nintendo, and I'd like to see more original franchises. Sequelitis has plagued Nintendo since it became a videogame company. I was excited for games like Project HAMMER when they were announced, and with the right execution they could really pull this off as an excellent Wii title. The Wii has proven itself to be home to some very successful and original action games... from other companies. Nintendo has to step up now and show that it's not just a Mario and Zelda factory, and it can still sell new and original ideas that are built especially for the Wii Remote. On the DS... I play puzzle games. I don't really bother playing other games on it. I'm still slowly working my way through Picross and the Brain Training Sudoku puzzles. So I want to see more logic puzzles. And maybe New SMB2

It hasn't been that rumored that badly, this is the first year where nearly every website says it's going to happen and their was that weird broken embargo business by some unknown website months ago and the supposed concept art leak. The few previous year it happen was just mearly a "insert website name here we hope to see that game at E3" thing. (Funny note, I think I completed 1-3 (or 1-2) because so much stuff was happening on screen (enemies) the game slowed down and I was able to get away).

I've gotten to 1-4 and that was it. By that point the game gets too frustratingly difficult. Though, I have cheated my way to the win back in the day... And Of Myths and Monsters was fantastic. I loved it. I guess I'm in that 10%, but not really. I just want to see them revive old franchises more than anything.
And yes: Project HAMMER I thought was a sure bet to be out by now and in my Brawl. Guess not. At least Disaster: Day of Crisis is still in development, correct?

KI pace does get quite screwed up when you got to those horrible palace/dungeon areas. I think I had to use some KI fansite's guide to get through them after much struggle. D:DoC is rumored to be shown at E3 and the last rumor before that said the game was delayed to TBA to "up the quality of the project."

Wussies. I beat Kid Icarus not too long ago on VC, guide-less. Game's only a pain at the beginning when you die in 5 hits. Just kill a shitton of enemies and collect all the hearts you can find, even after falling down for the 13th time, and you'll be unstoppable in no time. Last dungeon's a pain though, with the healer near the starting point and those Eggplant Wizards crammed near the boss' entrance.
Also didn't Nintendo buy up a team of people and made them work on D:DoC? I remember hearing something like that.

Kid Icarus wasn't too bad, but the Eggplant Wizards mentioned above kept me from ever finishing the game proper. Ah well, the sequel was much, much better. I've beat that one quite a few times in the past.

Project HAMMER was cancelled, which is why we haven't seen it yet - but it's exactly that kinda thing I wanted to see more of on the Wii. Unfortunately, the hammer moves were no more than gestures rather than real-time actions, which is REALLY what I wanted to see.
I have cleared Kid Icarus and Of Myths and Monsters myself, but most people have not. 1-3 is pretty much the hardest level in the game just because of how wussy Pit is at that point. OMaM is much better paced.
But every year the rumour mill hits about a new Kid Icarus at this time of year. And every year the hoaxes become more elaborate. It's one of those where no matter how many times the boy cries wolf, the villagers keep falling for it. Well, fuck that boy! Let him be eaten! The little bastard! Until the words "Kid Icarus Wii" pass through Nintendo's lips at the press conference, I won't believe it. And even then I will remain highly sceptical about the game's quality. I bet it'll be produced by Artoon or some crap.

I was thinking about making a new thread, but since this relates so much to pedictions, I'll just put it here. Nintendo unveils Wii motion PlusThanks to Thores for showing me this.

Microsoft just gonzoslapped everybody at their conference. For those curious: --Microsoft debuted a 360 Motion Sensor that works like the Sony EyeToy, but more advanced. --FFXIII is now no longer PS3 exclusive, as it will be a Microsoft release as well. And to bash Nintendo... --Microsoft announced a new Avatar service similar to Miis but with more customization. They also announced an online "Party Channel" that lets you play their own versions of Wii Play, Wii Sports, Gameshows, etc. using your Avatars. Online, of course, unlike the Wii versions. --MS announced Banjo-Kazooie will be a XBLA exclusive. No Virtual Console. Ever. It's a slight revamp as well: the graphics are improved and the game will finally add the "Stop and Swap" feature, letting you get the Ice Key and 3 ? Eggs for use in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts. F ucking bastards.... xbox360.ign.com/articles/888/888789p1.htmlThere might be other stuff, but those are the biggies.

Of course, Nintendo only has to announce Wii Sports 2 to counter any damage done by their avatar system. Still, Microsoft definitely is going to be a hard act to follow. Hopefully Nintendo hasn't become so confident that they've come ill prepared.
