I have a theory.
Lucario Grey, white fur I don't know if this happens in Diamond (And that is the game Lucario is in I think) as I haven't played that much of it but I remember in the orignal Pokemon there was this place that after Pokemon died there owners payed for their funerals and there was a place down stars where the ghost of the Pokemon where, If one had came near you then you couldn't hurt it and the ghost didn't attack you it just told you to go away. You can only run away. However if you used a poke doll at the ghost it disapears and the orignal pokemon comes back. One of the ghosts blocks your path so you have to use the poke doll on that one. (I don't know if it effects all the ghosts or only the one that blocks your path) When I was looking though your guide I thought that Lucario's costume is a similair colour to a ghost so I think it is based off the ghost's of the pokemon.

So, did anyone here have any idea where Pichu's (and Pikachu's) goggles came from? It might be from the trainers who are swimmers... the male trainers wear goggles in the water routes.

Pichu's goggles (they do nothing!) are flight goggles. Pikachus do appear to be more like swim goggles.
On the topic of that, does anyone else think they missed the point on those? Pichu's goggles / scarf combo looks great, Pikachu's dodgy goggles just look lame.

And what about Jiggly puff's cool head band which they traded for a lame straw hat?

I remember hearing that the straw hat is the one Yellow wore in the Pokemon manga.

Maybe a bit of a stretch? I always thought it was bug catchers.

I remember hearing that the straw hat is the one Yellow wore in the Pokemon manga. I think it's a possibility, and should be noted as one. However, there's no way of proving it.

Personally, I like to think that ROB's yellow and black colour scheme is a reference to Bumblebee. Plus, Transformers did originate as a Japanese anime, so it's fun to think that this is a possibility, no matter how far a stretch.

The original Transformers isn't an anime. The brand originated in the US, and the TV show was first broadcast in the US.
Better yet, why would they base ROB's color scheme off the 2007 movie version of Bumblebee? If anything, they'd base him off something from the Unicron trilogy, a Transformers series that was made in Japan.

Well, didn't Sakurai say he was using some obscure Japanese action figures to pose the characters? And that he grew up watching stuff like Kamen Rider, hence KK Rider being a song in the game? I think that although it's not "Nintendo Official," the Bumblebee reference is definitely there. tfwiki.net/wiki/Bumblebee_(G1)Also, this is interesting... "The original Bumblebee toy was taken from the Japanese Microchange line, where it was available in yellow, red, and blue versions. " tfwiki.net/wiki/MicrochangeAnd lemme find that quote from the Sakurai interviews.... Ugh... I can't. But somewhere in there, Sakurai mentions using old action figures to pose the characters. If anybody can remember, were they Microman toys or not? I seem to think they were.

He uses micromen. You're welcome. Then that settles it. It IS Bumbleebee ROB. Or something like it.

Yeah it seems it was based off some micromen figure.

No, it was based on Bumblebee, as Flip just pointed out. Sakurai must be some sort of Transformers fan. Microchange and Diaclone were rebranded as Transformers in the US and later Japan, thus starting the line.
