Alternate Costumes

I hate to bump, but I have like a million ideas right now, in no particular order:

Yellow ROB could be a reference to Wall-E. Just consider the connections Nintendo and Disney have had in the past. Though the black parts also intrigued me... Could this be another Henshin cameo?

Pink ROB could be a reference to the transparent purple GBA.

Blue ROB could be a reference to the Gamecube or GBC.

Dark Sonic could be a reference to Dark Super Sonic from Sonic X, or a reference to the then upcoming Sonic Unleashed (Think Roy), or even a reference to the grayscale "clones" from Sonic the Fighters.

Green Sonic for some reason reminds me of the Archie Comics (This isn't too impossible, considering the covers were featured in Sonic Mega Collection)

Green Snake could be a reference to the first Metal Gear on MSX and NES.

Blue Classic Wario could be a reference to Captain Syrup, with the pink shirt as a reference to her outfit in the then upcoming Wario Land Shake.

Red, Blue and Green biker Wario all appeared in Mega Party Game$' multiplayer mode.

White Ganondorf could be a reference to Phantom Ganon from the Wind Waker and Four Swords adventures.

Black Shell Bowser reminds me of his palette in Mario Tennis for GBC.

Green DK could be a reference to the Kremlings.

Pink Diddy could also be Player 2 from DK Jr. Math.

Ice Climbers' Green Gloves outfit remind me of a Japanese Topi, while the white one is either an American Topi (They appeared on the Japanese boxart for some reason) or a Polar Bear.

Purple Dedede could be a reference to Kirby's Dream Land 2.

Captain Falcon's Gray outfit reminds me more of Black Shadow than it does of that commercial.

PT's Blue outfit reminds me either of his earlier artwork, or Ash from the Anime. Sans the hat.

Red G&W could be a reference to the Virtual Boy screen.

Red and Blue Dr. Mario could be a reference to the Viruses.

I'd say the Sonic one (For the clones, not the comics), the Warioware one (It sounds wholy plausible) and the Snake one (Just because I have no idea what to think of it) could use some looking into to. Anybody got Warioware: MPG?

It's the same as the Japanese original. I can't say for sure that's what the alt is refrencing, but it looks more plausible than some suggestions in this topic.

Some of your ideas, Sifi, are pretty good, but some don't make enough sense to me. Wall-E, being a Disney/Pixar movie, has no ties to Nintendo by any means, making me skeptical on the Yellow ROB idea. I like your idea on Pink ROB, but it looks too much like a SNES ref for me. Blue ROB just isn't the right shade for a GCN ref. Blue Land Wario does have a ring of Cpn. Syrup to it, but the pink wouldn't be right, as Cpn. Syrup wears purple in Wario Land Shake It. Your White Ganondorf idea is plausible. DK's green outfit doesn't seem very Krem to me, there's too much I see against it. I gotta back you on Blue Trainer, I saw the same on the Ash idea. Your Dr. Mario calls are interesting and I won't debate them, but if it's true, I'd like to know why Wierd didn't get a ref while Fever and Chill did.

On another note, I think I've stumbled upon something interesting about Blue Mewtwo. Mewtwo is a clone of Mew, we know this. Mew's shiny form is a light blue. Interesting stick of gum to chew.

I can see Green Wario being worth of note- Brawl Green's shirt looks, to me, like a dark blue, rather than the other alts black shirts. The others don't synch up- but the first red alt is Fire Wario.

Also, I like the Metal Gear Snake suggestion. It's not perfect, but it fits nicer than I expected. It's probably moss camo done wrong, though. Not gonna stop me calling it Original Snake though. =P

Oh, whoops. Didn't read the whole sentence. Simple mistake, speed-reading. Anyways, seeing it with the Ganondorf line-up, I'd like to say Phantom Ganon looks suspiciously like Blue Ganondorf.

Honestly, I maintain that Blue Ganondorf (third from left) is original Ganon colors, and the fifth is Agahnim.

I think Fry liked my White Ganondorf as Vaati suggestion.

I'm not sure on Blue Ganondorf, there isn't enough brown/red for me to believe, but I like your Agahnim idea, especially due to the ties between Agahnim and Ganon.

Hm, I'm not sure. The purple cape I'll give you, but the armor doesn't feature blue and red, while the purple hair leads me to wonder as well. Personally, I get the feeling it's a Nightmare reference.
