Nah, it's just an old-man Ganondorf. Sakurai makes fun of Ganon being old, and here's the costume to prove it. I can see the OoT and Agahnim, but that's about it. You may be able to argue that the red references Ganondorf's red cloak he wears as pig Ganon, or that the blue/darker hair reference the actual blue pig itself. Not sure, though. Here's pics for ref: Green Snake is just Big Boss. I haven't even played MGS3 and I know that. All his costumes are different camos from the Metal Gear games. Now have we already discussed Zelda's costumes? I wanted to point out once again that her red is meant to be from the original LoZ, her pink from OoT, her blue from ALttP (Sheik being a Tetra ref with the red scarf), and her green possibly related to an alternate color from LoZ. The black is just a "dark" version like many other characters have.

And the purplish from Melee was another alt from the original Zelda, much like the purplish Link. Now, I can't think of another Sheik, besides Tetra and OoT, that has a point of origin. Fry needs to update the first post. Leon had some killer Marth info waay back. that was the Agahnim I was talking about- not his ingame pallate. It synchs up ok with Red Ganondorf.

^ I still think it's hard to say that Red Ganondorf is anything more than a red Ganondorf. If they had given him paler skin maybe.

Zelda series is very closely tied in. Vaati eyes are seen in OoT.

It's just the Sheikah symbol. In fact, I'm willing to bet that is where they got it during dev on OoT.

Route 4, the route in Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, Fire Red, and Leaf Green where you can buy Magikarp.
They can't ALL be gold.

Neither do I. It took me like 6 hours to find any sense in that, but only by writing the word "gold" as "Gold".
In the end, I'm not sure if Shrikeswind meant "it's similar nonetheless" or just wanted to complete what you said about the symbols being different.

I was referring to evolution, actually. Like I said, they can't all be gold.

That still sounds like a riddle. And do you believe that eye means it's a reference or not? I don't, because the shade of red is too different and those eyes are seen in other things than Sheik's clothes.

It's not. I like making comparisons and they aren't always good. You should know this by now, I mean sheesh, we've only known each other 4 or 5 years.
In Smash? No. I do believe it to be an in-series reference, but that's as far as I'll take it. Agahnim was basically the precursor to Ganondorf, so for Ganondorf's red outfit I buy it, but for Sheik's, no.
