Sorry to rain on everybody's parade again... but have you all gone mad? The Color TV Game is very very orange... Not yellow! Unless we want to start included ones faded by sun again

Ok, so maybe yellow ROB is based on the Hanshin Tigers, because... everything is based on the Hanshin Tigers.

Some R.O.B. must have been based on this

Basing the colour scheme on a ROB that has been discoloured by age/smoke/sun? Not just that, basing it on an AMERICAN ROB that has been discoloured by age/smoke/sun? Sorry, that's not what I was trying to say. Sorry if I was not clear in my first post about this. I was basically trying to ask if any ROBs had been manufactured in that color. (Could find no source mentioning this.) And if it was an official color that had been manufactured, then could it be the source of the yellow ROB? Yeah, I would agree that basing the yellow ROB on a discolored American ROB is .... kinda silly. I was also saying that that type of yellow color in the Ebay pictures doesn't look like the type of discoloration plastic tends to get, regardless of the environment it was put in, not to mention that parts of its body, especially its arms, have a dramatically different colors than the rest. If discolored by the environment, the color would probably fairly uniform across the ROB, I would say. Thinking about this, it lead me to believe that it may have been manufactured in that color. Not trying to prolong the discussion, just clarifying what I was trying to say in the first place.

The yellow ROB could be caused by cigerette smoke (saw footage of a yellow Dreamcast found in a dumpster supposedly caused by the same method). While on the topic of ROB alt colours could any of them references to items or enemies/smicks from Gyromite? (Considering there's no ememies in Stack Up from what I know of).

No. Smick's were green lizard things.

Actually, both Stack-Up and Gyromite have enemies. Gyromite has Smicks (green lizards with a red crest), while Stack-Up has Flipper (a pink springy rabbit thing) and Spike (a floating yellow block with eyes and spikes).
I haven't reuploaded the images on this topic (whoops), while the debate over ROB continues to rage, so I'll revisit this character with a new entry under the Pink/Purple ROB...
-------------------------------------
Red & cream - confirmed Standard Famicom Robot colours (Japan).
Grey & dark grey, ROB logo - confirmed Standard ROB colours (US)
Gold & yellow - unidentified
Pink & purple - unverified theory 1. US SNES colour scheme - FG64's Status: Unlikely. The Super Famicom (and PAL SNES) was a light grey colour. Why would Sakurai only reference the US version and not any other system? 2. Sukapon (Joy Mech Fight) - FG64's Status: Possible. The colours mostly match, and he is one of Nintendo's few robot heroes. 3. NEW ENTRY! Flipper (Stack-Up) - FG64's Status: Most likely. It's a pink and purple robot enemy in a ROB series game.
Black & blue - unconfirmed
Green & brown - unconfirmed Most likely not a cameo, as this "green camo" colour scheme is used by ROB Launcher in the Subspace Emissary.

Something interesting I found: The final character in the 100 Man Brawl is a clone of your character,. Every one seems to have some signifigance. For instance, Diddy's is the player 2 Diddy. Kirby's is Keeby. Lucas is Claus. Ness is Fuel.
Might be something to look into.
EDIT: It's the same way any time you fight the character you're playing as. The choices seem to all be important costumes, aside form Blue Luigi and Old Manondorf. Maybe they do mean something after all...
Or maybe not.

Aren't all those clones just the default second outfit?

Yeah, after playing through other things such as All-Star mode (Hadn't been unlocked when I posted that), they are.
Doesn't change the fact that most seem to have signifigance though.

Okay, so I got one. I did an AOL search (yes, AOL. You got a problem with that?) and managed to pick up a possible origin to blue ROB. Note I say "Possible," not necessarily "Likely." My reason? Well, first off, I only have a sprite to work with on this. Second off, the sprite is for a game never released in Japan, Star Tropics. But... Blue ROB may be Nav-Com.

Been discussed already. Nav-Com looks more purple than blue anyway.

Yes, this has been discussed to death, ressurected, and talked back to death. Not just on here, mind you. It's not likely.
Nevertheless, I guess it's possible but not probable, due to the fact that it's a blue fucking ROB.

Oh, really? Aw, that bites. Still, I do like how blue of a purple it is, but even I had reason to question it. I'd definitely not say "Blue ROB is Nav-Com" without some hint of doubt, but it's still interesting even if it's not the case.
In short, OH WELL.

HEY GUYS GUYS DOES THIS LOOK FAMILIAR? Also, Green Fox kinda reminds me of his Pre-Arwing Pilot clothes from the Nintendo Power comic.
