Huh. That's interesting. Pretty sure Mario Bros. Luigi was confirmed on the original Smash Bros. dojo though.
Has anyone looked through the original two Zelda manuals for possible costumes?

I don't think it was definitely confirmed as Luigi's Mario Bros. boxart colour scheme, but it's the earliest use of that colour scheme. The Wrecking Crew boxart was a couple years later, although at least it's the same character.

The Wrecking Crew boxart is much closer.
Also, did no one notice my suggestion for Green Fox?

Could you post a scan of your idea for Green Fox? I think the NP comic is canon, or something. It's from the era of NP comics where they were done by Japanese people, at any rate.

Regardless if the Pink Mario is the result of a bad scan (It is), the e-Reader version used this as its cover, and it fits the pink Wario. You're probably right that it's a overalls version of his WarioWare costume, but man. That's a coincidence.

Um... Deja-Vu? Anyway, I noticed how most SGB games have a different palette every level, and this affects the characters. I'll start my demonstration with Donkey Kong. Borders cropped for your convinience. Next post: Kirby. EDIT: Got tired of waiting. NOTE: Although there are areas in this game with a red palette, Kirby just appears pink.

That's a rather weak shot, though, if I may say so, since I look blue under blue light as much as if I were blue in white light. It's interesting, I'll admit, but it's doubtful.

Especially since there are much more reliable sources for Kirby than those.

Well, KDL2 predates most of those.

Well, KDL2 predates most of those. Actually, the only one KDL2 predates is green Kirby. Blue Kirby was in Kirby's Adventure and Yellow Kirby was player 2 in Kirby's Dream Course (and as we know, yellow was also one of the colours considered for Kirby in the first place). And wasn't the original Game Boy screen green? So we could say that even green Kirby predates KDL2! Sorry dude, I don't think the SGB screen is the answer. After all, the Game Boy only had 4 colours. While DK appears first in a greenish tint on the Super Game Boy, I'm pretty sure the rest of the colour changes made to green DK are direct references to DK64's multiplayer mode (which seems to have been developed alongside SSB64).

So it turns out Nana wore red in the PC88 version of Ice Climber.

Huh. I guess it's possible, but seeing as how even I have never heard of that console beyond that obscure SMB port, I'd say it's not plausible.

Huh. I guess it's possible, but seeing as how even I have never heard of that console beyond that obscure SMB port, I'd say it's not plausible. As far as I know, the PC-8800 series (personal/home computer, not a console) is well-known in Japan. The only question is whether the developers could have been aware of the PC-8800 release of Ice Climber and other PC-8800 incarnations of Nintendo games.

Well, I'm no longer convinced. Not because it's so obscure, (Keep in mind there were about four or five Ice Climber games they COULD have referenced.) but if it was a reference, they probably would have included dark blue Popo with the costume too. See what I'm getting at?
