The newest episode of Bones seems to be inspired by The King of Kong. "Punky Pong" is obviously a slightly modified Donkey Kong. Check out the promo:

Japanese man #1 is Brian Tee (who is actually half-Japanese, half-Korean), who also played as D.K. in The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift. Japanese man #2 is Masi Oka, who also played as Hiro Nakamara in Heroes, the guy singing "Hey Good Lookin' What Cha Got Cookin'?" in Japanese in the comedy show Scrubs, and the guy playing the Shinobi arcade in this commercial.

the guy singing "Hey Good Lookin' What Cha Got Cookin'?" He had more than just that one line, y'know. XD The character's name was Franklin, and he was in the show for a good few years.

Fun note: Masi Oka is also a talented swordfighter, and has been a prominent CGI body actor in many action movies. Check out his IMDB page, gawk at his stuntmen credentials, and wonder... would you be more afraid of little, funny Japanese men if you knew they'd break out some crazy-ass kill moves on you?

Did anybody actually watch the episode of Bones with Punky Pong in it? Bless them for trying, but I don't think they quite got the early 80's arcade style. The illustrations on the machine were great though!

I just got back from seeing Peter Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (Hey! Shut up!). Near the end of the movie, there's an area with arcade games. Mario Bros. was clearly visible and I think Donkey Kong was there too.

Biggie Smalls's rap song "Juicy" features a verse about the SNES and Sega Genesis. Give it a listen because he's one of the view good rap artists out there.
Most of you have probably heard of the metal bands Dragonforce and HORSE the Band who both use 8 bit sounding percussion in their music.
It's rumored that Pink Floyd's "Have A Cigar" inspired the name of the gameboy.
Alternative metal band System Of A Down released a song called "The Legend Of Zelda" the singer sings along to the LoZ theme song.
more music stuff to come. i know i have more.

No. That is NOT System of a Down. It's by The Rabbit Joint. Check here for further information. I've seen this urban legend (of Zelda) propagated far to much,

Yes. All because some fucking moron mislabeled it when uploading it to Napster. Fucking Napster. I think he even admitted it to OCRemix or something.

I still thought so until yesterday, so thanks for telling. I don't listen to rock much, but some friend does and he still thinks it's System of a Down.
