Thank you for your post! This is what I was thinking, too. The Koopalings were never really treated as Bowser's children in the games unlike the cartoons and comics (Super Mario Adventures comes to mind) and Bowser Jr. is always treated as Bowser's son in the games.

Nononono, you got me all wrong. Bowser Jr. is Bowser's son, but he was created through cloning, like Boba Fett was made from Jango, or how Minime was made from Dr. Evil.
He must be an exact clone because it explains why he resembles Baby Bowser so closely, unlike the Koopalings who probably inherited some of their mother's traits. Naturally Bowser is closest to him because of his narcisism (kinda like Dr. Evil) so the Koopalings feel rejected (like Scotty Evil). This would in turn explain why they willingly did Cackletta's bidding in M&L.
Meanwhile Mini-Bowsers were the first attempt at a Bowser clone, but they were failures, so they were relegated to common enemy drone status and put into mass production (like the Clone Troopers).
I love comin' up with this stuff. ;D

I don't consider the Mario Sport/Party games canon. Most don't have a story, or they just don't make sense. Since when has Mario cared about being a Superstar? Why would Bowser play tennis with Mario? Why is Baby Mario there? It makes things simpler to just ignore them. I don't believe anyone considers Shadow Battle a canon part of the Zelda timeline.
There's one thing I never understood about the TToTT. Why does Zelda sleep backwards in time? I know, I know. [glow=yellow,5,000]MAGIC![/glow]But wouldn't it make more sense if she slept all the way around the Timeline and is the woken up a few years before her younger self is put to sleep?

At the risk of sounding dense, TToTT stands for "The Temple of Time Theory", right?
Anyway, I've given up all hope of understanding the Zelda canon after OoT. It makes my head hurt just thinking about thinking about it.

I believe it's "The Triforce of Time Theory".

TToTT stands for The Triforce of Time Theory.
As for why Baby Mario is in the game? Partners in Time (and Yoshi's Island DS) gave us the perfect get-out clause - warp holes between the past and present.
So now baby versions of everyone can be explained, and the sport/party games can be brought into the canon. After all... if you say no Mario Party or Mario Golf/Tennis/Baseball/Soccer then you're: A) Also saying no Mario Kart (booooo!) B) Also removing some of the best opening/closing character building scenes that exist in the entire series.

The shortest distance between two points is a single line. Zelda sleeps backwards in time because it takes less time to get to that point as opposed to going around the entire triangle.

How the hell does that work. If she sleeps backwards in time, isn't her future self already sleeping on the same spot she wanted to go to sleep at? She'll have to go to sleep at another spot so she's not in the way of her future self, but then her future self wouldn't even be sleeping on that spot because she's there because she's sleeping at that spot and TIME PARADOX OVERLOAD.

There's no overlap, because you seem to be thinking she's sleeping forward and backwards in time at the same time, which is just silly. In reality, it's just a one way trip backwards.

Somebody in the Zelda series needs to invent a time machine.

Those two Links are too pussy to use those to go anywhere in the timeline to solve/own the shit out of this mystery? How disappointing.

The Ocarina of Time doesn't let you go through time. The Master Sword does.
