If you have nothing good to say, then stay outta the topic. That's how far. Because Swanky Kong is DK Jr.! Nah, him and DK III look to be about the same age. However, If you instead follow the idea that Super DK is Cranky's son instead of grandson, then it wouldn't be entirely odd to assume that Swanky is actually the pink DK Jr.  |

I like Flint's theory. It simplifies many things and still explains that Cranky Kong is the original Donkey Kong and an ancestor of DK.

Does anyone know (or have a theory) as to how the rest of the Kongs are related to DK? I know that Wrinkly is Cranky's (now deceased) wife and that Candy is DK's girlfriend (supposedly), but I have no idea how the rest of the Kong clan (Diddy, Funky, Kiddy etc) are related.

Dixie is Diddy's girlfriend, Kiddy is Dixie's cousin, Tiny is Dixie's sister and Chunky is Kiddy's... brother I think...

I assumed I got it from the manual - seeing as I have a blind spot when it comes to fan speculation.
No ties between those characters and DK have ever been made. They don't all have to be blood relations. "Kong" is clearly just a term for ape, and not a family name, otherwise there be a loootta inbreeding going on thar.

Yeah, the DK64 manual says Chunky is Kiddy's older brother. Said manual ways narrated entirely by Cranky himself, so... yeah.
Half the time some things say Diddy is DK's nephew, but I don't buy it. None of the manuals mention it, and there's really no reason for it anyway. To be technical, a monkey can't be an ape's nephew.

They are all one big family and they just make up relations. That or every monkey has the same family name, remember that one enemy in the original DKC?
