But even in the original SSB they were a completely seperate universe, as dolls.
And I liked the SSE's platforming bit, it's like KSS, which is why I like it and don't like it. I don't because Sakurai borrowed too much from his own game.
And if it was a crossover then either it ain't canon or in a seperate reality entirely.

I got that, but "how would this crossover world be made?" is what I was asking. If the worlds were to cross over, then I'd imagine it would be done in the tried-and-true parallel universes/Warp Zone deal, or something like Namco X Capcom where the human characters all live on (a heavily fictionalized) Earth in either the past or the future (Zelda, Fire Emblem, F-Zero, Earthbound even), some of the characters would live in a far-away galaxy (Star Fox, Metroid, Kirby), and some of the more fantastic ones would be confined to pocket dimensions or fantasy worlds (Mario, Game & Watch, etc.).

I would prefer the latter to the former, only because the Warp Zone deal sounds too much like Kingdom Hearts in a really bad way. The idea that Eagleland, Brooklyn, and Kanto are all on the same planet is cool with me. And then Hyrule or the Mushroom World are separate world/pocket dimensions. Zebes, the Lylat System, Popstar, etc. are all far off planets and galaxies. It totally works for me.
But I will take it all back if it sounds too fanboyish, of course.

One of us should set up a map about how this would look. ...Do you have to get all sensitive about before when you post these? That wasn't a serious statement, mind you.

Wait... isn't Eagleland supposed to be a satirical stand-in for the USA? How would you put real world locations on the same planet? Better yet, if Kanto/Johto/etc. are on the same planet as these other places, does that mean that Pokemon are exclusively found in those regions? I initially thought Hyrule could be set in Earth's past, but how do you explain the whole Triforce of the Gods thing? If it is located in a pocket dimension, should it be occupying the same plane of existence as the Mushroom Kingdom? Zebes should rightfully be set in the future after human civilization moved to other parts of the galaxy. It would explain Samus's backstory in relation to the rest of this. Lylat and Popstar on the other hand can be located in the present. Those are populated entirely by non-human species, and Ness and Mike J. have had dealings with space folk. Speaking of the future, would the F-Zero setting and the Mach Rider setting be part of the same time period, or do their respective games show different years? I need to double check this... Otherwise, I guess the different Fire Emblem kingdoms could be set in a variant of medieval Europe (though probably not right next to each other), and settings from games like Nazo no Murasamejo and Shin Onigashima in ancient Japan. Hell, with all this time traveling going on, we should bring in the kid from Time Twist.

Ok ok, I just now came up with a mindblowing theory to answer all your questions.
It's a game.
Now worship my awesomeness.

I'm tired of people saying this. If it's a game, then I am it's master, however, I suck at it, so it can't be a game.
And to explain, every character gets transported to the smash world, which has replicas of there own worlds.

The story has been repeated many times by Sakurai himself. Master Hand created "This World" and the trophies. The trophies have the personalities of the characters they represent when they're "alive". They all live in "This World" where fighting each other is their way of life. Master Hand is presumably a big Nintendo fanboy as well, because he's created areas of "This World" to represent scenes from many character's games, such as King Dedede's castle and the Zoo from Mother 3. The Smash Bros. games do not tie in with the backstory to any of the individual franchises. They are representations of each franchise created by Master Hand. Seriously... now we're debating stuff that has been clearly stated many a time...

So nothing that happens in the SSE is considered canon (outside of the 'Smash Bros World'). Gotcha! *gives Fry a thumbs-up* *Is relieved that, that has finally been settled once and for all*

I can't believe there is a backstory to smash bros. It was fleshed out for the huge adventure mode in Brawl. Before that there were just little bits here and there (like Master Hand being the creator). I'm just waiting for someone to go "ZOMGZ!! What about Master Hand and the Smash ability appearing in Kirby & The Amazing Mirrorzorz!! Is that canonzorz?!?!" So thought I'd just drop in and say... Christ, get a life!

Nothing in Smash Bros. PERIOD, is canon. I know places like the DKU like to believe in the Chest of Time, but the fact is the whole game series is Master Hand's recreation of the different Nintendo worlds.

Retorical question time: Have any of you seen anyone arguing about whether or not Michael fucking Jackson appearing in Space Channel 5 is "canon"?
