Nintendo vs Sega

Hey guys I want to do a nice Nintendo Vs Sega roster, and I want to ask for your help.

How to do it? well, post your ideal 12 character lineup (six from Sega six from Nintendo) and justify it (the character and its series must be important to its company), then around mid december we close the suggestions and every one who wants to participate gets a character to Draw (full shot and head shot preferably) and I will put up a nice Character select screen. are you guys up to it?

here is a few gidelines for your suggestions:

1) You can sugest one character for one company and justify why he should be in , preferably post pictures of him /her. (if you want to ofer to draw him, do a quick sketch of him, nothing that will take you more than 15 minutes, its just to help me decide who gets to draw who)

2) Or sugest your own mini rosters of 6 Nintendo vs 6 sega. characters who get tons of sugestion have high chances of getting on the final roster.

3) Since Nintendo database is a “No list zone“ try to spice your posts with pictures and/or some justify of why those characters.

4) The next characters are a given so you don´t need to justify them, focus your sugestions on someone else(but if you want to draw any of them, post a sketch)

Lets aim for a 12 vs 12 total roster but if we get enough artist willing to participate I might bump it to 20 vs 20.

I think the only the leading character of every big/ basic franchise should go in and not any more. You know, have Mario but not Luigi. It would only be fair that way.

Keep your list small, and say why those characters should be in the game, that way I think it would be ok.
Remember that I also looking a to which Nintendo characters would make into this as the Nintendo side has only 20 characters.

Alex Kidd seems to get enough references in Sega games ( he probably would be a secret character if this were a real game) Ulala also gets Tons of Cameos, even if her game series hasn’t had a game since the Dreamcast.
Ristar is another thing, I love the little guy, but he is a one game wonder, I don’t want to turn the game into a retro fest but something approximate to what Nintendo and Sega would actually do if this ever happened.

The last paragraph makes me think, Which Sega franchises are currently active besides Sonic? “Nights“ and “Samba de Amigo“ got recent Wii exclusive releases, Does this makes them reliable contenders?

Bah, does it HAVE to be "active" franchises? I think it should be based on which series are historically important to the company. Remember SEGA is not the company it used to be, their current activities do not justify their long history of gold.

Any way someone from the Shining series should be in there. Shining series is very important part of Sega.

I'd think Amitie from Puyo Pop is a good choice too. And don't get me started on Virtua Fighter.

VIRTUA FIGHTER!! I have forgoten about that series, Now that is one series that MUST be represeted, but by who? Generic Ryu clone “Akira“.
Shining series are still up and running but I can´t come with a good representant from said series, I need help here.
If we were to have someone from Puyo pop I think we would be better with the original protagonist Arle and Carbuncle (should we ignore the fact that Puyo puyo was originaly created by Compile and then gobled up by Sega)

Hm... NiGHTS and Samba de Amigo both have had decent allusions in other series before they're Wiivivals. So, I'd count them.

I'd count Flickey as well. They've appeared frequently in the Sonic series, as well as they're arcade game.
