I still don't see how Tingle can be a character. I only see him as an assist.
That also goes for Mother and WarioWare characters.

That said, I'll have to go under the assumption that SSB4 will mostly likely end up making some of the Assists playable In that regard, Stafy might get a promotion, but what could they base his moveset off of? Stafy already has a comprehensive moveset in his games, there's great possibilities with Stafy. Why wouldn't anyone want Stafy in the game?

I support the following Assists to be playable in SSB4 - Samurai Goroh (for the 2nd F-Zero slot), Little Mac (new franchise), Saki Amamiya (another new franchise), Isaac (yet another new franchise,) Stafy (yet ANOTHER new franchise). Really? ME TOO! Seriously now. Only opposition I have for Tingle is my immense HATRED of him, so I won't argue that, but Infantry and Tanks? That's a bit out of it, don't you think? Maybe Andy or Sami or someone who's actually someone, but not the Infantry and Tanks.

I think Nintendo Wars needs better rep than a lousy AT. But a character might be pushing it. A STAGE yes, that would be awesome!

Shrinking Ridley is like shrinking Rayquaza. Their large sizes are what make them... them! Ridley wouldn't be Ridley if he was suddenly downsized in SSB4. I mean, he's perfect as a giant space dragon. It suits his character. I mean, Ridley lifted Samus with only one hand in Brawl! One hand all around Samus's hips! No, because he has been about the size of Samus in earlier appearances. Ridley's size doesn't make him Ridley, Ridley's destructive tendencies and pteranodon-like structure makes him Ridley. Yes, Ridley was barely bigger than Samus in the early Metroid games. But that has been retconned with Metroid: Zero Mission. Remember, the most recent Metroid game was Super Metroid (1994) at the time Melee came out, so Ridley was around Samus's size in that Melee intro. But that has been retconned after Metroid was revived in 2002. So now we have a giant Ridley in Brawl. Besides, I'd like to see more franchises than expanding the franchises we already have in Brawl anyway, but that's just me.

Well lets not forget that sizes are not accurate in the Smash world anyway. Look at the size of Olimar, he should be tiny! Besides, Ridley would be the only other Metroid character to put in there, unless you want Dark Samus...

And no one wants Dark Samus because DS is just a negative image of Samus.
Or the new generation's Game Boy. Whichever.
Anyways, Ridley could be done up either way, either about the size of Samus or as a massive beast, and it wouldn't matter because we'd still know him to be Ridley.

Except Dark Samus is actually Metroid Prime itself under a new guise, and outside of it's appearance it has practically nothing in common with Samus.
That aside, it could be argued that Metroid doesn't need a second rep on the grounds that it technically already has two, and that having only Samus be playable kind of conveys the running theme of isolation that most Metroid titles seem to involve.
Me? I say that the rep should be balanced and that there should be less characters for series with already sufficient rep, and more characters for under-repped or not-repped-at-all series.

Right, which is why Sakurai gave us Ridley and Meta Ridley as two large bosses in Brawl. We recognized him and he's perfect in his role as a Smash boss.
About Infantry and Tanks, do Andy, Max, Sami, or any of the other Commanding Officers actually participate in close combat? Or do they just stay out of the battle and send in their soldiers to do all the fighting? Just like in the Wars games?

Why wouldn't anyone want Stafy in the game? Because he's 1. Japan only 2. Unknown outside of Japan 3. NO ONE OUTSIDE JAPAN KNOWS WHO HE IS There's also the fact that he seems way too childish to be taken seriously as a character in Smash. Also, he was one of the few assists that you could actually attack and...defeat. Implying he was weak.

Does that mean Takamaru and Captain Rainbow shouldn't be in SSB4 either? They are Japan-only, unknown outside of Japan, and in Captain Rainbow's case, his name is so gay to the American audience.

Yeah, that sounds about right. Maybe as assists, but I wouldn't want them as full, blown out characters.

I would like to see Stafy appear a fighter, but I fear he may be unblanced due to his AMAZIMGLY FAST SWIMMING POWERS compared to other Nintendo characters (sarcasm) (But I really do want to see him playable, oh come on people his best friend is a talking pie giant clam that can get really angry . . . well that's my attempt at being funny). On the topic of those who want Dark Samus in, did any of you even play through MP3:C and beat the game? I would beilieve that's the reason why DS isn't in the game. About Infantry and Tanks, do Andy, Max, Sami, or any of the other Commanding Officers actually participate in close combat? Or do they just stay out of the battle and send in their soldiers to do all the fighting? Just like in the Wars games? None from the original 3 games (is it okay to call it a triliogy?) but in the new world of Advance Wars: Days of Ruin/Dark Conflict, the CO can actually be put into a selected vehicle (increasing it's stats and of those in nearby promixity to that vehicle) and sent out on to the battlefield.

Can we talk about something else? Give the Krystal debate a break for a few pages, yes? Infinite pages, more like. It seems you lot sure did use up a lot of your energy on debating about the playable characters. There's just no way around these things. Let's see how we can get to discussing something like...stages. I'd like to see what you guys can pull on that one. (Careful with how you play the "rep" card; this can even include items, stages, assistants, etc.)
