How does Smashville having its name prevent an Animal Crossing character from getting in? That's a list with cummulative votes. I'm the third person to vote, and the previous scores are here.

I got it. The next Smash should be Super Smash Bros. Clash.
Rumble is too generic. Melee and Brawl.. they escalated from one another, and are also somewhat more "obscure" words. Clash? It just fucking works

As much as like the idea of this thread, I feel it is doomed. I thought it would be fun to have people draw a character select screen, with all the character art of the roster we chose, maybe even the alternate colors too. But alas we'll never get to do something fun like that because of all the stubborn asinine arguments made here. I can't say I didn't contribute to the arguments, because I have and I'm sorry for that. But now I want things to get done more than defend one or two characters. Isn't it more important to get something finished than argue about one character? I'm certain, that if a topic like this is ever attempted again there needs to be an unbiased ringleader to get things moving. I agree with you. To much complaining. There should be a list of characters (new) that people should be able to use to vote for a favourite, The list should also note any ideas or plans for how this character should work, or from what game he/she is from. Let the people decide. EDIT: Anyways, I want to put into consideration that we "NEED" more female characters. Mostly because 90% of the cast in SSB are just a bunch of guys. And JigglyPuff we aren't even sure of. So about that AdvanceWars character (Andy or Sami) I would choose Sami to even out the gender scale... Also, I think Isaac could work as a costume for Ike. Ike could also have a Roy costume... I think so myself mostly because unlike Roy, Ike got a unique moveset. But I still consider to have Lynn in, mostly because she would be an interesting asset with her Katana... Also, as for this next Pokemon character, what if "IF" we put in Gardevoir just as a (WHAT?!) surprice character. I also had in consideration a moveset: B: Energy Ball- Not sure which type of, but simply a energy ball. BUT, not as the ones used by Lucario or Mewtwo. No, it moves more like Din's Fire, or PK Thunder. You control it to move in a decired direction... Forward B: Petal Dance- unexpected? You betcha. She moves forward in an elegant spinning dance, with petals flying around her. Beautifull... Up B: Teleport: Just as it sounds, and also alot like Mewtwo's, nuff' said... Down B: Psychic: In an interesting way, while the reach might be a bit like Mewtwo's Glare, the effect is different. When hit, the opponent will be launched a considerable lenght through cheer psychic force... FinalSmash: Pray?: I don't remember if it was the correct name, but, Gardevoir will kneel down in an almost praying position, causing a white beam to fall down towards her which heals her. BUT, anyone caught by the beam besides Gardevoir will suffer huge damage... Absurd idea, and won't probably make it. Oh, and that about Demille that we should wait til' there might be a new game. Well... look at like this: Before Melee, few knew about FireEmblem. After Melee, everybody knew about it. Which puts into question why Nintendo might not have realised that SmashBros wakes up curiosity by adding completely unknown characters into the fray. So think about it, you might not find anything interesting about Demille or anything NOW. But for someone playing the game and suddenly unlock some completely strange character, that might wake up some comotion about the origin about that character, and possibly the series. Just like when Marth and Roy appeared in SSBM...

No. Because they use more than their fists.
But perhaps there should be another vote on a name or something?

No. Because they use more than their fists. (I am on a role!) Also, I'm pretty sure he was joking.

The should've been a hint to that. I'm kinda partial to the name Ultra Smash Bros. or Hyper Smash Bros., but those would seem to imply massive changes to the series or something.

Super Smash Bros. Turbo actually doesn't sound so bad... Super Smash Bros. Alpha? Super Smash Bros. Gold? Super Smash Bros. Armageddon? Super Smash Bros. World Fighters? ...I'm having too much fun with this.

The countless Street Fighter 2s and 3s add to the hilarity of the whole "Street Fighter 4 IS (FINALLY) HERE".

I'd like to bring your attention to Brawl's records. When you look at the top row, you would see the following characters in this order from left to right: 1. Mario 2. Donkey Kong 3. Link 4. Samus 5. Yoshi 6. Kirby 7. Fox 8. Pikachu 9. Luigi 10. Captain Falcon 11. Ness 12. Bowser 13. Peach 14. Zelda / Sheik 15. Ice Climbers 16. Falco 17. Ganondorf 18. Wario 19. Meta Knight 20. Pit 21. Olimar 22. Lucas 23. Diddy Kong 24. King Dedede 25. Ike 26. R.O.B. 27. Snake 28. Pokemon Trainer 29. Lucario 30. Marth 31. Mr. Game & Watch 32. Jigglypuff 33. Toon Link 34. Wolf 35. Sonic It seems to me that perhaps Sakurai originally removed Marth, Mr. Game & Watch and Jigglypuff. I mean, why aren't they ordered among SSB and Melee characters? Why place them after all the newcomers and before Sonic? I was thinking that maybe Sakurai realized that having only 29 characters in Brawl compared to 25 in Melee wouldn't sit well with the fans so he probably decided to add Marth, Mr. Game & Watch, and Mewtwo before deciding to bring Jigglypuff and more clones to increase the roster number from 32 to 40. The roster grid would probably have gone from 10x3 to 10x4 before Sonic was added in the last minute. I think Sakurai decided to drop most of the clones (he probably realized it was a bit too excessive and Toon Sheik was pushing it, IMO) and just add Sonic. I think Sakurai removed Marth because he was obsolete to the Fire Emblem series but then added him back to promote Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon plus he already had the data from Melee. I also think Sakurai removed Mr. Game & Watch because he was unpopular in Melee but added him back to promote Game & Watch Collection plus he already had the date from Melee. About Mewtwo and Jigglypuff, I think Mewtwo was added back because he was in Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen but was dropped entirely to promote Pokemon Diamond/Pearl with Lucario plus Pokemon Trainer already represents Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen. I think Jigglypuff was chosen over Mewtwo because she was in the original SSB so she had seniority, I suppose. I believe she was added late into the game development but her data from Melee would likely make her a quick addition. Toon Link and Wolf most likely stayed because Toon Link represents Zelda: Wind Waker (and is a suitable replacement for Young Link) and Wolf represents Star Fox 64 (it is more popular than Star Fox Adventures, sorry Krystal fans). All the other clones were unnecessary. Back to SSB4, I think that Marth would return because of Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon. I'm almost certain Ike is gone unless he has a new Fire Emblem game or unless Sakurai decides to keep him to increase the roster size. But I'm almost positive a new lord from a future Fire Emblem will fight in Ike's place. About Pokemon, I think that Jigglypuff might be gone unless Sakurai decides to keep her to increase the roster number. Lucario is most likely gone unless Sakurai decides to keep him to increase the roster number but I'm very sure that a 5th gen Pokemon will be playable in Lucario's place. Toon Link is almost definitely gone unless there's a new Zelda game featuring Toon Link in the future. Young Link might replace Toon Link if a future Zelda game features Young Link. If there's no new Zelda games featuring Young/Toon Link and Young/Toon Zelda, then I'm almost certain Tingle is a shoe-in. I don't know what to say about Mr. Game & Watch but I'm sure he will be back. At the very least, I would expect everyone but Ike, Lucario, Toon Link, Jigglypuff, Sonic, and Snake to return in SSB4. That's 29 veterans and it leaves us with at least 12 newcomers to add. There's a good chance Sakurai might add 3-4 more characters to increase the roster number and it would make a perfect 9x5 roster (that's why I'm expecting at least 44-45 characters instead of 50 like most do). Personally, I'd like the Pokemon roster to have Pikachu, Pokemon Trainer, Lucario, Meowth, and 5th Gen Pokemon. At least we get 1st, 4th, and 5th gen instead of just the 1st gen with only one from the latest gen. Super Smash Bros. Clash has a nice ring to it. Kinda like Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of the Super Heroes... only it is Clash of the Nintendo All-Stars.

I think it's safe to say that any character who has appeared more than once in the Smash Bros. series, will return. I can't image the game without Jigglypuff.

Its possible Jigglypuff might return but I cannot be sure of it. She's always on the chopping block. I still think Jigglypuff and Pichu were added because Sakurai couldn't complete Meowth in time so those two were added to increase the roster number in Melee. I think it was quicker to add those two in Melee because Jigglypuff had data in SSB to reuse and Pichu copied and pasted Pikachu's data with some changes. I'm more convinced she was added in Brawl to increase the roster number when she, Toon Link, and Wolf have no roles in the Adventure Mode and Sonic's role felt forced. They were likely late additions. Part of me expects Jigglypuff to return but another part of me hopes she leaves.
